  1. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Aug 31 2012, 05:39 PM) I like that that one dude is barefoot. He should do that every night. foot fetish?
  2. "so we're really looking at a fresh approach with this tour." do you think he means it this time?
  3. they're going to surprise us by playing..........................subdivisions.
  4. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Aug 28 2012, 11:14 AM) But "I" want to be the FIRST! no one will be the first because we'll know the setlist before the show starts. that's what happened on the tmt. day before the show there was the rumored setlist with all kinds of crazy talk thrown in, and than the sound check confirmed the rumors.
  5. QUOTE (DistantEarlyRushFan @ Aug 28 2012, 06:37 PM) The Wreckers for sure. It has grown on me immensely. Lyrically has the concept to back it. The bridge has a perfect emotional climax. Someone said the lyrics were shoehorned, and I agree. Some of them are cringe-worthy. "You know how complex women are..." ...I just have trouble following the perspective of narration and it seem cheesy and overreaching they are both cringe-worthy but the wreckers is much more cringe-worthy because it's fresh.
  6. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Aug 28 2012, 05:56 PM) Neither! make that 2 votes for neither.
  7. QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Aug 27 2012, 08:38 PM) Snakes and Arrows felt like it was loaded with filler; s & a felt like it was a load of crap.
  8. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Aug 27 2012, 02:46 PM) How about the setlist not being published at all here? (even with the spoiler) And that if somebody wants to know, they can PM somebody who attended and have it be known that way. Just a suggestion. that taking away alot of the fun leading up to the start of the tour and getting confirmation. even if posting the setlist wasn't allowed, people would still be posting with their likes, dislikes, or utter hate for the setlist.
  9. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Aug 26 2012, 08:08 PM) QUOTE (Empty Mindless Spectre @ Aug 25 2012, 01:56 PM) QUOTE (FountainOfSyrinx @ Jul 24 2012, 11:19 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jul 24 2012, 10:36 PM) QUOTE (HigherWater @ Jul 24 2012, 07:58 PM) Good God! I've been away from the forum for about a week and it seems like in that time the haters have completely taken over! Why is Rush not aloud to write a song with a verse/chorus/bridge alignment (The Wreckers) or a song with a nice bouncy melody (Wish Them Well)? CA is a good if not great balanced record that the guys can be very proud of. I cannot believe that a Forum member would say, "I'd be embarrassed for Rush if they played that song on the radio." What a worthless, obnoxious thing to say. I'm sorry but seriously, as much as I hate Superconductor I would never say I was embarrassed for Rush. What embarrasses me are Rush fans that act like turds every time the guys try to give us something new. Like the new album, hate the new album-- Whatever. But don't for a second feel embarrassed for Rush-- They are a lot better than you! It's sub-par album, and to me The Wreckers is one of the worst tracks....doesn't sound like Rush or represent any aspect of Rush that I like.. lol. Define Rush. Please. Funny you should say "define Rush", because that is exactly what I was thinking. IMO, if there is one song on Clockwork Angels that "defines" the trademark sound of Rush, it is The Wreckers. Sounds like something that was thrown together and highly influenced by Nick/Foo Fighters for sure.. without a doubt.
  10. QUOTE (Mr. IsNot @ Aug 19 2012, 03:50 PM) I don't think the album is lacking anything, it's just excessive and redundant in certain areas is all. i agree it's redundant in certain areas. they said they were going to strip down the sound which i think they did a little better but the repetition is still there along with some wordy lyrics that needed to be stripped down in certain areas.
  11. i'm on average listening to less than one song a week, if that.
  12. QUOTE (NYM86 @ Aug 18 2012, 05:54 PM) QUOTE (mmm_donuts @ Aug 18 2012, 02:02 PM) I hate to be a buzzkill here, but to me it goes on too long and gets too repetitive. It's a nice song and I'll enjoy it in concert, but after the solo I think it starts to sound like a typical sappy power ballad that goes on too long. Geddy's vocals get a little too whiny for me as well. Maybe if they chop 1 1/2 to 2 minutes off the end, then it may be more tolerable. I actually prefer Halo Effect to The Garden because it's shorter and makes it's point without the need to go over the top. Unfortunately for Halo Effect, I have a feeling that it will be like Different Strings...a nice song that gets forgotten. I've been a guitarist for a long time and when I hear the same simple chord progressions over and over I start tuning out. Long time rush fan here, been following TRF for a while...not a hater troll, just giving my honest opinion. Yep...exactly this for me. if you don't care for it it's going to sound alot longer in concert. it's a snoozer.
  13. QUOTE (clearingsky @ Aug 17 2012, 09:41 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Aug 17 2012, 09:21 PM) let's just say the garden is not on my playlist. it's tough to listen to. Why limit yourself to "playlists" I just don't get that. not limited myself at all, but i tried listened to it separate from the album and it still doesn't sound good to me.

  15. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Aug 14 2012, 10:01 PM) QUOTE (Brava Doh! @ Aug 14 2012, 06:30 PM) If they liked the remaster of Mission that came out a while back, that version is made to do live with a string section...if they remember doing it like that, and like it. Mission would sound really good with strings! mission with strings? wow they'd be spoiling us. that's a definite pee break.
  16. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 15 2012, 05:21 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Aug 15 2012, 06:16 PM) QUOTE (eshine @ Aug 15 2012, 05:14 PM) Well, I for one am thrilled to hear about Neil's new apprach to his solo and drumming in general on this tour. i am also but i'll believe it when i see it or hear about it when the tour starts. Is that not enough for you? yea but there's been many times where they've told us one thing and not followed through so he might just talking like this because he's excited. wouldn't surprise me if he did the same ole'.
