Just talken' with Earthshine - First Hand Grace
BastillePark replied to Second Hand Grace's topic in Rush
It's interesting that one person, and only one person gets it (whatever "it" is) and the rest of us are "animated corpses", aka zombies. -

Joe's Garage, acts 2 and 3 - Frank Zappa

He was cremated. I would have thought someone so close to him and the band would have known that.

Not really. It's pretty common for people taking medications for certain mental health issues, to stop taking the medications that are helping them maintain some semblance of a normal life because they feel better. They can't seem to comprehend that it's the meds that are what's helping them to feel better and they drift back to their state of delusion and the cycle repeats.

What Made You Do A Facepalm Today??
BastillePark replied to Principled Man's topic in Random Samples
Two news stories this week left me shaking my head. The first one was a guy had surgery on his head and part of his skull was removed. When they went to put it back on they couldn't find it (the hospital said it couldn't be "identified") so they made a prosthetic piece, and then charged him $19,000 for it. The second story was a woman was charged about $15,000 when she broke her lease but she only did so, because she died. Thankfully the apartment complex owners decided to be better people (probably only because of the negative publicity) and decided the family didn't owe that. -
Somebody's off their meds.

Did Ged ever have the "Window to the World" opened to him?
BastillePark replied to Second Hand Grace's topic in Rush
Ahh, one of those people. The type that is able to discern meaning deeper than us mere mortals can comprehend. In some circles you're are known as delusional, in others, just schizophrenic. Then when asked specific questions you resort to name calling or explaining that those of us unenlightened, either won't or can't understand. Your perceived moral and intellectual superiority is loathsome. -
They're getting sued because of that death too. But even if they are 100% blame free, they'd get sued by people looking for a settlement helped by the ambulance chasers.

The one closest to him is Joni Mitchell, if you're talking about to the left as viewed. -
That top one is exactly what I bought as my first handgun purchase.

Is looking for a handgun or one of those murderous assault rifles? Or maybe just a hunting rifle?

We've got the typical style of kitchen knives that all fit neatly in a wooden holder (Calaphon) but recently I've been interested in getting something better quality than what we have now and I was curious to know what others may have and what you think about them? I'm familiar with WÜSTHOF and J.A. Henckels and those style of knives but I've also read a lot about Japanese style knives that are sharpened differently (a 70/30 edge instead of the usual 50/50 that western style knives use) and generally stay that way longer. There are also different types of steel available. What say ye?

When you get to 50 posts, you should request permission to view and post in the Sense O'Clock News area. You'll fit right in and I'm sure you'd love it.

Someone asked Jimmy Carr the best heckle he'd heard and he said it was at a tennis match when a British player wasn't playing well. As he sat down between sets, someone yelled, "Hey Tim, you've got shit on your racket" at which point the player looked at the head end of the racket and the heckler said, "It's on the other end."

I don't think you can get the nuance of weighing in "stones" that you can with grams.

Package mailed to an address in Indianapolis on the eighth (Th) that was initially expected to arrive on Tues the 13th finally arrived today. For some reason it got routed via Akron, OH. Just a bit further east (300 miles). Generally have had good service from the USPS but every now and then they go off the rails, but good.

Haitian Divorce - Steely Dan (my favorite song by them)
