I don't think that Everyday Glory is about child abuse, more about how the good deeds you do for your fellow man every day are more important than you may realize I remember when K-ROCK radio station had the premier of "Counterparts" with Geddy Talking about the songs they played 3 songs "Between Sun And Moon" ,Cold Fire" and "Everyday Glory" where he mentioned how Neil was addressing child abuse and a sorta a "seize the day vibe" to it,so actually we are both right lol if your ever in NYC come to my bar I'll buy you a beer...DRINK IT!
  2. Are you pretty, from New York City? :D Well, I'm from New York City, anyway! What part? I'm in the Lower Eastside of Manhattan I was born on the Lower East Side and lived in Greenwich Village growing up. No shit! I live on E.5th ST btwn ave A & B look for the building where there's a guy out front singing Jimi Hendrix songs and air guitar but holding a broom instead .....it's great specially at 3am when you got the drunks singing with him lol,I gave him 10 bucks so sing "Red Barchetta" and he did it ....really good, haha funny shit that's NYC for ya
  3. See that was another thing I noticed ....he's gettin older and seems to be doing slower percussion driven solos almost like those lifeHACK drummers just doin odd stuff not bad but there's no pattern to it just banging on shit but they sound like a 3 yr old banging on a pan, although Neil has a pattern and mad skills and still is DA MAN!!!! But hearing 2 songs (hey could be a song you been wanting to hear!) hmmm I'll take the 2 songs but I would miss the drum solo but the guy needs a break too taxing. But if he didn't want to do it anymore Neil would stop so that means he enjoys it (as he should)
  4. Very true there are people who go to hear the drum solo and some may say the highlight of the show, which is fine as for me I'm just mixed about it he keeps gettin better but I'd like to see some radical changes I mean hell they brought a small string section last tour (although the next tour I doubt it) As for your wife...well I force my wife (even though we are married we constantly argue and spilt up a lot but always find are way back to each other I mean A mean M a Spanard and hardcore NYer and her a laid back Aussie now living permanently living in NY you know arguments will fly lol) lol only she says "I'm only goin if we get a suite" (I got family members at Sony, daily news, etc that can get the suite tickets free) they have at Madison Square Garden and at all other arenas and stadiums around the world. Also and I know this is bad but I lie "will they play Resist acoustic and New Wordld Man,Digital Man,Enemy Within?" My reply "umm yeah sure whatever" like me she is a big fan of the reggae influence era of Rush cause well we look Roots, dub step, reggae.Of course if they aren't played I get the "face" and I say "hey not my fault go yell at Geddy,Alex and Neil they deserve it not me those should be played!" Hehe And I have now appointed myself the voice of all Rush fans in the room we wanna hear those songs......so get cracking, thank you (Gets off soapbox)

Agreed Counterparts was the tits!!! I went nuts when I was at the Virgin store (or was it coconuts) back in October 93 at the midnight release (remember when they did that? So much hanging with fans gettin excited until 12:00am hit and buying it on Vinyl and CD and hearing Animate than slamming into the badass Stick It Out,then on to the killer which should be played live Cut To The Chase, beautiful Nobody's Hero,Between Sun & Moon (very underrated) Alien Shore & Speed Of Love (another song I'd love to hear live), the eerie Double Agent and great live, sweet instrumental Leave That Thing Alone" (although I do prefer "where's My Thing" more),the ripping Cold Fire another fav that should be considered to be brought back and finally the personal (to me at least) about child abuse Everday Glory The album is just perfection and way better than "T4E" I think Rush and Peter Collins slacked a bit there with "Limbo",Dog Years,Crave Away The Stone",Time And Motion" not crap songs but just seems like there a bit off like more could've been done, still a great album but when I heard VT years later it blew T4E out of the water and my mind. But hey there isn't a bad or shit Rush album I enjoy them all just ones like "PoW,HYF,T4E,S&A seem to not get played as much on my daily subway rides to work everyday or at home or when I'm in plane traveling
  6. I know I'm gonna get some shit for this and as a drummer too but I'd like to see Neil retire the solo that was we could get another 2 Rush songs in there.Im not saying this that the solos sucks I enjoy them but I'd rather hear more Rush songs than a solo.so hears to no solo on the next tour to the people who dig it I'm sorry but I wouldn't worry it will happen its a staple at Rush shows people know when you go to a Rush show your gonna hear the Professer Like Bubbles said in the "Trailer Park Boys" episode "Closer to the Heart" (which was very funny) "come on Ricky Geddy Lee,Alex Lifeson,Neil Peart you know he's gonna do that f*ckin Drum solo!! Haha Please don't start throwing tomatoes at me until I pull up my Plastic sheet.....ok through now!
  7. Haha my long hair when I go out is all blown out I look like Johnny Thunders New York Dolls era lol but I grow it long than cut it than grow it long again it's a constant cycle,my blown out hair is done by wind and weather lol
  8. I was there "Bauhaus" fawkin rocks, those guys still got it.....fawk now I gotta through on "The Mask" and get down to "Kick In The Eye 2" love that jam as the whole album ,not to mention the others

