  1. I took my Mom to the Paul Simon show in Pittsburgh on Monday night. We were both so impressed with the musicianship and songwriting that we are writing a review of the show. However because our seats were so far away that we were not able to take any discernible pictures. If you attended this show and would like to be part of our review, please submit your pictures and we will include them. Thank you. You can check out our past reviews at https://thedragonline.wordpress.com/
  2. Thank you, my husband and I have a concept album and we have been told by a couple close friends that the music is too complicated and the lyrics are too deep, the majority of the listening audience wouldn't get it, and that we should dumb down our songs. Rush said themselves that our audience is just as smart as we are. If an individual or band is blessed to create, why should the work ever be dumbed down. Inspiration should never be stifled.
  3. Alex is really very super nice. I met him and Geddy on a meet greet on the Vapor Trails tour. I gave Alex and Geddy both equally sincere compliments, and Alex got so excited at both of them that he blurted out thank you to the entire room twice and got very emotional. He made me feel like I was the rock star and that he wanted to meet me. It changed my life, I was inspired from that point on to know that the music that I create and co-create can inspire other people in the same way. So I thank you Alex for that life changing interaction.
  4. My Dad has taught me a lot over the years about self diagnosis and natural supplements. What I have found to be that most disorders and illnesses are caused by a nutritional deficiency and can be resolved with the proper supplements and natural remedies. There are genetic predispositions for certain illnesses but they can be resolved by getting the proper nutrition that the body needs to work optimally.
  5. I love your post Ged Jeans, Rush brings out our deepest sentiments and most poetic thoughts. I have been listening to them since I was a five year old little girl in 1978 and I saw my first Rush concert in 1987 at age 14. They turned me into an instant musician after that concert and I am forever grateful. Because they fostered my love of music, I met my lead singer husband and now we have a concept album. It is amazing what inspiration can do! Just remember although we may be cast outs, that Rush fans are among some of the most successful people on the planet; it was their music that us thinking outside the box and never giving up!
  6. He is as hot as ever. I have been attending Rush shows since 1987, and what I like the most about the past decade is how he has loosened up and showed off his assets. My lead singer husband looks a little like Geddy and he is as hot as ever too, I am very fortunate!
  7. Bat out of Hell is my favorite track. My husband always plays it on the jukebox when we're out and sings along. I have to learn it on guitar so that we can play it live.
  8. Our spirit often taps into our future. Songwriters often express their destiny in metaphors. My husband wrote a song in his teens that became his destination in his early twenties. Neil closed every chapter in Ghost Rider with lyrics that related to his tragedy. It is important as artists to express what our spirit is writing, but it is also important to heal from mental and physical limitations from our creative endeavors and inspire other people in the process.
  9. I kinda feel the same way. I love to create, I am the Mom of dragons, cats, songs and articles.
  10. Available Light Available Light is a great song, such a deep premise lyrically of reflection with an upbeat melody...I love the depths of their songwriting
  11. I love the visual effect of the lyrics in Far Cry, my husband and I always play it on the jukebox when we're out
  12. I agree "Time Stand Still" is probably the poppiest Rush song. I remember when Hold Your Fire came out Geddy said he was just into writing great vocal melodies. Hold Your Fire is full of them.

  17. Geddy can still sing, maybe not like he used to in the seventies, but so what, Rush is still a working touring band 38 years after their inception. Geddy still has the energy and presence of a teenager, and it is an amazing quality. They work the songs for Geddy voice now and they still sound amazing. Vocal chords change over time but the energy of Rush has not.
  18. Nice collection for being only 17 and being a fan for only two years. It took me years to assimilate a similar collection. In addition to the mainstream fan items, I have 2 Snakes and Arrows Geddy Lee Guitar picks, a picture with fellow Rushians under Geddy Lee's bass at the Hard Rock in Toronto, Neil Peart drum sticks that I won at Rushcon, a Neil Peart radio interview from 1986 and 1991, an autographed Rush in Rio dragon poster, and a couple pictures of my dragon up on the Rushshowphotos site at the Pittsburgh shows on Snakes and Arrows and Clockwork Angels. It is a pretty cool collection and I am very fortunate.
  19. History runs in cycles. We are now once again in a time when those songs {RUSH songs} ,written in the 80's are relevant again…According to some theories, thirty years is known as an Omega cycle, So in that assumption we would be at the beginning of another one now...all we need do is look around the world, With all of the current situations in the USA as well as in other nations regarding the financial, social, and moral status of a nation, we see the character of the populace in general is being adapted to the rise of the progressive socialist mentality, and the world culture in relation to those songs is just as revealing today as it was thirty years ago... “Conform or be Cast out is once again becoming the mantra”…
  20. ANd Im one of those female fans in the audience. least the bathroom line doesnt get to long ! True. I have never stood in a long restroom line at a Rush show either. Thanks, TBR. Yes, it is one of the benefits of being a woman at a Rush concert. I even made note of it in my Time Machine Review. http://ezinearticles...lons&id=5216622
  21. Thanks for sharing your story. Your daughter is adorable, the guys in Rush certainly do appreciate their younger fans!

  23. They write music that comes natural to them, I do the same thing. Also, to fit Neil's unusual lyrics, they have to be flexible with their time signatures.
