  1. almost liked your post for the white walker/direwolves reference but then I saw the rest of it I will say that I don't think exile is a particularly consistent album, but its overall vibe (which is different from any other stones record) and feel are why it's so highly regarded I think. I should have stopped at Direwolves then bathroy . . Y`know what I will give it another go . As I said . I do like The Stones ......Honest . Just a thought . The Stones were critical about their performance on The Rock N Roll Circus they did`nt release it for decades . I hope they feel the same about Glastonbury .
  2. Tom .Y. Look away now Well the press and all the world seem to think it`s the best performance from any band that has ever played Glastonbury . Which brings to mind of the film V. For Vendatta The media brain washing the masses to believe what people on Television are telling them is the truth . Marc Radcliffe did slip off his mask just one second and the realised what his wife would say if he went home that night and told her he`d lost his job by telling the truth . As for Jo Whilley . Well I would really like to do what Fat Boy Slim doe`s to her (But better)
  3. I know I must sound like a right moaning minnie about The Stones . Travelled all the way to London(They mus`nt had heard of the North in those days , maybe they heard tales about the White Walkers and Direwolves ) to see them in 1982 at Wembley( I did think they were a bit past it then) , so I do have a bit of love for the old buggers But . I think Exile is a crap album . How the hell it ends up in top Best albums of all time lists is beyond me . I just don`t like it . Tried many many times to even get past the first track , but it is drab . :finbar:
  4. Ok , I hold my hand up with Hounds Of Love I do like The Dreaming very much , but as in terms of sales and critical praise , The Dreaming got neither . Tango In the Night as above . :) . How about McCartney with Flowers In The Dirt .
  5. WHAAAAAAATTT????????? U MAD. Like, they're like, The Eagles on weak beer. They do remind of a water based luqiud . That has passed through my Kidneys . and goe`s with poor .
  6. I would just like to mention that I don`t like this band . Thank You .
  7. The Who. Liverpool . Tonight ! :D I`m excited . Alot .
  8. One hell of a Poll Treeduck ! I`ve been a Stones fan from about 77 onwards and my last album I bought was Tattoo You and then after that , I think they were very poor . I will be interested to see if anyone is going to vote for anything past ... Well Tattoo You . My 3 . Sticky Fingers Let It Bleed Some Girls .(just for the brilliant Far Away Eyes really) Get Your Ya Ya`s Out is Prob the best live album .
  9. Tango In The Night . Fleetwood Mac . Hounds Of Love - Kate Bush
  10. I saw them in 1982 and I thought they were old then ! I don`t think age is an excuse , if your crap your crap so what age you are. Keith Richards looked like someone who has just learned to play the guitar about a week ago .
  11. Well I`ve just sat through The Stones and it was like a Car Crash accident , You might see something terrible but you just have to look . Then the Music Police come along and move you on .
  12. Got to say that last episode had me on the edge of my seat , mouth opened ! What a series , what a show , what the hell is going to happen next week ! This is television at it`s best . By the way , I dont go on Twiter or the other one , I would like to go about my day without any no lifer try to spoil the very few enjoyments I have .
  13. Reason No 1. To see this film . :finbar: http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x117/coxy2112/Sci%20Fi%20and%20Films/Star-Trek-Alice-Eve-Underwear-Dragonlord_zpsfdaa723d.jpg
  14. Love The Mac . I`ve seen them twice and been a fan since 78 . Could`nt get a ticket for this up and coming tour . They sold out in minutes for Manchester . Any spares ?
  15. That is a question bathroy ! My first ever gig was a cold Febuary in 1978 and the band was called Rush . Since that night I got addicted to gigs , mainly Rock gigs and most of all Prog Bands . Pink Floyd , first time The Wall Earls Court 1980 . Yes, many times , Uriah Heep , Barclay James Harvest , Asia, Radiohead , Flaming Lips , Jethro Tull, Mike Oldfield , Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters . Jon Anderson , Rick Wakeman together and solo . I like a bit of Prog . :D
  16. I just think Townsend seems to go under the radar when great Rock guitarists are mentioned , I`ve always been knocked out by him when I`ve seen him live . A Steve Hillage fan ! I think we have a lot in common . :D did you ever see gong live? I did it was about 2 years ago . :D As Steve Hillage had recorded a new album with them and of course toured with them . Support band . The Steve Hillage band . :smoke: And I have news ! In the latest Prog Mag there is an interview with Steve . He`s recorded a new album and guess what ! He`s touring at the begining of next year . They said tickets go on sale tomorrow . 31st of June . The Manchester Ritz . March . I will be there , barring a sell out . Heres a photo I took . http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x117/coxy2112/IMG_0429.jpg
  17. I know i`m showing my age but I bought Venus And Mars when it came out . I`ve pre ordered Rock Show , I just need to save up for The Wings Over America 2 cd , :)
  18. All The World`s A Stage . Up there with the best Live albums . Brilliant .
  19. Good luck with that RushFlyer2112. Just think the more money you earn the more you can spend on Rush albums . :)
