  1. Looks like it's all over the place .... perhaps in hindsight unlimited voting was a mistake .... maybe restricting it to 6 of each would have been better .... anyway what's done is done!!
  2. it's only good if it's on classic rock radio around here But those are the only songs that we as the general public are given permission to like. You mean there's more out there than what has been preapproved for us to listen to? You must bathe in the deep pool of the unknown .... the water is lovely!

  4. Terminal Velocity is a good tune. Parts of it have a Steve Morse vibe to it (Portnoy and Dave LaRue might have a little something to do with that). DT and Haken are big fans of each other, and both Haken guitarists use 8-strings, so I wonder if John was inspired by them to start incorporating that instrument into his own work. "string envy" it seems like steve vai popularized the 7 string guitar and JP has played 7 strings before. ever see anyone play a warr guitar? i saw behold the arctopus once. part amazing, part a little too much for my taste. very intense Trey Gunn in King Crimson nice i watched a few videos of him after you mentioned him. they were great! I listened to a few tracks by the band you mentioned - Behold The Arctopus (I hadn't heard of them) ...... amazingly dexterous musicianship but a bit full on! Ok in short doses methinks!
  5. nice boob shot Isn't that the only reason for Hooters to exist? The food is shite, utterly. What food?
  6. The maestros of merchandise ... ..... to the bitter end!!
  7. I had forgotten that 2016 was also the year of my trip to Ireland! What a great year it was. The USA road trip blog... http://toddontheroad...x-results=7&m=1 Great blogs! Hope you enjoyed Ireland!!

  9. Mike Mangini is a damn fine replacement ..... a technically superb drummer. Very suited to DT. mangini is great and i believe i saw him once with vai. i think portnoy and petrucci have better synergy. i though DT was trending down before MP left and after that, i said effff it. james labrie is the reason i cant handle DT anymore. Yes, i struggle with him also.... unless he is on top of his a-game (which is pretty rare these days) i think he weakens DT
  10. Sorry to hear that. Thanks! She needed open heart surgery which was not great for someone her age. She recovered to a degree but her health has beenproblematical since then. But she is still with us and, if we can keep Covid-19 at bay, we hopefully have her with us for a few more years yet.

  12. Nice!!!!! ..... Haven't listened to The Sword for a while (don't think i got their last album). I see a rarities compilation is coming out (or may already be out) called Conquest of Kingdoms which has a few covers on it .... not sure if this is on it though.
  13. How can you tell? She has a t-shirt on. All the wrinkles ...... half deflated... Like an underwater ball squeezer woman? I guess that's Earl's favourite sort

  15. It's been mandatory for us to wear masks in situations where social distancing isn't possible since everything went on lockdown back in March. If you're out grocery shopping or just going in to the corner store, I would say about 95 percent of people have them on. Very few people are without masks right now when going out somewhere. You can't even use public transportation if your face isn't covered with some kind of mask. They provide the drivers with extra masks to give to people but if they don't have any left then they can't let the person on. It has been mandatory here on public transport for some time, but not in shops. TBH I don't feel comfortable going into a shop or supermarket without a mask on , but so far most people here just don't bother. Hopefully from Monday they will get the message and cover up!!
  16. Here in N. Ireland, wearing facemasks in shops becomes mandatory on Monday........ about bloody time I say!
  17. I don't think prog is really unpopular, it's just generally second fiddle to classic rock. There are some around here who don't like it at all, but I think most people at least like Yes and Pink Floyd quite a bit. Pink Floyd is NOT prog! lol go home, you're drunk :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:  I was talking to the guy who said Pink Floyd wasn't prog I was just having fun with EP (I do enjoy beer tho .. cheers!) but truthfully they have never struck me as prog they seem a bit too mellow-ish on the well known tunes (that's about all I know) at least as far as someone with a cursory understanding of what prog means, they seem to be on the fringes of it Hehe ... we were only messin' !!! I think to be honest the term Prog nowadays is all encompassing, and covers a lot of different styles from the total chill-out mellow like some of Floyd, Camel or Renaissance to complete heavyness like Haken, Dream Theater or Anekdoten. Anyway, lets drink on it! Cheers!!
