Morgan Freeman In Serious Condition; Car Crash
tupelobarchetta replied to Test4VitalSigns's topic in Video Vertigo
Here's a link to the story about Freeman's accident from the Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis: http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2008/...miss-car-wreck/ Here's hoping Morgan makes a speedy recovery. He's a great ambassador for our state. -
Top Gun 2: Don't Ask, Don't Tell (Maverick and Iceman struggle to keep their unique relationship secret from Maverick's wife, Charlie the instructor, and the rest of the military. Maverick and Iceman enjoy sharing their 'jets' with each other). Brokeback Mountain 2: Saddle Sores (Due to Heath Ledger's death, the Ennis del Mar role is written out and Adam Sandler is introduced as Rusty Rodd, a loner who stops for a blow while seeking a job on Brokeback Mountain and meets Jake Gyllenhaal's Jack Twist. Jack is torn over the loss of his friend Ennis, but Rusty comforts him and they affectionately learn how to ride bareback on each other). Deliverance 2: Revenge of the Purty Mouths (The boys from Atlanta return to the river to hunt down more redneck backwoodsmen. The kid with the banjo has a speaking part. But trouble ensues when Jon Voight goes berserk after Burt Reynolds tells him his daughter has a purty mouth.) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 2: McMurphy Becomes a Laker Fan (McMurphy escapes the mental hospital, moves to LA and cons his way onto courtside during Los Angeles Laker games. He tells Coach Phil Jackson to sign a center named 'Chief,' a Native American whom he coached at the hospital. Laughs are a plenty during McMurphy-Magic Johnson conversation scene). Scarface 2: Say Hello To His New Little Friend (Tony Montana pulls himself out of the bloody fountain and re-establishes himself as the drug lord of Miami while cruising the streets in a tank. Two sets of Miami Vice cops named Crockett and Tubbs are hot on his trail). The Natural 2: Roy Hobbs on Steroids (Fans and the media begin to notice Roy's growing muscle mass and 600 foot home runs, plus the blood on the buttocks of his pants. Roy tells Congress that he was shot in the butt by a crazed female fan. Baseball confiscates one of his bats, which has the letters 'HGH' burned into it. Roger Clemens, Jason Giambi, Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds and Rafael Palmeiro co-star as Roy's teammates, along with Brian McNamee as the "trainer.") Death Wish 7: Kersey's Hunt for Bin Laden (After killing all the thugs in America, Paul Kersey travels to Afghanistan to search for the world's most wanted thug. In the end Kersey kills Bin Laden with his looks.). Blazing Saddles 2: Black Bart in Compton (After riding out of Rock Ridge, Black Bart and the Waco Kid become the law in the gang-infested ruins of Compton, Los Angeles. Black Bart is angered when a punk teenager utters the "Up Yours" line to him). Striptease 2: She Like 'Em Young (Years after fending off the old senator, our female stripper goes into Cougar mode and sinks her claws into a young, dumb actor who enjoys punking his friends). The X-Files 3-D: Mulder and Scully Meet My Favorite Martian (The FBI's paranormal investigators are transported through the office television onto the set of an early 1960s comedy. What Mulder and Scully don't know is, Ray Walston is a real Martian). Mr. and Mrs. Smith 2: Jennifer? Jennifer Who? (Actually a prequel. Following their shoot-ups and making peace in their home, Mr. and Mrs. Smith reflect back to the time when Mr. Smith was married to a woman named Jennifer, and how Mrs. Smith worked her way into his life). Debbie Does Dallas 2008: Romo's New Girlfriend (The star quarterback dumps Jessica Simpson for a hot young cheerleader who loves taking on the team behind his back. Beware of the horrific Debbie-Wade Phillips coach's office scene).

