  1. AVFTTOTW has to be the best sounding DT studio album ever. Every instrument crystal clear and balanced in the mix. Mangini's drums finally have punch and I love the panning they do with his fills. Andy Sneap strikes gold again. My top two tracks are Sleeping Giant and Answering The Call. But it's solid throughout with no skippers. Amazing release from a band who's 15 albums into a career.
  2. Feel Your Love Tonight would be in my top 3 from the album. Sure it's not as much of a slammer as other tracks, but it's so damn catchy and it has one of my favorite EVH solos. I'm The One is not only the best track on the debut, it's among VH's best period. So it BETTER not go! ;) As cool as it is, I'd say lose Eruption. I'm done with ATBL too. Great tune, but I've just heard it too much.
  3. Very happy they're going forward with this since I bought tix for the Cedar Park show the minute they went on sale (and have been patiently waiting the last year and a half). I was afraid they'd bump it to 2022 like a lot of bands are still doing. Most of those dates are rescheduled and only a handful are new shows. I'd still have rather they finished the new album first, but looking forward to a live show and hope they deliver the goods with a kickass and deep setlist.
  4. Yeah, by calling it KK's PRIEST, he's made it impossible for listeners to not compare it directly with his former band (because he IS trying to market it as a second Judas Priest). And because his former band still has the vocalist that (IMO) pushed them into the stratosphere of legends, it's a comparison he's very likely to lose. If he'd called it something like KK's Steel Mill, it would be easier to listen to as HIS band and not a copycat attempt. That said, I do like the initial single more than I thought I would and will be open to hearing the rest of it. Some of the song titles though sound embarrassing.
  5. KK's new tune is solid musically, although it does have a recycled feel. It kinda reminded me of "Invader" from Stained Class, but on steroids. The drumming is excellent, even if it's not Binks. KK's solo is decent. His playing doesn't sound any worse than when he was in Priest, so that's good. Doesn't sound any better either though. Pretty much the same old same old. Still reliant on whammy bar and on the sloppy side. I thought the other guitarist's solo was actually better. The song SOUNDS great. Solid production, very much like you expect a Priest album to sound. And I loved the over-the-top effects in the video. Still maybe not enough fire. What brings the song down though are Owen's vocals. Still don't care for the way he sings. He can rival Rob when it comes to screams, but as for actual singing, it's like he's always trying to sound tough and it's just irritating. His voice just doesn't have near as much character as Halford's. This song definitely feels like a direct reply to Firepower and while musically it's there, the singing makes it sound like the third Ripper Priest album. Which is exactly what I expected.
  6. I might not call it their worst ever, but I've never understood what people see in "Us And Them". Total snoozer of a song IMO and their most overrated.
  7. I watched this last night. Pete always has good stuff on his channel. Nothing new revealed, but a good interview. I was surprised he went there with the KK question, but Rob very diplomatically sidestepped it. Sounded almost like a 100% confirmation on Andy touring again, but not quite. And he STILL thinks they'll be doing shows with Ozzy. I guess he hasn't actually seen Ozzy lately.
  8. I never cared for Axl in GNR, but I gotta admit that I thought he sounded decent on the live AC/DC gigs I heard. Especially stuff from the Bon era, from which they even resurrected some vintage tunes that I've never heard Brian sing. Voted Blaze. I'm not familiar enough with some of those singers to have an opinion of them, but none could be worse than Blaze. He made Maiden completely irrelevant during his years. No idea what Harris was thinking.
  9. I just started Rob's book today and so far am really enjoying it. It's written in a relaxed, easy-to-read style that feels like he's just sitting there talking to you. I immediately jumped to the end to see if he mentioned the feuding with KK or the 'other Priest', but he doesn't. I get the impression Rob really prefers to stay above mudslinging. His memory isn't perfect as he cites Jawbreaker as being off SFV, but it sounds like he drank so much during those years we should be thankful he remembers anything. Obviously a huge part of the book is his turmoil and sadness about being in the closet. Look to be some good stories about meeting and partying with other rockers and celebrities. Looking forward to reading the rest in detail.
  10. The Sixth Sense. Effectively creepy in parts, but mostly dull and the final "reveal" is completely ridiculous when you think about it.
  11. Picked this up on blu-ray and absolutely loved it! A must-have for pre Dark Side Floyd fans. Really well filmed and sensational sound. Editing is still too busy for my taste, but not the worst in that department. So cool to have modern sounding live versions of tracks like Interstellar Overdrive, Let There Be More Light, Childhood's End and Atom Heart Mother. And Vegetable Man??? Are you freaking kidding me? Nick seriously dug deep. I only wish he would've done this many years ago, so they could've toured long enough for me to see it before bastard covid came along. They don't try to recreate everything note for note, which is smart. They just try to capture the original spirit of the material within their own interpretation and at that, they definitely succeed. The only thing I didn't love was some of the vocal deliveries, especially the guy from Spandau Ballet. That part, I wish, they would've stuck to a little more faithfully. Musically though, all very tight. You can tell they're all having a ton of fun with it. Seriously, I'm overjoyed with this release at a time when we sadly can't attend real shows. Again, highly recommended.
  12. Congrats to Richie and what a cool father-in-law to have! That would be a fun house to grow up in if you like guitar playing. And as brilliant a player as Richie is, it still amazes me that prior to Priest, all he'd done was play for Lauren freaking Harris.
  13. I'll just pick 10 for now. Obviously so many more great ones in the catalog. Favorite overall album is Killing Machine/Hell Bent For Leather. Rapid Fire - maybe the ultimate metal song by any band ever Dissident Aggressor Delivering The Goods Green Manalishi Steeler Savage Electric Eye Heading Out To The Highway Freewheel Burning Jawbreaker
  14. Priest better be working too and not let KK beat them to the punch.
  15. How in the world is Planet Caravan in this poll over Fairies Wear Boots (one of their most iconic and known songs)? From the list, War Pigs just ahead of the mighty Into The Void.
  16. I Feel Fine is another favorite of mine that was fairly popular.
  17. No other votes for BIB? I think it slays everything else on the list except TNT.
  18. I think his top 4 and most rewatchable are Pulp, JB, KB 1 and Basterds. I thought Hollywood was ok, but ultimately a let down. It LOOKS great, has an excellent cast and fascinating period/subject matter. But a lot of time is wasted on......nothing.
  19. Just received an email from Ticketmaster that Priest's fall 2020 U.S. dates have been delayed a year. Bummer, but not surprising. Hopefully they're able to do some recording during this down time.
  20. Really enjoy the documentary by Peter Bogdanovich. All 3+ hours of it!
  21. No offense to Final Cut fans. It's just not my cup of tea. 15. Final Cut 14. Endless River 13. Momentary Lapse 12. Ummagumma 11. More 10. Piper 9. Saucerful 8. Atom Heart Mother 7. Division Bell 6. The Wall 5. Obscured By Clouds 4. Meddle 3. Dark Side 2. Wish You Were Here 1. Animals
  22. Gene Simmons in 2010 during his blood drooling bass solo. Always liked this one because you can actually read what he wrote on the bass and presumably gave to someone named Acuna after the show.
