  1. Never knew they had a video for The Body Electric. Cool. And it´s one of their best too, imo. I'll have to check it out. MTV used to often show that video when Grace Under Pressure was new It's funny as a kid I watched MTV all the time, and I have no memory of seeing a Rush video at all. But damned if I didnt see Kajagoogoo about once an hour! Damn that song. Distant Early Warning & The Enemy Within got a lot of MTV airplay. All of their 80s videos did Guess I was watching at all the wrong times. Or maybe my ten year old brain just wasn't ready for Rush yet. :-)
  2. I was disappointed they didn't include the lyric videos for The Wreckers and Headlong Flight on the CA tour DVD. So I guess we can count those as having never been released as well.

  4. And then....soooo tiiiiiiiight! I hate this song even more than I realised. The 'so tight' bit is actually in Double Agent, and not Stick it Out. I was trying to piece the song together in my mind and it wasn't working! Now I know why! I won't replay Stick It Out though. Arg that song makes me so angry that I want to shoot cute things. *myself hehehe* I like Stick it Out. I like most of that album. I do not care for Nobody's Hero and The Speed of Love. But the rest I like. Its better than RtB.
  5. Actually they got better: Driven and Half the World are good videos. And Far Cry is cool too. But their 80s stuff was ... well, very 80s! The Distant Early Warning video always bugs me. How do you plaster the phrase "red alert" across the screen in green font?? Perhaps they are color blind. Maybe so.

  7. This woman is a dead ringer for Geddy Lee: http://youtu.be/4pfgpcjOduo There's a thread devoted to this video, which I believe was started by GeddysMullet, but I'm too lazy to look for it and post a link. This video is creating all sorts of confusing feelings for me...

  9. As you can see from my earlier post, no they are not. I wish they were though. One single collection with "Countdown" and maybe some live stuff would be cool. Agreed. Hear that Ray Daniels??? Put all the videos in one collection and fire up your check cashing machine! This is way too funny. I was just thinking about this very same thing on the way home from work today. I'd love to have a chronological video compilation (which will never happen because you're dealing with two record companies.) Even the Retrospective DVD is out of chronological order. I was thinking it would be really cool to do a video marathon. I suppose I could take matters into my own hands and just burn them all to a DVD but that would take more time than I'd want to devote to this project since the videos are scattershot out of order over at least 4 DVDs. Then the question becomes would you include the live videos that are just direct transfers from the concert DVDs. I don't think I would. The only ones that never made it to DVD are Countdown (Through The Camera Eye VHS), the album version of The Big Money (from the Grace Under Pressure VHS and Closer To The Heart Live 1997 (compilation live video never released commercially.) Some nights when we want to sit around and drink and have no plans my wife and I have actually sat down with all the various DVDs of their videos and attempted a chronological viewing of their videos. It's rather labor intensive concerning their 70s stuff since its spread out over so many collections. When you get to the 80s it gets much simpler. One question that did arise in our little geeky viewing party: Why no videos for the songs from PW?? Seems to be a real hole in their videography.

  11. Many older era, 70s vids can be found on the R30 dvd bonus disc. Chronicles dvd hits a couple of 70s hits, but is mostly 80s songs. The 90s vids are a bonus disc in the Retrospective III compilation. Then there is "Anthem" which is an easter egg on Rush in Rio. And some John Rutsey era videos are on the Beyond the Lighted Stage dvd. "Vital Signs" is found on the bonus disc of the MP remastered edition. I think all their vids have been issued on dvd with the exception of "Countdown".

Both made the list Copeland much higher than Collins I believe. Good. Glad he was there.

I know Phil Collins was- #43. I think he deserves better than that. I'm not sure about Stewart Copeland. I don't remember seeing him on the list, but now that I think of it, I can't imagine he isn't. If he's not, then that's ridiculous. Yes Copeland needs to be on that list. Phil at #43 ... Eh I can see it coming from RS. But yea I would've put him in the Top 25 at least.
  14. Actually I think that would be a cool nerdy name for a Ged and Al side project. What if they saw that and thought, Hmmm, you know that isn't too bad....

Was Stewart Copeland on the list? Phil Collins? I haven't looked at it. Based on these comments I guess I shouldn't care but I am curious about those guys.
  16. We're all individuals! I'm not!
  17. At this point I would bet that it says “ENERGIZED ROCK”. I know that I’ve seen a clear version of this picture before but I just couldn’t remember what it said. “ENERGIZED ROCK” rang a huge bell for me. Yea that makes more sense than a date. But it sure looked like one at first. Now I just see Energized Rock. Funny how the brain works.
  18. Yes I think you are right and that does look like a date, as the OP mentioned too. But it looks more like 73 instead of 70.
  19. My guess has always been that it was the first "official" shirts they had made up to sell to fans, possibly when Rutsey was still in the band. But like I said, that is just a guess
  20. I mean, of course its about the money. Everything is, when you have a career that you want to sustain over a number of years. But like you said, I think the artistic motivation was MP and the two new songs.
  21. I always have mixed feelings about seeing classics such as this remade. Just watched the '59 film this past weekend. Just a great film. I agree it will be hard to match.
  22. COS wasn't as produced or recorded as well as FBN was.For one thing Geddy's vocals in FBN were doubletracked in a lot of songs which lent them a nice thickness. Not so much in COS which sounds plain in comparison or sort of half-baked. I agree - I always felt CoS would've fared much better if they had spent a little more time on the production. It sounds underproduced. Also think that, as cool as the album title is, they should've just called it Fountain of Lamneth and moved FoL to side one.