  10. That is a moving painting I love it as well and as for Franco well even though he remained neutral (not really) he actually sent his "Blue Division" to help the Germans on the Russian front. But the BD really had no impact, but I always wondered if he sided with Hitler in WW2 what ramifications it would had.he had a army that had combat experience, excellent location for the Germans could have sped up the North Africa campaigns. Its very scary how close that madman almost came to making Europe one big Nazi flag My grandfather Marcos and uncle Ramon were not that far from the bombing but saw the after effects and were just disgusted and horrified and he knew Franco would win and the Republic would fall very sad when I read his diaries which we still have It's crazy that it was almost 6 months to the day that when the Spanish civil war ended WW2 began That's very cool that you have those diaries. We actually had to laminate most of the pages some had water damage, time wear and tear, etc but it's a glimpse into such a crazy time,I kinda miss that people don't keep diaries but than again I guess all these network sites are diaries in some way.but to hold history in your hands is just something else there's something magical about the printed word on aged pages. Not really the same as old paper and written word but I did get to see something quite fascinating once.My ex GF from a few years back who spoke fluent German and noticed her last name was "Himmler" but figured it was a coincidence. One night her father (killer musician btw) he noticed my love of history and WW2 and showed me something that still has me astounded to this day,he reavled that they were indeed descendants of Himmler (Himmler had a brother who served in the Luftwatte but like many Germans he was disgusted by National socialism of Nazism) and proceeded to show me his uniforms a silver plated Luger given to him by Hitler and one pair of his moon spectacle glasses.I was in awe but also very terrified to know that this was the man leader of the SS 2nd to Hitler and here I am holding his SS skull insignia hat, long leather jackets, and also documents, letters he wrote to his children. But I tell you this I could feel the evil on these items and although interested was just taken aback. They still have the items and decline interviews and documentaries even turned down one recently that was about the children of nazi officials.Sadly they also once in awhile get nuts coming to their house wanting to know if there descendants of him and they lie,she has since added a 2nd last name like hyphenated. But it's crazy to know she was a descendant of that man who she called a "monster" and that he was and like many took the easy way out You have great stories, bud! That's crazy! You know what I found crazier was when I read his letters to his children it was like a different man his devotion to his kids particularly to a girl the name I have forgotten but such love and yet this is the man who visited concentration camps and wanted to build the Nazi Temple which was built .....partially but just like about a drop in a huge massive construction but the war was starting to go into the Allies favor and all construction was halted. But talk about 2 sides of a man .....but the same can be said about all them
  11. "Dr Stranglove" with my fav line (and fav movie) "You can't fight in here. this is the war room!" Hahaha

  20. I live in northern Nevada and we have lots of Basques here. Are you originally from Euskadi (the Basque Country)? Yes I was born right outside of Bilbao in the Biscay region very beautiful area specially the Bay Area I have dual citizenship Spain/US,also much respect that u used the word Euskadi  I've been to Bilbao. Beautiful place. San Sebastian is nice, too. The entire region is striking, and the people are amazing. I've got lots of basque friends here...Etchegaray, Etchegoyen, Lekumberry, Oxoby. I go back as much as I can and I love jamming with the street musicians a lot of them do older stuff which is great but when they heard my NYC accent they ripped into some Ramones lol right by the beach good times There was something in the news that they found one of the last Franco statues or something like that (may he burn in hell that fascist pig he let Germans destroy Guernica.) Have you seen the Gernikako Arbola? I know it's been destroyed, replanted there are 3 sites very sacred Tree I haven't seen it. That is such a sad story in history, and Franco... Pan's Labyrinth did a good job capturing the fascist psyche, I thought. I have spent hours staring at the Picasso painting Guernica in the Reina Sofia. Powerful... http://www.oneonta.edu/faculty/farberas/arth/Images/ARTH200/Power/picasso_guernica.jpg That is a moving painting I love it as well and as for Franco well even though he remained neutral (not really) he actually sent his "Blue Division" to help the Germans on the Russian front. But the BD really had no impact, but I always wondered if he sided with Hitler in WW2 what ramifications it would had.he had a army that had combat experience, excellent location for the Germans could have sped up the North Africa campaigns. Its very scary how close that madman almost came to making Europe one big Nazi flag My grandfather Marcos and uncle Ramon were not that far from the bombing but saw the after effects and were just disgusted and horrified and he knew Franco would win and the Republic would fall very sad when I read his diaries which we still have It's crazy that it was almost 6 months to the day that when the Spanish civil war ended WW2 began

  22. No covers "Feedback" was nice and all but when I go to see Rush I wanna hear them rip into their own jams like when I heard in 2002 VT tour them doin "By-Tor & The Snowdog" I thought there was gonna be a hap-hap-happy riot!!!! I remember hearing people go "holy shit there playin Snowdog?!?!?....YES!!!" Lol
  23. "high Water" is cool but if you heard "Dog Years","Tai Shan" played on the next tour you'll see about the whole place run out to take splash or buy insanely expensive merchandise "where are the bootleg shirts?!?!?"
  24. COS is great I just assumed Rush were smoking too much (which is fine) I mean I know in the Rio doc when Geddy says about set lists "I don't care how much they wanna hear were not playing it" which is funny but I'm sure he's referring to COS
