  1. Just added Midnight Oil in Toronto, on Aug. 25. Another train trip from Windsor to YYZ... looking forward to another adventure to the east, eh... Rock ON!! Love Midnight Oil. Saw them do the show on the back of the flatbed in front of the Exxon building 30 yrs ago.
  2. The same friend who went to see Maiden went to the U2 show too. I'm more into intimate club/theater gigs these days. My last big show is probably going to be Roger Waters in a few months. I generally prefer smaller venues as well, but there's something to be said for a top band at a stadium sometimes.
  3. Going to U2 tomorrow night, 30 yrs later to see The Joshua Tree again!
  4. OK, I'm just beyond excited that all of you (well, maybe it's only 10 of you, but still) love this as much as I do, I thought I was the only Styx nerd here.... I agree with mostly everyone. Trouble with the Big Show is a typical JY song and probably my least favorite. I love Locomotive, Red Storm, Radio Silence and Gowan's piano on Khedive is brill.
  5. Carl (and his band) are awesome. Seen them about a dozen times Enjoy! Best set in years too. It was great. He's quite something, so it made me miss Neil LOL . But they did Fanfare and he did what must've been a 15 minute solo in the middle and it was just out of this world . Then Ken Dashow (one of the last cool rock DJs in nyc) interviewed the members of the band afterwards which was very cool . That's Carl. He's a never miss for me now (His band not Asia although I love Asia.) Saw some clips on you tube. It was awesome seeing Lisa Wetton play. That must have been very emotional to be there. She seemed like she was having a blast. Yes, it was really nice to see her play. The crowd was super supportive. I have some friends who are friends with a lot of Marillion fans that were there, and they know Lisa. it was cool. As for Carl, I wish I'd seen ELP, but at least I've seen him now!

  7. Gets old answering this one. He's only been in the band 16 years now. Time to get the f**k over it. Yes. He's a brilliant musician in his own right.
  8. My fave kings x song is Pleiades.
  9. I've only listened through once, but I really like it already. it reminds me of grand illusion and equinox .
  10. Updated list: June 21st - Fates Warning July 14th - Ricky Gervais August 12th - Greg Howe August 18th - The Jelly Jam August 24th - Haken September 02nd - Deep Purple + Alice Cooper September 22nd - Megadeth and Scorpions. I passed on Annihilator and Muse. I saw jelly jam last summer and then Kings X as well .
  11. Tribute to John Wetten with Asia including Carl Palmer on Saturday night. So excited to see Carl Palmer play .
  12. That's awesome. My friends went Wednesday too. They said it was a good show...a lot from the new album. yes, it's a lot of songs from The Book of Souls. Which is fine with me, I like it!
  13. I actually won tix through Live Nation to see Maiden again last night in Newark, never saw them before Sunday and now I've seen them twice for free! It was fun. Next up is the John Wetton Asia concert in NJ.
  14. happy birthday coffee and fruit man!
  15. A few friends are going to the Newark show. I passed even though I've still not seen them. My friend is giving me the ticket in exchange for picking him up and driving us in and out so it works out for me .
  16. Iron Maiden tomorrow night!! First time seeing them.
  17. Eagles are one of my top 15 bands.
  18. I was there (I know, I keep saying this on every post, but it was really so exciting) and yeah, it was great to see him, he was so cute and funny and interesting and quirky!!
  19. While I do like Supertramp, it's always ELO for me, they're one of my top 10 groups. Out of the Blue is one of my top ten albums (of all my bands, I mean, not just their stuff). Yes, they got a little too pop-ish as the years went on, but they had awesome stuff their first half. A New World Record? Brilliant! Shangri-La - lovely!!
  20. I don't know, in theory it sounds fun, but I hate making a commitment to something so far in advance! Plus I haven't really heard about if anyone is actually going, either. I mean, not that i know any of the Rush fans online to begin with, but I recognize a lot of the screen names, of course.
  21. Anyone heard about this Overtime Angels camp in New Jersey over Labor Day weekend, and if so, anyone going? https://overtimeangels.org
  22. How was it? It was so good. I've never seen them before though I've liked him since high school. I went with a meet up group and we had seats way Up high at the stadium. The guy running the group went to customer service and complained about all of the pot smoke around us and apparently he was very polite because he got four tickets in a better section. I got one of them and we removed all the way down to Field level on the side of the stage. So I was about 15 rows from the stage . It was unbelievable. A lot of other people joined us. That section has not sold out, I think the seats had just been released the day before, so people with obstructed view seats got moved there as well . And yes of course there was pot smoke everywhere and say what you will but he was very nice about it and it worked LOL. Great show . They did this really cool drum thing, playing these huge drums I don't know what they're called but it was really neat.
  23. Love love love. The man with the child in his eyes and cloudbusting in particular .
