  1. This was laid to rest hours ago, come'on dudes let's just bury this thread!
  2. Going to see this in all the available dimensions at a matinee tomorrow! Until then I'll avoid reading the thread but may post some of my comments on it tomorrow!
  3. Try old faithful which is shutting down your PC, cut the power for a minute and then reboot. Other than that what changes did you make to the PC since this started happening, install any new programs mebbe?
  4. Necro... Presto... You guys are both very much loved regulars here, and this whole fiasco has just gotten out of control. Let it go, maybe get away from the PC for the rest of the evening or something and just let her go brothers. Hurling cyber insults always ends this way and it's beneath you both. Really. Maybe start tomorrow fresh and start a thread on a topic you both enjoy. Maybe a TYPE O NEGATIVE thread or something and I'll be there to shoot the shit also.

  7. At our place we (adults) love the Harry Potter series. Somehow it brings us back to our childhood when you'd sit mouth agape watching these sorts of movies, rapt with some sort of magical fascination and not even knowing enough to give a shit whether the acting was good, or the story was sound or whether it would win any major awards for being mind blowingly intellectual or anything. These movies are great for what they are. Kids movies. Lots of action, story lines that capture a kids imagination, and sequels that see the characters grow up a bit as the viewership does as well. This is very much the Star Wars of this generation, so let'em enjoy it and if you have a little inner child left at all. relax and enjoy some pretty fast past and amusing movies. That being said we thought the last movie was the darkest sure (ala Empire Strikes Back) but overall it really wasn't that great and mayeb the weakest in the series so far. Not just that but seems to us like they have an awful lot to accomplish during the next two films do they not? I mean we haven't read the books or anything but it seems there are a million and one things left to deal with such as the half dozen or so Voldemort relics they've yet to even start to look for rilly.

  9. QUOTE (Pags @ Jan 11 2010, 08:51 AM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jan 11 2010, 08:29 AM) QUOTE (Pags @ Jan 11 2010, 08:01 AM) Without question, Kilmer's best performance (aside from Tombstone). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3PgfIa92qU Wow, that was funny. "DON'T TOUCH IT!" It's one of my all time favorite Entourage scenes. Kilmer was a riot! That's a great clip for sure! Still my favorite Kilmer performance of all time is certainly his role in TOP SECRET. Absolute genius!
  10. QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jan 10 2010, 11:28 PM) Ooops. Jack might flex and close this one too, so I better stop being sarcastic. Sowwy. Necro. The past couple of years I've known you from TRF you seem like a pretty good guy and smart guy, so frankly it boggles my imagination to see you post disrespectful comments like this. C'mon man, you're better than that!
  11. I'm rilly looking forward to trying that out sometime soon! -------------------^ Myself we just finished our first play-through of Dragon's Age Origins. On one hand such an amazing game, on the other hand soooo fundamentally flawed for an RPG. I can't help but think with a little extra polish and a better levelling system how epic it might have been. Regardless much like Mass Effect or Fallout 3, there are just so many massive storyline decisions to be made I am tempted to replay it to see a different ending. We are also on the last stage of BRUTAL LEGEND so that will be a wrap for a couple of games and time to start something new. I did start dabbling in Saints Row 2 a bit. A good enough time killer I suppose but as expected it's more like a last-gen GTA but thrice as glitch ridden. Oh course I still pop in Demon's Souls now and then but the game really requires you to commit to several hours of gameplay to even hope to acheive anything at all. Easily the hardest game I've ever played, but so cool and creepy, atmospheric and moody - great game for those with the spine to stick with it. Other than that we may start a new game soon, possibly Darksiders on 360 which looks quite interesting for sure!
  12. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Jan 8 2010, 11:40 AM) I liked the one in Raiders Of The Lost Ark where that big Arabian dude is swinging the sword at Indy, and he pulls his revolver and drops him. Classic dude! One of my favorites for sure is the scene from the first MATRIX where Neo and Trinity show up in the lobby of the building to rescue Morpheus. Style and substance and just pure unadulterated jaw dropping awesomeness.
  13. Anyone else wind up seeing this? We watched it this week not having really heard much about it. AS a sci-fi geek I thought this movie was excellent, very original, great acting and a lot more fast paced than films like 2001. Highly recommended!
  14. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Apr 1 2009, 07:38 AM) Mommy's sticking her bum out a bit too! Too cute!! Yeah mommy really knows how to shake that ass to boost the shovel sales I'll tell ya!
  15. QUOTE (Mara @ Dec 14 2009, 09:32 AM) I've seen the trailers for this and it looks utterly horrifying. Apparently the writers weren't creative enough to make Holmes' supreme intelligence enough of a hook, as the advances show him slugging it out with what are presumably the bad guys. Cage match with Professor Moriarty? I bet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is spinning in his grave. I agree with you 100%. I watch a trailer *once* and I can tell whether it may be of interest to me personally or a total waste of time. This one looks astoundingly retarded and I'll never watch it even if it gets rave reviews.

  17. QUOTE (Cygnalschick @ Dec 6 2009, 08:22 PM) Damn I'm getting excited just reading this thread. I have yet to hear this band, but have heard nothing but great things about them. I'm planning to see them with Cynic and Scale the Summit in january....that should be a great show That's a great lineup you are going to see! Haven't seen Cynic live before but they are an excellent prog metal band.

  19. I never knew we had this thread! Anyways I am a big time Christmas grouch and way behind schedule already this year. Been working from home the last months stuck on my PC all day so I have all my 20 thousand something tunes on shuffle and #^@%# Christmas music has been coming on all the time so I just deleted all those songs. True story.

  21. I dabble with graphics work now and then and I know other people do as well. So us what ya got Photoshoppers! For Christmas we are scanning a bunch of old family photos for my mother in law. Most of them require just basic touch-ups, but then I came across this one and *gacked* with much dismay. Results turned our pretty decent though all things considered! 22. Oh and if anyone else is digging the heavier prog, I'm totally addicted to a new band called (Sic)monic. Yes I love these guys, occasional Cookie Monster vocals and all! (Sic)monic Site Acidic Epiphanies is my favorite track of theirs currently - check it out if you dare!
  23. QUOTE (nappy2112 @ Dec 3 2009, 05:43 PM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Dec 3 2009, 04:26 PM) I never saw this thread before, so just searched for it as I sit here listening to "Swim to the Moon". No doubt lots of people into the heavier prog versus Dream Theater sound would *love* this shit. Great album! can't take the cookie monster , they should put warnings on cd's for that......now I sound like Tipper Gore. As a metal head I for one find it refreshing that some of these newer heavier prog bands put a bit more energy into their vocals instead of singing like sissies half the time! Even VOIVOD-wise I prefer Eric Forrest's screeching vocals to the Denis' conservative style.
