  1. It is a little strange that the first tour has about a half-dozen or so recordings available and the Fly By Night, Caress Of Steel and 2112 tours clock in with with five known recordings from that era combined. Things don't really start to get hopping again until the All The World's A Stage Tour
  2. Geddy once said that he reformed his ways and became "good."
  3. I'll go with the original Japanese CD. (Haven't gotten the Japanese vinyl yet.) Then maybe the Mobile Fidelity.
  4. The Fans: Your Role In Rock was the theme. Billy Squier, Pete Townshend, Ian Hunter. I forget who else. Quite the historical document. If i'm honest though, I just listened to the side with Neil. The '80s seemed to be the decade of syndication with this kind of stuff. Now that you mention it, i may have a drummer's special with Neil around here somewhere. I've at least heard of one. I have two views on ABC 1974: 1) The release on vinyl is top notch. The sound is excellent. The vinyl packaging is fantastic. The historical representation of the concert is great. For this reason, I probably should have added it to the photos I took above. 2) Here's my other view. This is a bootleg. Why? Well, it wasn't released by Anthem or Mercury or Roadrunner...but at the same time, no one from the band or its representatives have opposed the release (it was sold on Amazon, for Pete's sake!). The other reason why I would consider it a bootleg is that the exact same material from that concert is avaialble on the bootleg Fifth Order of the Angels (among other substandard recordings). I have two copies of this album...one the original black vinyl, the other the brown and oranges Records Store Day 2013 Euro limited release. Overall, these are fantastic and I'm thrilled to have them in my collection, however, when it comes time to share the covers of the boots I have, they will be featured in that pile. I'm avoiding this because of the rumor that these recordings were from an MP3 source. Otherwise, I'd be all in. Until I can get a defintive answer, I'm holding off. I already have multiple copies of this on bootleg vinyl and CD from non-MP3 sources. At least one of them is a pre-radio broadcast. The ABC pressing have much better art though. I just don't like the idea of buying MP3s. Never have. But the history of this recording is obvious.
  5. I've got this bad boy on CD. So Do I. I love this, but I still haven't decided if I need a vinyl copy.
  6. Put that video next to context in the dictionary.
  7. Neil's looks legit to me. It's Geddy's that I'd have some questions about. $500 seems a little high to me. I'd let the market decide this one.
  8. I didn't really feel the need myself, but I'm happy for everyone that did go. www.rushisaband.com has some videos of the experience that you will probably want to see.
  9. That's awesome....and a personalized greeting from Geddy AND Neil!
  10. There's a Countdown Picture disc (Rush P10 with New World Man as the B-side) of the space shuttle Columbia (It's roughly shaped like the space shuttle.) Is that what you mean? I believe Countdown was used to wake up the crew on one of the missions several years ago. Is that it? It's also possible that something was made just for NASA and not available to the public.
  11. Don't have anything from South America except the Anthology from Venezuela, That cover screams 80s. That Rush Through Time Picture Disc is nice too. May have an extra of those lying around, actually. I'm covered here save for the aformentioned Test for Echo disc (Which continues to look very sweet, by the way) and I'm still trying to figure out if the Red Clockwork Angels is for real too. I've heard nothing one way or the other. Those 12 inch Anthems are kind of tough to find too. I've been looking for The Weapon for a while (primarily because of Count Floyd.) Great pictures so far.
  12. I know I'd be doomed when I saw this thread. Those in Canada are so fortunate because a lot of this stuff is either not available or very hard to find in the US. I took me almost 20 years to find a copy of the Black Archives cover. For the longest time i thought this was a first pressing since it was different than the more common gray cover but it turns out that it's a reissue. i still don't understand the story behind it and why this is so rare compared to the gray cover. I've always found it difficult to find. It was only pressed in canada and it has the custom blue labels with the star man logo on it. Maybe that's why? I'm baffled.
