  1. Just watched the season 3 finale of The Boys on Amazon Prime, and I spotted Hughie wearing a Hold Your Fire t-shirt near the end of the episode. It's a particular variation of that shirt that I don't think I've ever seen elsewhere out in the wild. I've attached a few screen shots. Stoked as it was the very first Rush album I fell in love with.

    YYZ from R40 Live

A bit too stoned as he seems to confess during Tom Sawyer.
  3. Interesting-I'd never thought of Different Strings or Vital Signs that way. Lessons sounds like it's about Alex's pursuing and realizing his rock star ambitions in spite of the resistance he was met with from his parents early on.
  4. Lorraine Matrix Atlanta your right that is an awesome boot +1-listening to it right now-awesome!
  5. I've posted this elsewhere before, but since this thread is all about the best-sounding boots out there, here's my favorite, so far, from the R40 tour: http://youtu.be/Ll5NmmaMTW0
  6. I'm much the same as Lorraine . . . I enjoy the energy of the performances. Tony . . . . Come over to the dark side . . . . we have bootlegs . . . . . . I actually have lots of them, including vinyl from the 70s but I never listen to them. I acquire them just for the sake of it. So, you keep your comics bagged and boarded and never read them. That's pretty geeky. I have been collecting Star Wars figs since the mid Nineties when they reissued everything. I have two of everything. All of my small figs are still mint on card sealed in comic book bags. Luckily I can't read my Star Wars figures like a comic book. May The Farce Be With You. The farts are surely with me today. Too many midi-chlorians, I guess...

  8. Neil's best voice work? The narrations in The Necromancer.
  9. Don't forget "Subdivisions". Deceased newscaster Mark Dailey did the "Subdivisions" bit.
  10. We can talk about how fat Alex is, or how he has such a bad hairpiece. I was hoping we could talk about his guitar, but .... Let's talk about his backing vocals! How about that "subdivisions" refrain from A Show Of Hands? Alex does great backup vocals. :) Puts all he has into that "subdivisions." Gets as close to the mic as possible too. :) You mean the fake singing? :D Yes, that's right, the fake singing! :) I can't WAIT for the "Alex sucked this tour" threads. :eyeroll: Alex sucked this tour... I could barely hear his vocals ;)
  11. RE: Geddy-I really dig his vocals on Vapor Trails. He really stretched-out and experimented on that album with a level of passion and expressiveness that's wholly unique to the catalog.

  13. According to Geddy, they didn't go back and "fix" anything in the studio on ATWAS, and he was so irked by some of the unfixed bits that ESL was overly corrected and tweaked in the studio, which robbed it of the whole live atmosphere entirely. ESL was essentially a studio album with some live tracks mixed in, whereas ATWAS was really live and without a net. I forget which interview he talked about all this in detail, but that was his description of the difference between those two albums. He talked about it during his solo appearance on That Metal Show. Speaking of fixes, I know Alex's solo on RTB got fixed on R40 Live. Anyone notice any other fixes? I'm surprised YYZ was left untouched.
  14. I've probably watched some of your footage from those shows!
