QUOTE (workingcinderellaman @ Sep 22 2010, 12:41 PM) QUOTE (Cygnalschick @ Sep 22 2010, 01:19 PM) I've been in Chile for the past 4 months teaching English, and as luck would have it, Rush are making their first appearance here in October. Fortunately I have found a way to go.... and I AM EXCITED, to say the least Anyone else ever seen Rush in South America??? Where are you? I am in Caldera, Atacama region. Are you in Chile too?

  10. I must say, after Blood Mountain, I expected this album to be a lot better. I've only listened to it a few times, but only a few of the songs have really grabbed me. On Blood Mountain, I thought almost every song was awesome. But hey, I'm not complaining... I guess I just had my expectations too high
  11. That's a great story Rolinda Best of luck with everything sista Also...I was visiting a friend today who is volunteering for a film festival coming to town in a few weeks. Anyway, while looking at the list of movies, I came across one called "Over the Hills and Far Away." It's a documentary about a family who has a son with autism. They travel on horseback across Mongolia in search of answers. They visit several healers and shamans, and the film documents their experience. It sounded very interesting, and I immediately thought to post it here.
  12. There is an awesome metal band from here in Austin, TX called Shrapnel. Check them out here! --> Trust me, they rock http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...riendID=5966890
  13. I'm actually halfway through the series, and am thoroughly enjoying it. Some scenes are very intense and you feel like you're right there in the battle. Yes, watching this gives me a whole new appreciation for World War II veterans. That's some serious courage, and I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for them. This is probably one of the most accurate portrayals of what it's like to be in the midst of battle. A great show indeed
  14. I loved this show! Although I just heard about it recently and borrowed the entire season from a friend. Very funny show, and too bad they won't be making any more seasons
  15. A friend, who is a big fan, gave me a copy of Dogman. I've only listened to it once, but I liked what I heard Good guitar work
  16. QUOTE (PhilCastro @ Nov 5 2008, 09:49 PM) Phil almost has the complete collection now! My lastest Purchase: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/65/Dream_Theater_-_Awake.jpg This was my first DT purchase (back in 96/97??) and I still love it! When it comes to DT, it's hard for me to pick and choose my favorites. However, a few songs do come to mind.... those would be "Learning to Live", "Blind Faith", and although it's old, I've always loved "Caught in a Web"

  18. QUOTE (Drumnut @ Nov 29 2008, 12:58 AM) QUOTE (Cygnalschick @ Nov 29 2008, 01:39 AM)I actually watched a movie today called "First Do No Harm". Has anyone seen this? It's about a mother (played by Meryl Streep) and her son who has epilepsy. After trying all kinds of medications on him, and none of them working, she finds out about the ketogenic diet (I think that's what it was called). This is a special diet that if followed very strictly, can stop seizures for good. It worked for the boy in the movie. The movie is based on real events, and this diet is said to have worked successfully on several people with epilepsy, to the point where they no longer take medication and haven't had any more seizures. I think it's worth checking out That's the right name of the diet, The Ketogenic Diet. I know about it, but I've never tried it. Thanks for the heads-up on "First Do No Harm" Amazon has it for $6.99. I wish I had known it was on, I would have checked it out. Sure It was just ironic that I happened to watch it yesterday on a whim (hanging out with my grandma ), and then saw this thread late last night. Anyway, it's very interesting! Perhaps you'll find it helpful drumnut
