  1. From the article: I’d seen the newspaper ad for their latest album, “A Farewell to Kings.” I was intrigued by how dangerous the band members looked on the album cover I lost interest in reading after that
  2. crisis actors
  3. Virgin Killer - Scorpions
  4. My wife of 18 years is leaving me because she thinks I am one. PURE BULLSHIT. However taking her to over 25 Rush shows was also a deal breaker. Ironically she never told me NO I DON'T WANT TO GO. So thanks Rush! I lost my wife because of my narcissistic addiction to Rush and rock and roll. Of course it's not any band's fault. It's mine. It will be my cross to bear until the day I die. I'm fine. I have no regrets. Damn Earl, I am sorry to hear I've been thru it with fiancés and girlfriends, and at the time, it seems devastating But I swear, in all truth, I can sit here and say that I am thankful and happy that I am with none of them - stop beating yourself up Each time a person dies inside, they can return closer to the person they were originally supposed to be . .
  5. That Superconductor video is pretty scary
  6. I think those two are the only good ones. I loved the original and I really liked Beneath. Naturally, the Burton one was by far the worst and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath. And the modern Ape flicks this century are okay but they don't have the same special suspense/drama like the original and Beneath. I completely forgot about the Tim Burton film ( understandably )
  7. Just watched the blu ray of the original ( 1968 ) Planet Of The Apes The transfer was striking - it looked amazing, esp the scenes in the beginning, and the soundtrack was brilliant .... Looking forward to Beneath The Planet Of The Apes, as I haven't seen it in probably 30 years, and recall liking it just as much, if not more than the original .. Can't beat the ending of the original though
  8. My best friend and I have a very long running ( and humorous ) debate as to who is the better bass player - Geddy or Chris Squire .. The debate goes back to our high school days ( 80s ), and I would regularly point to Circumstances because not only does the song have some great bass playing, but the fact that Geddy sings over the top of some of the best bass lines makes it even better .. My friend always said "Ahhh, they never played Circumstances live, so it doesn't matter" .. I knew they had played it live, but never had the proof ( this started pre internet, mind you ) Anyways, when RUSH released that clip of Circumstances - which was an actual performance - I had my friend over to watch a movie ... Before the movie began, I surprised him with Circumstances :)

  14. That's funny because I don't take that quote that way at all. I think most writers hope that their words will have an effect on others in some positive way. It's a bit idealistic but thats youth. I hesitate to even post stuff like that because Neil, Alex and Geddy have always, and will always mean so much to me .. Neil is a bit over dramatic when it comes to certain things, but then again, most interesting people - actually, ALL interesting people - have things to say, and a lot of it will cause eyes to roll ... But we love them regardless because that's what makes them click
  15. No contest: Tears Not only is Tears ignored, scoffed at, brushed over and disliked, it also happens to be one of my favorite Rush songs - Top 15
  16. A quote, not from a song, but just something Neil said ... This has got to be one of the most delusional, self-important quotes I can remember ( ... you take the good with the bad and what we've got is our old Uncle Neil ) There's still a lot I'm angry about, a lot of human behaviour that's appalling and despicable, but you choose what you can fight against. I always thought if I could just put something in words perfectly enough, people would get the idea and it would change things. ... yes, Neil, if you could just enlighten us all, you, and you alone, would make the world a better place . .
  17. C'mon Freddy, let's hear about the Gene Simmons experience -