Here's another bad one ... In an American Indoor Football Association playoff game Saturday night in Tupelo, Miss., the Columbus Lions led the Mississippi Mudcats 40-18 at halftime. When it was over, Mississippi won 52-50. http://www.djournal.com/pages/story.asp?ID...ub=1&div=Sports

1) The Spirit of Radio 2) 1980 3) 16 4) At home, listening to the radio (WLS-AM, Chicago) EDIT: Good morning, Sky. You mentioning Tom Sawyer reminds me of when I first heard TS, also on WLS. It came on one morning (like 3 or 4 a.m.) in early '81. The song had a spooky feeling to it at that time of morning, yet because of the great clear-channel signal WLS put out, even all the way to Mississippi, the song sound so cool. I recall hearing TS one more time that day, and then I decided to buy Moving Pictures.

Any alteration of a vehicle license plate - even a simple one like placing a question mark on the existing letters - gives a policeman enough cause to stop someone and ticket the person for the violation, according to a nephew who works as a policeman. As for the policeman's attitude, it seems he was way out of line. However, I can understand why he became agitated. Policemen, including my nephew (a cop in a college town) and two uncles who were veteran cops in one of the most crime-ridden cities in America (Memphis), have to be on the edge when they're at work. Imagine a job where the person you're stopping for a simple violation might have a loaded gun in his hand. One uncle had a partner gunned down in the line of duty. If you constantly question them about an obvious violation, they can become confrontational. But going back to the original post ... Have your day in court and explain the trivial reason why you put the question mark on the tag. There's a chance you can get off with a lesser fine. Speaking of car tags, mine expired May 31. Guess I better renew it or else wind up in a whole heap of trouble with the law.

QUOTE (rushbass @ May 9 2008, 09:50 PM) QUOTE (tupelobarchetta @ May 9 2008, 09:34 PM) What was the last song on a Rush studio album that's more than 10 minutes long? As a bonus, give its run time ... I would think off the top of my head that it has to be The Camera Eye, clocking in at 10:58 Yup .. you got it. Your turn.

It's by "Alice Bowie" - a Cheech Marin character from Cheech & Chong's nightclub routine. A clip of "Alice Bowie" - EDIT: Just heard Big Money on ASOH (via my mp3 player with every Rush album on it). That is Earache at the end.

I didn't start watching The Sopranos until the "Mr. and Mrs. John Sacramoni Request" episode. After I saw it, I thought, what the hell have I been missing. This is great stuff. I bought the DVD sets of every season and have been watching episodes every chance I get. I'm now up to the second part of Season 6. Of course, I watched every episode down the final stretch, but it's going to be fun watching it again - especially when Phil gets his head crushed. "Oh, Shit!"

I get eight hours of sleep every night.

It was funny watching those old videos. Sometimes I ask myself what next generations will post about mine generation as old videos too Rhyvenne, since your teen years were spent in the early-mid '90s, I think the future generations will post clips of grunge bands from that era and say how angry and grungy they sounded and looked. surely... But I'm not made of grunge I like so many things since 70's; 80's and some 90's and 00's. I think people will also speak about heavy metal bands since 1997 on (Nightwish for example) ... and Ceej added great things of the 70's here. I didn't know Heart. Thnaks for sharing. ^^ I think Ann Wilson is the greatest female vocalist in rock history, better than Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Amy Lee, etc. This is one of my favorite Heart songs .... EDIT: Gotta add this one, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5qsO9Ms7Ns She's great, no doubt. She still has it too... I need to see them. EDIT: Gotta add Olivia Newton-John to the list. Yeah, I definitely had a Kristy McNichol crush back then. Let's see, was she on a show called "Family"? Do you remember a movie called Little Darlings? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_darlings Yeah, I do. Was Tatum O'Neal in that as well? And Matt Dillon. Yes, Kristi was on 'Family'. http://dvdtoile.com/ARTISTES/4/4703.jpg

Who's the cat that won't cop out When there's danger all about? CHEF! Can you dig it? My son, who was like 12 or 13 at the time, and I went to an NBA game between the Grizzlies and the Wizards. Isaac Hayes, decked out in a red, white and blue American flag warm-up suit, delivered a fantastic a cappella rendition of the national anthem. After the song ended, my son said, 'Dad, he sounds like Chef on South Park.' I informed him that was the guy who did the voice of Chef. I think my son enjoyed that more than seeing Jordan play. It was also a treat for me, since one of the first 45 singles I ever bought - at age 8 - was the Theme From Shaft.
