Love this vid anytime ;).

Although it was not Rush at the time (could easily have been though), music played a similar role in my teen years. I was your typical no-fit outcast with not many friends. Music was something I got into fast and hard from around age 14 on. I was seen around my school almost constantly hooked into a set of cheap headphones and my Discman. It helped me feel connected to some sort of beauty bigger than myself, something that seemed very transcendent. It still does that today, and is why I believe when a band hits a resonating note with me, I latch on swiftly and never let go :).

Can I submit a request to Ged that he start a new weekly series called That Wino Icon Show? Ged will host, of course, and it shall be set in cozy hunting lodge. New guests every week and audience made up solely of Rush fans. Ged wines and dines us, like the generous host he is, and talks about whatever "turns him on". Now that is an Emmy worthy venture...

This is old news by now, but I just watched the ep of That Metal Show today. Was pretty good overall. Liked Ged's answers on tour and album questions. Ged also cracked me up during the Stump Trunk section ("you get no guitar"). Just wish it could have been longer and more in depth, but I always wish for that :D.

Well, never heard of Radar (is that really a town?? If so, it would certainly be the honorary Rush capital of Iowa, lol) and have heard of Ottumwa. I'm from the very eastern nose tip of the state myself.

I'm gonna sit in my sad little corner and sob pathetically. (*On a side note, I am glad to hear that the Icon show seems good.)

MP is awesome, but not the top dog. I don't care what Ged and Neil think :P.

I'd walk away silently escaping everyone's notice with a ribbon of Geddy Lee TP trailing off the bottom of my right sneaker.

He will go the safest route and say his favorite is My Favorite Headache because we all know how much Ged loves ye olde shameless self promotion :P.

I just looked up pics of the bobble Rush. They are freaking amazing, lol! I need those in my life someday. I just picture someone more clever than I making a YouTube series of the adventures of the Rush bobbles...that would make my year. Let's petition the band and make it happen :D.

I do not have one, but have seriously thought about getting the Ged one at least. He would be my bestest friend and we would go on many adventures together.

An autobiography or something in line with the comprehensiveness of the Beatles Anthology would be stellar. Sadly, Rush doesn't really have those (not counting Neil's books, which seem like they'd probably be kinda boring).

Every band/musician seems to have crummy tastes on their own material though. It means something entirely different to them than it does their fans. Perfect example that no one here will probably get is Tom Petty's opinion on his album Echo. It's a brilliant piece of music, but he hates it to this day b/c he wrote the songs during a horribly depressing time in his life.

I ended up ordering Contents Under Pressure and the Rush FAQ. Both had pretty good reviews and the right price point. Now if only Ged would get off his ass and pen a novel...

Warm hugs and snuggles? Yeah, sure...I know that's all I wish him *gulps*...

My Rush vinyl collection is quite small: 2112 and Permanent Waves. CD collection is much larger.

It's still hard to be diplomatic with weapons pointed at ones head by fans...

Okay, new group project! Let's create a Rush themed audio book collection for Narps on the double!

Just out of curiosity, are there any half descent books about Rush out there that anyone has read? I also take pride in the fact that I've reached the level of fan geekery that makes me want to read books about them. Perhaps I really am a true fan ;).
