  1. Hope I'm wrong, but if I'm Geddy I don't know if I want to expose myself to the questions that might result. When it was announced I thought the book tour was a no-brainer, but after thinking about the logistics, I'm not so sure anymore. I really hope I'm wrong.
  2. There's a fair bit of silent 8mm film out there. In a lot of cases the sync job is distracting and it's better just being silent, but this is the best job I've seen even if I'm not really into the Frankenstein approach as a purist. It's really cool that a date may finally be established for this because much of the silent 8's remain mostly unidentified. Definitely an enjoyable watch.
  3. I care much more about music than movies but if the movie is a favorite, l want it on my shelf.
  4. That's one reason I buy CD's. Other is a lot of the music I like isn't online anyway. That said I'll listen to you tube for stuff I already have for convenience or if there's something new I might want to check out but that's just in the background and not very meaningful to me. I tend to buy direct from the artist for the newer releases and I try to make semi-regular trips to the record store for used CDs and see what finds me. Of course, I've been dealing with space issues for most of the year now and I think about culling the library on a regular basis.
  5. Counterparts Tour was great. Prelude was a shocker. The Counterparts songs were amazing and Leave That Thing Alone and Xanadu were otherworldly.
  6. I hope all of the 2015 masters see a CD release. Even the live albums. The best CD versions of Presto and Roll The Bones that I've heard are the Audio Fidelity releases. They aren't major improvements but there is improved clarity and slightly more punch.
  7. Planned on getting the Japanese CD but now I'm not so sure. From what I've been reading the 2015 Magee master was messed with on this release and it runs slightly faster. I'm mystified why this was done if that's true. So I'm hesitant at this moment.
  8. Andy Curran has been quoted in interviews from several years ago saying he'd left the label. He's not in the Moving Pictures reissue liner notes. I don't have the Signals reissue so I can't say if he is listed.
  9. I'm holding off for a while. I'd be getting this essentially for the new song. Already have the remixes from the deluxe edition.
  10. Instruments aren't really in my Rush wheelhouse but there's no mention of it in the Moving Pictures and Signals Tourbooks. If "Merely Players" is to be believed (hit or miss depending on the reference) Geddy used it for a few songs on Signals in the studio. As a sole reference, I'm not sure if I believe that.
  11. Rush Through Time Picture Disc (Vinyl Very Good, Die Cut Cover Good) -- $40
  12. I've seen a few of these before in my travels. I don't remember seeing any record company markings on it which leads me to believe it was a custom creation. Also the font used doesn't match what was used at the time. I'm sure it will interest someone at the right price as some collectors don't care if something is official or not. Considering those factors maybe $20 to $30? That's just a guess.
  13. That would be cool but I don't think Alex wants to commit to a tour. Maybe a few gigs here and there but that's really not a part of his life anymore.
  14. Thanks. I'm going to check that out to see if it's what I'm looking for.
  15. Dream Theater really isn't about hits. They just do what they do even though they've mostly stayed in their comfort zone for a while now.
  16. Rush - Signals (West German original "atomic" face CD some writing on disc face) $8
  17. Glad you like it. I'm ordering the Japanese stand alone CD for more than I want to pay and I'm hoping the mastering is the same and not a previous mastering. The CD has been my level of investment for these 40's since 2112.
  18. Are you saying Andy Curran still works for Anthem and Pegi is more than just a consultant/gatekeeper for Rush?
  19. That's my favorite song on Feedback. I'll pop Feedback in just about every summer. Really good summer album. Would have loved to have them perform it live.