  13. It is a radio broadcast recording from Rolling Stone Magazine Productions distributed to radio stations for play during the week of 9/13 - 9/18 1982. It's called "The Continuous History of Rock and Roll - Great Bass". It's an house long broadcast featuring The Who, Cream, Argent, The Kinks, Genesis, and of course, Rush. The Rush tracks on the broadcast are Freewill and Tom Sawyer. Each day of the week, a different artist is featured on Side Four: 9/13 Jack Bruce 9/14 John Entwhistle 9/15 Jim Rodford (Kinks) 9/16 Rick Wills (Foreigner) 9/17 Geddy 9/18 Mike Rutherford I haven't listened to this yet as it only came in the other day. I've been collecting radio shows on vinyl for a while now and this was my latest addition. I'll be posting the cue sheets of my shows in a bit (lots to post here to share...just need the time to do it). These broadcasts are so cool because they are snapshots in time, including commercials! I have one like this but it was for Broadcast in 1984 and features Neil. Radio was sure much different back then. I prefer the Rush specific shows, but I do have some various artists that include Rush.
  14. Looks like you found the "It's a Rap trilogy" as I like to call it. They were released separately at the same time. I think Roll The Bones (single and album) has the distinction of having the most promotion of any Rush album when you consider the singles, commercial and promotional on various formats. You're probably going to hate me, but I think I have an extra "Neil speaks" around here if you want it. (For less than the ebay price obviously) That In Store Sprecial is pretty cool too. I like the bio on the back also. This seems to be the first promotional Rush compilation that has surfaced to date. Where were you last night? I've already purchased these. 15. Certainly this takes precedence, but after he's covered I wouldn't turn down a chance to trade for one with someone who has an extra. I could offer some album flats, a 45 or a promo poster or something depending on your preferences and likes..
  16. Nice! Looks like Neil got it first.
  17. Still a newb. I think I'm up to 40 now since 1986. Every US leg since. . Record is 8 on the Vapor Trails Tour Decided to bag AC at the last minute and be content with Hershey.
  18. I fly for no band. I did a 5 hour trip where I built the weekend in Saratoga as a vacation around the concert and two shots up to Albany and back right after the show. I guess Hartford in 2002 would be in this range too. Living in the Northeast does have its advantages although there are now some venues I avoid on principle. Thanks Jive Nation.
  19. I don't think it has changed much since the Time Machine tour. There may be a Rush website somewhere that keeps track of it.

  21. Thanks! I can appreciate this much more now beyond its historical significance. Any idea where this version came from?
  22. That does look sweet. Almost has the look of legitimacy too. To me, it looks like the Atlantic and Anthem logos are off slightly. But that is a nice piece and I can understand why you took the plunge. I have those Japanese 45s too. Very nice. I love Japanese pressings, but I don't have many of them. I used to go to record shows myself. Unfortunately they don't have them much anymore. I got my Signals Radio show at one too. it seems to be the most common of the Anthem Radio Specials, but they are still quite rare. The Japanese Fly By Night picture disc has been around for awhile, if it is real it was a small press run. And that is one cool record player!
  23. WOW! I just watched my watermarked DVD last night and it doesn't hold a candle to this. Is the whole show around or just these tracks?
  24. It's a european import. Similar tracklisting to "The Spirit Of Radio" compilation in 2003 I think. It's the only one that has been mentioned in this thread that I don't have. I get the comps mainly for the art work and usually heavily discounted in the used bins years later except for the vinyl comps. They can sometimes be pretty pricy. Of course those two Icon comps don't have much to offer artwise, but at a few bucks each I couldn't resist them. Those 1997 Mercury remasters are still hanging around here too. They are the closest to being jettisoned, but I haven't made that move yet.
  25. That's why we're here... (Why are we here? Because we're here... Roll the Bones....) I'd love to see other's posted as well..I always thought this was a cool thing until it got overwhelming...which is what I'm worried about with sending stuff to get signed when on tour...AS more people learn they can do it, it can potentially get out of hand.. I only found out he did this after he wrote the letter saying he wasn't doing it anymore because one person on the Internet said he was doing this and ruined it for everyone else.
