  1. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 02:21 PM) QUOTE (FountainOfSyrinx @ Jun 26 2012, 03:18 PM) Alex still smokes weed? Err. . . no, of course not. Appearing on the Trailer Park Boys and the cover of High Times meant nothing. Carry on. I wonder if there's a Kelly G?
  2. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 26 2012, 11:15 AM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 26 2012, 02:13 AM) I hold my knife and fork the right handed way, probably all this is because I had to use right handed stuff and adapted. I don't get it. Aren't knives and forks the same whether someone is right handed or left-handed or ambidextrous? I'm the opposite of you, I do most everything right handed including eating and guitar, but when it comes to hockey/baseball etc I shoot left. Probably why I suck. Some left-handed people, maybe most, need to have the knife in the left hand to cut food because their right is not strong/dexterous/stable enough...
  3. QUOTE (presto123 @ Jun 26 2012, 02:12 AM) Mike Portnoy said in an interview that these two are his fav records this year. I previewed about half of every Van Halen track and it didn't grab me at all. Maybe I need to give it a better shot but it didn't sound like classic VH to me. Link?
  4. QUOTE (Babycat @ Jun 26 2012, 11:27 AM) QUOTE (fledgehog @ Jun 26 2012, 05:16 PM) gets in the way when i'm trying to eat, drink from water fountains, or drive with the windows down too. Tell me about it... Apart from driving. Have you got long hair Baby?
  5. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Jun 26 2012, 01:14 PM) Lately it has been getting in the way so that's why I'm chopping it off soon. Time for a change. Go for the bald look like Natalie Portman in V For Vendetta! You know it makes sense!
  6. We can't neglect him. Though Geddy has his own special place in my esteem. Except that Neil's a beast. He could easily regenerate himself. Geddy's a quasi-beast. He would slowly regenerate. Al... he would need help. A lot of slow, patient, sensual, sweet sexy therapeutic help. Yeah. A lot. Of that last kind of help. Best. Post. Ever! See, we need 3 of us because we need to work in shifts. That there is a lot of man!! Hey, outta the way! Alex is mine for all the nursing he desires! No, I'm not sharing him either! (And no, I don't care what my hubby would think of the situation! Ha!) I'd give Ged some 'slow, patient, sweet sexy therapeutic help' in the massage department..(!) You're all mad! Mad nurses!

It's like clapping when your grandad sings one of his old army songs, you clap because you love him not because he is good. Yes. Tattoo is embarrassingly bad, and ADKOT can't even compare to CA. (It's like Van Halen's Superconductor) Tattoo is ok, but it's also the weakest track on the album by quite a way... Read the lyrics. First you'll do some of this: Then you'll do some of this: And finally you'll do a little of this: Not once will you do this: Why you focusing on that song there's 13 other songs on there? It's like watching a train wreck, ya know? You just can't stop focusing on it! It sounds pretty good to me... What do you think of the other songs?
  9. QUOTE (jdouglas @ Jun 25 2012, 11:38 PM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 25 2012, 02:58 PM) It's better than Grace Under Pressure which has some tunes that don't appeal to me so much like The Body Electric, Red Lenses and The Enemy Within... The body electric is one of Alex's best solos from the 80s. I don't think there is a bad song on GUP really. PW is a tad light for my taste in parts... Still, meh on the new album...Its in my car CD and I'm only on song 5...hoping for some better songs in the remaining bunch. On a side note, I really like the last song on my fav headache, just heard that is week. That's a good song. Yeah but that's your opinion, and you already saw mine...
  10. Well done Duo, when you reach the next level will make you into Trio!

You need a hair cut. A what?? *Hairs cut. I might cut a couple off... From where? Errr the very edges... No intentional bald spot? No that would look silly... Mind you in the distant past I've had clumps cut off, burned, trapped in various implements and whatnot and the strand/clump had to be sliced, and the bad patch always blended in pretty quickly...
  14. QUOTE (presto123 @ Jun 26 2012, 01:41 AM) Well.......Geoff has been saying that the guys had no interest in stepping up to the plate in the song writing dept. If they release a record we will soon see if he was right. Do we really know that Rockenfield can't write? Didn't he get credit for writing the only thing on DTC that sounded like classic QR?(At The Edge) To me At The Edge sounds like it came right off of Promised Land. One of the few bright spots of DTC. Well Wilton wrote Deliverance, co-wrote Child of Fire, Before the Storm, Walk in the Shadows, I Dream in Infrared, Chemical Youth Spreading the Disease, Speak, Revolution Calling (my faves off Mindcrime) with Tate, Operation Mindcrime with Degarmo and Tate, Surgical Strike with Degarmo and so on and so on. So I don't see why he can't be one who steps up. And maybe the other guitar player can contribute and the new vocalist too.
  15. Clockwork Angels leads by 20 votes to 5 so far... I've not voted yet.
  16. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 25 2012, 09:09 PM) It's a great album IMO...but it's also not a Rush album. If Alex had been writing with him, the album would never have turned out the way it did. It does have a Rush flavour to it...moreso than Victor at least. But, it's still very different from a Rush album too. It's more RUSH than your mum, that'll do for me, it's a RUSH album!
  17. QUOTE (thirteen @ Jun 25 2012, 10:24 PM) Anyone else think Pearts best drumming was during the synth years? I didn't like the electric drums as much, the thin plastic snare sound, I'll always prefer acoustic drums.

You can give yourself a foot job!

So you're a leftie? And a proud one! I'm a leftie too, except for batting, golf and I hold my knife and fork the right handed way, probably all this is because I had to use right handed stuff and adapted.
  23. I'm listening to this again! Nice guitar work from Skolnick and Peterson... Great drumming from Gene Hoglan on this too! Production sounds clear and sharp!
