  1. There are truly a bunch. Some are because of the music and some are because of the memories the songs stir up. The guitar solos at the end of Mission and The Garden are two of my favorite moments and always gives me chills when I hear them.

    Wow songs

    Everyday Glory Mission Red Barchetta
  3. I like them all. I’ve always said that any Rush is good Rush.

    New rush

Exactly how I feel. In most cases, “reworking” songs doesn’t end well. They hardly ever seem to be as good as the original. A good example is with the 80s’ band “The Babys”. They recently released a reworked version of their Anthology album. It sounds like it was recorded by a Babys cover band.
  5. Great work! Thank you!

    I Give up

I love Moving Pictures, but it is a Rush album so what’s not to love. The Camera Eye is a musical masterpiece.
  7. I was 14 the first time I saw Rush too except it was December of 1974 at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland Ohio. A day I’ll never forget. I wondered why the drummer looked so different than he did on the back of the album. By 1980, I had seen them 9 or 10 times.
  8. I don’t think that they are any more special. Rush has been a “continually working” band for more than 40 years with essentially the same personal working under the premiss of “we won’t do it unless we all agree”. It worked for 40 years. Why change now. Because it’s not working now. Enjoy a well deserved retirement or change to a working model. Geddy definitely seems like he wants to continue working. Alex does to some extent too. Many if not most Rush fans still would be open to it. Those opposed are vocal but they seem like a minority (the poll in the Rush section shows this). Also, (I believe) most/nearly all of the opposed would still buy the new material and join the gigs. It IS working now more than ever. Especially if they all don’t agree about continuing. I agree that Geddy and Alex would probably like to continue performing which they could do with a replacement drummer playing from their existing catalog. New “Rush” music couldn’t happen without all three of them so that is I mute point.
  9. Hypothetically, Rush could definitely go on playing live with a different drummer. Pick the best one on YouTube and go tour. I think they would do pretty good. I would definitely go see them multiple times. I don’t think they would do as well (if at all) replacing Alex or Geddy. To me, they have always been the best part of Rush and the main reason I like them. That being said, it takes all three of them to create new Rush music. No questions asked. The three of them creating together is what made the magic that is Rush. No more new music is the part of their retirement that makes me the saddest.

  11. Wow what ? Did i guess correctly ? You look like a Cygnus man Just a reaction to this thread. That’s all.
  12. It’s hard for me to speculate about this because they said they wouldn’t do it. That’s enough for me.
  13. Trying to keep the feud going i see, Dont contact me again and i will not post about you ever again. I clearly think your a huge poser and a lame RUSH Fan :7up: The true fans love all that is :rush: and don't talk shit about them online, End of story If they only read what you said about them :tsk: If they read uncritical fanboi nonsense, I'd bet they wouldn't respect it. I'm pretty sure they realize they aren't infallible, as virtually everyone with a modicum of intellect or even life experience does. If you’ve ever heard HYF, you know they’re not infallible. Hey now...HYF is my favorite album. But Vapor Trails on the other hand,.. this is me. LOVE HYF. I was upset they never played Prime Mover again live. Mick I had always hoped for Second Nature.

  15. You must be kidding Every RUSH album is equal and awesome How is Roll The Bones anywhere near equal to Permanent Waves? That's baloney. Agreed. Every Rush album is not equal. But, I do agree that every Rush album is awesome!
  16. The solo section of the song did get rather “progressive”!
  17. Huh? They were only 10 years into a 40 year career. They were just getting started! That being said, I thought that the ingrained “creativeness” would prevail and they would want to create new music. While I think that Geddy and Alex still have that drive, i’m not so sure Neil does. He may still be coming up with some lyrics every now and then, but I don’t think he can hear that drum set in the basement calling his name.
  18. HBD Mr. Friar! I hope you get lots of cool presents!
  19. Vapor Trails. Hands down. It seemed like they were trying to “fit in” to the general soundscape of rock music of that time. Definitely not their style.
  20. Presto is a Rush album, therefore I love it.
  21. It’s cool to see it get recognized. I think it’s a great film. I’ve ended up sniffing at the end every time I’ve watched it.
  22. It’s all good. You’re still a fan. Once you’re hooked, it never all goes away. You’re just in a slump. Also, isn’t the phrase “vinyl records” redundant? I thought all records were made of some form of vinyl.
