  1. Ooffff I love Baby Be Mine. Absolutely catchy little tune. Can’t fault you for being sick of thriller, just listen to Fall Out Boy’s song of the same name instead, lol. Never been super huge on the ballads at the back end.
  2. I’m glad you like them! I’m not always in the mood, but when I am this is one of the records of theirs I’ll always come back to. The other is Scheherazade And Other Stories.
  3. Renaissance is very beautiful music, glad you could enjoy it! Prologue is the record of theirs you should check out to get a bit heavier, or Scheherazade And Other Stories for more beauty and grandeur!
  4. Apashe - Antagonist (EDM heavily influenced by hip hop and romantic era symphonic music) Minutemen - Double Nickels On A Dime Soft On Crime - New Suite (80s influenced post punk from Dublin) Def Leppard - Hysteria Foreigner - 4 Foreigner - Agent Provocateur
  5. As a staunch defender of Madrigal, if his wife decided to divorce him over that, she has no taste in music
  6. I mean I’m only 25 but yeah this is a reasonable attitude
  7. Periphery - Periphery II Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Passion Pit - Manners Of Monsters And Men - My Head Is An Animal
  8. Asia’s debut is sick, but oddly stale at times. I think they got lucky with that record and then discovered they really didn’t have the magic any of their old bands did afterwards. 90125 is a perfect reinvention. It keeps the spirit of Yes alive in a totally new context.
  9. It’s like you’re both trying to get my attention, and Segue you are winning! Mick I actually happen to be playing 90125 right now, lol. 10/10 Yes absolutely! Segue I love all of these albums (except I haven’t listened to Wonderful Wonderful yet!). So glad Paramore is clicking for you! TIW recently overtook Life Is But A Dream for my aoty top contender.
  10. I’ve definitely noticed your fandom of them, lol. This is was a great introduction. I look forward to checking out more!
  11. It didn’t sound terribly fresh but it did sound terribly good. You weren’t kidding about the death metal Iron Maiden aspect of it, but they do an excellent job fusing the two. I especially loved the use of dynamics, letting some songs have acoustic passages or spoken word vocals to break things up, and the riffs were plenty heavy and the record didn’t overstay its welcome. Will revisit.
  12. Emperor - In The Nightside Ecplise In Flames - Whoracle Immortal - At The Heart Of Winter Great stuff all.
  13. 1. From the gazillion new records I’ve checked out this year: Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good! The throwback modern tinged disco thing Dua Lipa does but better. 2. Just from things I have: The Tangent - A Spark In The Aether Anthemic, very well produced and written modern prog. 3. From my local music scene in DC: Rosie Cima And What She Dreamed - Realm Of The Warring Gods Emotive and imagery laden poetry set to western tinged indie rock. Very well produced for something made by people I’m actually friends with.
  14. I was wondering when you were gonna see this, lol. I’ve decided I’ve waiting long enough to give myself black metal 101. Got some recs from a local metal head I’m gonna spin in the next couple days. Do you have any? Oh I also spun Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hunger Lee Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same yeaterday.
  15. Lorna Shore - …And I Return To Nothingness (spun twice) Immortal - At The Heart Of Winter Bathory - Bathory Mastodon - Leviathan
