  1. QUOTE (tick @ Jan 31 2009, 08:59 AM) Many here know the story of the UFO I saw in Milford in 78. Hundreds of people in the state saw what I saw that night. It was a saucer hovering over a field 200 yards away from my house. I will never forget it. Got a link Tick?
  2. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Jan 28 2009, 08:57 PM) Perhaps if and when they remaster this bad boy, I'll feel differently but I'm just not a big fan of this album.....it's hard to say if that's because of the music itself or horrible quality, but for me it would be a tough choice to pick a least favorite as it rivals Test for Echo in average to below average songs by Rush's standards I will put the songs on this album into 3 categorites The Classics (in order) 1. Earthshine 2. Ghost Rider 3. One Little Victory 4. Peaceable Kingdom The just "OK" songs 1. Secret Touch 2. Ceiling Unlimited 3. Out of the Cradle 4. Freeze 5. Nocturne 6. Sweet Miracle The throw aways 1. The Stars Look Down 2. How it is 3. Vapor Trail Worst song is Stars Look Down for me I am an Out Of The Cradle Fan..... The thing about Vapor Trails is, I remember driving down the road, so unbelievable anxious, waiting to hear the new Rush release on the radio we ALL had been hungry for, and then it came on.... Neil's double bass and hi hat and snare, in an incredibly arranged opening on OLV, and then the guitars and bass came in and I looked over to my wife and said... "Honey, I can't believe it, but that sounds like shit".... I loved the song, but it sounded like it was mixed in a metal trash can... I got on my cell phone and called my friend in Virginia, and asked if he had heard the new release, and he pretty much said, and I may not be quoting him verbatim, "That sounds like shit...." The point is, I, like many of you guys, am an audiophile, and I just can't get past the mix and production of Vapor Trails. I do love the songs, and the approach they took to the songs, even without the blazing Alex solos, and with all the layering of numerous tracks....it is a cool collection of great songs, that I feel I could have mixed and produced better that Paul Northfield quite honestly, and believe me when I say that I really believe that.....
  3. Just finished it....I thought it was well done. Seems like a good story line.
  4. I had to go 20 pages into Video Vertigo to find this topic... Well finally boys and girls, Jack's back tonight on Fox! Lets hope for a kick ass show.
  5. QUOTE (goose @ Jan 6 2009, 03:49 AM) Peace. Of course we don't even know these folks, but I swear I haven't been able to get this out of my mind since I read it. My heart goes out to the family and yes Test, that photo is simply amazing.
  6. I first saw Rush during the Permanent Waves Tour and actually gave up going to the Prom in High School for it....I had a great girlfriend who also wanted to go see them with me. Never had any regrets whatsoever.
  7. Loved, in no particular order: Kolchak, The Night Stalker Happy Days Baa Baa Black Sheep Six Million Dollar Man Bionic Woman Wonder Woman Creature Feature Starsky & Hutch Charlie's Angels Fantasy Island
  8. There aren't shows that good around anymore....
  9. I thought it was quite good, and foreshadowing good things to come...my only criticism: Spoilers below: shooting the kids in the back seemed over the top to me....but then again 24 always does the unthinkable.... "Someone get me a hacksaw"
  10. I thought it was very well done and a great watch....I TiVo'd it and watched it later instead of my Redskins playing grab ass with the Cowboys....!
  11. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Nov 16 2008, 05:58 AM) Thanks for the notice and the PM on this, Jack. I love watching docs about the assassination, even the ones I disagree with. For those who haven't followed our JFK discussions over in SOCN: I was once a conspiracy theorist, I bought into all that Oliver Stone crap, I read a half-dozen conspiracy books... but then I did a 180. Read "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner, coupled with the virtual reality re-enactment (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSBXW1-VGmM&feature=related) de-bunking the "magic bullet." Nothing magic about it at all; the single shot to Kennedy and Connally lines up perfectly. The simplest explanation is the most reasonable, which is something the conspiracy theorists don't understand. "Inside the Target Car"? The title sounds like it might be giving credence to a wacky theory that's all the rage now: that Kennedy was assassinated by an agent within his own car! Makes as much sense as the folks who thought the shots came from ground level, from a sewer grate. I was being sarcastic above GeddyRulz... I loved the BBC piece on this, I agree completely with you and Jack. If you or anyone is interested, it is well done and here is the link:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7184933155238761777
  12. QUOTE (liquidcrystalcompass @ Nov 15 2008, 03:40 PM) Nothing in life gives Foghorn Leghorn more pleasure than whipping that poor dog's ass I absolutely love the "whop whop whop whop whop whop" sound the board makes on that poor dogs' nether regions!!!
  13. I am fascinated by the greatest conspiracy in history, the cover-up of the assassination of JFK and lack of ability to define the co-conspirators involved....
  14. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Nov 15 2008, 02:04 PM) Do any of you remember SSPs?! I had the Scorpion in metallic gold! Jack, I had the Ram Jet SSP and man you made me smile big time when I saw that video link. That was one of my all time favorite toys....I had Steve Austin too, but I tied a parachute made out of my dad's handkerchief to his head and would throw him up way high in the air and watch him parachute to the ground...God that was fun...!
  15. Mid 30's all day here in Ohio, with rain and snow flurries, and I am bald. Geeshhh!!!!!!!!
  16. There is unrest in the forest, There is trouble in my pants....
  17. KHHAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I just completed my Live catalog. I have to say that as they have matured, their music has gotten more and more sterile. Their old stuff was full of fire. Loved their sound. Its all a bit more canned now......good not great.
  19. QUOTE (ReRushed @ May 14 2008, 09:52 AM) Yes. I think acknowledging John Rutsey is about as far as they would go. Playing a song from the debut album would be nice, but I don't think they'll do it. If it was me, I would play the debut album in its entirety over the PA before the concert.
  20. Yes...it was that great. More violent than Saving Private Ryan, and truly just as good in its own way. Acting is great for those in the movie. Top Notch really and what you'd expect for a Rambo movie. Sly is in better shape than anyone in America. It's been running an 8.0 over at IMDB for a while with over 16,000 votes. Truly a well done movie.
  21. York was the better Dork...um I mean Dick!
