  1. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Aug 26 2010, 10:50 PM)QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Aug 26 2010, 08:05 AM) Here I am at my brother's wedding last Saturday night....Don't mind the sweat-soaked shirt; I was dancing my ass off all night http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae180/captaincomeback4009/40774_460927940217_633185217_6827176_4841551_n.jpg Dude, look at you! You're lookin' great - excellent job, sir. Holy shit !!! You can say that again, yeah!
  2. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Aug 27 2010, 01:45 AM) QUOTE (fledgehog @ Aug 26 2010, 10:35 AM) My only fear is that the movie WILL express an opinion on facebook, whether it tries to or not, and even though it seems like they are trying to present the film as purely historical/factual, there will be bias on part of the writers and director. My guess is that it will be negative, based on some of the clips in the promos and whatnot ("your best friend is suing you", etc...) I agree; I hope it would be more objective than not but I don't see that happening. It's a movie movie not a documentary.
  3. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Aug 25 2010, 05:45 AM)...please make the first thing you do upon your release from rehab to kill yourself and rid the watching world of your ongoing trainwreck. We simply don't care. Hugs, PD Wouldn't your post mean that you DO care?
  4. Good for you Chicago ! And nice one by our boyz
  5. QUOTE (thesweetscience @ Aug 20 2010, 09:46 AM) QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Aug 19 2010, 08:29 PM) Sorry. Won't go. NO ONE copies a John Wayne film. NO ONE. Exactly!! Did you guys read the article? It's not exactly a copy of the Wayne film. It's more like another film version of the book. I look at it this way, it's not like Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins was a remake of Burton's Batman. I see the Coen bros upcoming True Grit from that angle
  6. I never saw the original since I don't like John Wayne. But the Coen bros + Jeff Bridges + Josh Brolin = I'll check it out. http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk...ole-redone.html
  7. QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Aug 11 2010, 10:50 AM) it won't matter if this movie sucks or not, I think it's going to be huge at the box office. Interesting. I look at it in the opposite way: It doesn't matter if it's huge at the box office, it only matters if I think the movie sucks or not. Bottom line: I'll watch it when it comes out here
  8. Oh, tick's a genius. Without even knowing it, he made yakisoba : http://www.nande.com/oisinbo/image/yakisoba.jpg tick brand yakisoba. 10. Hate to say it but: I don't know about De Niro anymore. He seems more like a caricature of himself than the greatness that he used to be (and I could say the same about Nicholson). Dream casts are tricky. It seems better to have the right combination of actors (see: Magnolia) than an entire cast of superstars. Morgan Freeman & Denzel Washington always seem to mix well with whoever they're with. And I'd put Clint & Gary Oldman in there too because they always seem to give the films an air of respectability

While browsing the meet/greet photos, I came across this. http://01ed31a.netsolhost.com/timemachine/shows/show5/DSC0031.jpg Damn she's smokin'...WTF is she doing at a Rush concert? Maybe she thought she won meet and greet for Blink-182 or some crap, and showed up and said :Who the heall are these guys?!?" She probably works for that radio station that appears on her shirt. Alex's grin from ear to ear is priceless. Yep, the Loop gets a new "loop girl" each year. I'd be surprised if she knew any of Rush's music, she's just there for PR ...laughing at all you guys ripping on the hot blonde that nobody knows. "Blink 182....bimbo...who are these guys...etc." You guys act like it's a crime to be attractive
  12. QUOTE (daveyt @ Aug 9 2010, 07:41 AM)yeah that happened to me once and it was with part of my entourange and i literally had to leave the guy because he was just yelling the lyrics at the top of his lungs. i was like bye! Why didn't you just ram a taco with extra hot sauce down his throat?! That would've shut his piehole!

  14. QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Aug 9 2010, 04:51 PM) QUOTE (thelocator @ Aug 8 2010, 11:00 PM) QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ May 4 2010, 09:09 PM) Wasn't drugs that killed him but pneumonia... http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Movies/05/...dex.html?hpt=T3 But, who the heck dies of pneumonia except for infants and the elderly?...This has got to be a case where the cat had completely destroyed his body's ability to defend itself from the stuff that healthy folks can normally ward off...I know that pneumonia is the official cause given here, but in my eyes this has still got to be a drug-related fatality. Pneumonia kills people at any age. Almost killed my brother when he was 10. The coroner himself has said drugs were not "significant contributing factors." I guess his past is too great for folks to reshape their image of him no matter how much the doctors say it wasn't drug related. I did a search for "Famous people who died of pneumonia" and there was a list of hundreds...many of whom were neither geezers nor little babies

  17. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Aug 9 2010, 10:28 AM) SW experts... pls help me, so they say at the end of III, "wipe the memory of the protocol droid" - or something of that like, regarding c3po. now, really, was that on purpose to imply that r2d2's memory would NOT be wiped? can that be, could r2d2 have known so much going into IV-V-VI? also, where did the levitating jets go? cmon! When in doubt, blame Lucas. It's a safe bet.
  18. Why is The Voyage Home so appreciated? It seemed like a long version of one of the crappier original episodes. And when it comes down to it, they were only saving humpback whales to save their own asses. The good/great Trek films: Khan, Undiscovered Country, First Contact, the reboot. The others are all somewhere between tolerable-horrible
  19. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Aug 6 2010, 10:00 PM) QUOTE (briremo @ Aug 5 2010, 08:13 PM) Three words can sum up my feelings on Lucas Jar Jar Binks I happen to think Lucas is one of the worst most-famous directors of all time. The first SW was good and they all got progressively from there on out. Sorry Empire got progressively worse? You realize he didn't do that one, right? That's exactly why it was the best one!
  20. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Aug 4 2010, 05:11 AM) QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Aug 3 2010, 10:02 AM) I have a thought that it will happen after George dies. I'd love to see JJ Abrams take over 7-9. Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad.
  21. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 4 2010, 10:08 PM) QUOTE (Soni @ Aug 1 2010, 08:47 AM) Episode 1 was nice Episode 2 sucks big time Episode 3 is easily the best of these three I thinks it holds up pretty well See I thought Episode 1 was by far the worst for these reasons: 1. Jake Lloyd who played young Anakin - unforgivably bad acting 2. The women who played Anakin's mother - more unforgivably bad acting 3. Jar-Jar Binks 4. Overly-complex hard to follow who cares plot regarding the Trade Federation, etc. 5. Often very wooden and/or goofy dialogue (did he ACTUALLY say "Are you brain dead?" Yes, he did.) 6. The pod racing scent - great special effects, but goes on forever and is just a little too goofy. I thought Episode 2 and 3 were vast improvements, even though there was still some horrendous dialogue. And also the performances that all seemed so stiff and overly serious - that wasn't really the actors' faults but the writing and directing. There was just very little down to earth relatability to the characters and their dialogues. Luke, Han and Leia had that in spades - where did it go? You know how I like to disagree with you goobs but I can't this time
