  1. Good thing Rush doesn't have to play U2's material. If Ged had to play those bass lines and Neil had to play those simple drumbeats I think they would Both fall asleep.
  2. Some great pics and Geddy swearing. Thanks Tony R.

    Really?

The only ICON I want is if CA has a song on it called Icon. Otherwise.........
  4. Yes they have went on record saying they were disappointed with it. It was either Geddy or Alex or both. Somebody help me out here:)
  5. I think it would be a cool idea to re-record it. Something they have never attempted before and who knows the songs might come out better and the arrangements might change slightly. I bet they could get their cost back at least by marketing Vapor Trails 2.0 Heck maybe Lifeson could even put some real solos in there:)
  6. Two words......Vapor Trails. Everything else should be second fiddle at this point. I would prefer they just re-record the whole record instead. They could do that during the CA sessions if they go smooth. Wishful thinking.
  7. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jul 6 2011, 09:52 AM) I really can't see how Clockwork Angels will be released by the end of 2011. Finished in the preliminary stages? That seems more likely. I predict a spring 2012 release. Nice sign in your signature Kelly D.
  8. Duran Duran. Rush would be guaranteed an unbelievable number of cougars showing up....LMAO!! But seriously I wouldn't mind that. Duran Duran are good musicians in their own right and a fabulous bass player in John Taylor. Not sure DD's fans would like Rush though. And maybe vice versa LOL
  9. I'm really anxious to hear a record where Nick was there from the beginning. I feel the quality will be there with Nick. He is building a stellar track record as a producer and I'm sure he won't RUSH anything along just to get it out there. Look for an epic release my friends. In Nick We Trust:)

    I'm Baaaaaack

QUOTE (CMWriter @ Jul 2 2011, 01:30 PM) QUOTE (Undemanding Contact @ Jul 2 2011, 01:17 PM) ... and I think that's about it. ...Oh yeah! I almost forgot: Cozy Toes got the boot. Wait what? I missed something, it seems. When did this happen? I was wondering why I hadn't seen CT in so long. About time. I don't want this forum to turn into Counterparts. Although to tell you the truth I haven't even checked out Counterparts in a long time. I am even a member but that was my impression last time I was there.
  11. QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Jun 30 2011, 08:22 PM) I heard repeatedly from the guys that they planned to enter the studio in September and go from there. I also read that they have anywhere from 6 to 7 songs written, which the latter being the latest I have read. With that in mind, I could honedtly see them get that album out this year. It's possible. I'm being optimistic in this case. You heard repeatedly where?
  12. See there are lots of people that love Time And Motion.
  13. Time And Motion has always been my fav track from T4E. I really like Color Of Right as well. I was disappointed when I bought this record at midnight on the day of release but it did grow on me more than any other Rush record. Usually I like Rush stuff right off the bat. SnA is still hit and miss for me:)
  14. Permanent Waves Moving Pictures Signals Grace Under Pressure Power Windows What a 5 record run. Mine all came back to back.
  15. That is a draw if there ever was one. That being said if I had to choose it goes to MP. Perfect production and pacing and just the right mix between prog rock and mainstream rock. A perfect storm and lightning in a bottle. That about sums it up:)
  16. I would hope by October they are back in the studio to finish what should be a great record. We have been waiting so long I almost feel like celebrating that this tour is over finally. LOL I feel like Jerry Stiller.......c'mon boys.......breaks over.....lets get that record out:)
  17. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 27 2011, 03:28 PM) How the Fu*k can someone not like Anthem ? I don't know? They come from the Gaga Forum Believe it or not By-Tor is one of my least fav Rush songs. I hate that noisy middle section. Always been a skip track for me.
  18. Anthem is great and a great guitar solo as well. One of my favs from FBN as well as Best I Can and In The End.
  19. This is like comparing apples and oranges. I prefer Neil's style but Stewart's playing is just so damn unique and kind of weird that even elite drummers would have a hard time duplicating the feel exact. Stewart is known for having tempo problems(speeding up) and Neil seems to nail the tempos. Even is they are slower than record it's because he wants it that way. Copelands snare sound rules but his toms not so much. Neil's toms sound much better. Stewart is a slightly out of control drummer and Neil is a very much in control drummer. Just different personalities on the kit but both great and both have been inspirational to me.
  20. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 18 2011, 05:32 PM) They are Not a better live act than Iron Maiden .I am not talking about which music you think is better, just the whole Live presentation . Not even close. Don't believe me ? Try YouTube I have seen Maiden twice(though not in a while) and they are one of my favs but I enjoy Rush concerts more. I respect your opinion though metaldad:)
  21. I posted that link on another message board. The late career accolades just keep rolling in.
  22. Thanks for this. Neil seems in high spirits. Wonder how long the full interview is?
  23. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 15 2011, 03:54 PM) QUOTE (presto123 @ Jun 15 2011, 03:46 PM) This board is mild compared to some. You should see the ripping Queensryche gets on a certain board. You would think Geoff Tate(singer) insulted all the posters mothers or something. That is because everyone knows [except Tate himself] that he shit on their legacy and they are a completely different band now . Rush fans are just picky Yeah...I wasn't all that crazy about SnA but I didn't call Geddy names or anything:)
