  1. As much as we may like the CA material, it's safe to say that a lot of casual fans are just there waiting to hear TS and TSOR, and I'm okay with that. Hopefully they walk away wanting to hear more of the CA material and go buy it. Speaking of casual fans. Once I was at an Aerosmith show with a friend. Not my favorite band, but still a great rock band to see live. My friend says to me towards the end of the show "Do you think they'll play I was made for loving you baby?". I tell him I don't think they will play that one, because that song is by Kiss lol. He was actually disappointed.
  2. So my wife left work at lunch to go to a closeby store and pick me up the deluxe edition Blu Ray. It came with an XL blah tee. I don't know if other sizes were avalible (I'm a M), but they only had 1 BRD left, so close enough. My first impression. It's awesome! But I don't think it will be my favourite concert Blu Ray at all. The picture is awesome, such vibrant colours, lots of peart-cam. I am not crazy about about the camera angles from in the crowd, I've already seen them on youtube and real life. I am very thankful that they were able to capture the clockwork angels experience on film with all the songs played on the tour, although the production on Phoenix songs isn't as good. The audio is decent, but certainly not as good as TMT, S&A or R30 IMO. Technically that would make it the worst blu ray sound quality Rush has released, but I don't want to be too picky. Overall, it's a little more raw than the other films. I will probably grow to love it more just because I loved the tour so much.
  3. If I would get it faster that way I would do it, but I would rather go out and buy it on release day.
  4. I can't believe anyone can think youtube videos shot on an iphone are a replacement for a professional filmed/recorded Blu Ray, in 1080p, crystal clear 5.1 sound, rocking through my home theatre system, reliving the real concert I went to. They are money well spent, I would happily pay much more than the normal retail price. For $25 they are giving them away. Yes I also wish they had more old shows like T4E, of that the Replay X3 set were complete concerts. If you guys haven't already you should check out Queen Rock Montreal. I've never been any big fan of them, but that disc has amazing picture and sound, capturing one of the great bands at their peak. It's fantastic.
  5. Neil almost got killed by a deer in Texas...........and Texas is awesome! Texas IS awesome! Best state hand downs!
  6. This is why I refuse to go to a theatre now. People talking, texting, taking calls, terrible tasting oil drenched popcorn. It's much easier to be at home with HD on demand, better sound, better snacks, adult beverages, and I can pause it to go to the bathroom. Sorry for going off topic. I agree wholeheartedly. Take a few pics or video clips and put your phone away.
  7. I am willing to tolerate the wait if it's it to add footage from Red Deer, or Sweden Rock Festibal, or Both. Either would be awesome.
  8. I cannot wait for this thing to come out. I'm sure my wife will be sick of it after the first week of blasting it, and seeing as my work involves custom home theatre I'm sure my coworkers will be sick of me demo'ing/testing with this disc, provided it's as awesome as I hope. They've all heard S&A between the wheels a few too many times lol
  9. All the videos on youtube, particularily Columbus, will have to keep holding me over for now
  10. Considering only picture quality, R30 Blu Ray to S&A Blu Ray, S &A is marginally better. But if your comparing R30 DVD to S&A Blu Ray, obviously S&A wins by a landslide. Just buy them they are worth it. I have to ask. Why do you specifically ask about RSA? I can only assume it's your #1 track. Personally for me I compare Between the Wheels of R30 and S&A and S&A wins by a landslide. Alex just sounds 10 times better, really shredding.
  11. I like your spirit, and I miss those days, but after all this time of online ticketing we're not going back. If your from YEG than you probably remember the AC/DC show in 2001. That was the first big concert around here that if you tried to buy in person or on the phone you got garbage seats, or possibly no tickets at all. Since then everyone had to learn how to do it online. (Personally that was the first gig that I bought tix for online, and many of my friends say the same thing) I wasn't at that show but I saw them here 3 times in the 80's (and I camped out dammit! lol) I think Rush in '02 was the first time I bought online but don't remember any issues. I see by your post that you were at that show too, ..and that you had front row in Red Deer you lucky bugger!! I was in row 10 in Red Deer. Yes, Rush '02 was still pretty fresh to online ticket buying for a lot of people especially some of the older fans. I remember for 2002 having Row 6 on the floor, right in front of Geddy. My poor uncle sitting up in 118, asking how the hell I got such awesome tickets and I had to telll him that calling and waiting on hold for 2 hours for a big concert is for suckers. That was my first Rush show and it was unreal.

  13. The R30 Blu Ray is worth every penny. I feel like I stole it having only paid the regular $25. I would have gladly paid more. Video is not quite as nice as S&A, but the audio is awesome, the band sounds great, great set list. I am big on concert DVD's and this one is probably the best overall Rush video, and they are all awesome.
  14. I don't like the idea of the stadium shows. Keep going with the arena tours. The CA tour hit a lot of cities, but I could understand if they have to run less dates. Hopefully they can keep as many dates in. They keep taking all these little 10 day breaks in the middle of the tour. I don't want to hear them title it a farewell tour, because then it would be the end. They aren't going to mess around like Kiss who was here in 2000 on their Farewell tour, and then came a few weeks ago.
  15. I would have loved to have been at that show. Last show of the tour and It looks like such a beautiful venue. I used to frequent the area and saw it many times during it;s construction, and then a few more once complete.
  16. I sing along pretty much the whole show @ Rush, along with air drumming the best fills and the best parts, provided theres space. I'm not belting it out, just a normal volume. I doubt the person next to me can hear much of it (although my wife thinks I'm a great singer) because the show is so loud anyways. I know that I have to be close so the people around me will share my enthusiasm in general. If me having the time of my life bothers someone I may not notice, and certainly don't care. I'm sure there are many "fans" that annoy the band doing numerous things, but can't ever imagine them complaining to each other after a concert about jerks up close that were singing, air drumming too much lol
  17. It's sad to see a tour ending. I made it to 2 shows, and the 10 months between them felt like forever but you feed off the excitement of others going to their shows. Then, like everything, it ends. I cannot wait for the Blu Ray to come out. I just hope the editing and audio mix does the CA tour justice. I can only hope there will be another tour someday.
  18. I liked the Toronto pics, but your Double Neck pics are so cool you lucky bastard lol. I wonder if Alex had a streak of Don Cherry in him when it came to clothes for a few years.
  19. I thought it was May and then pushed back to Sept. Please don't make it longer than Sept!
  20. It was my favourite show, beating my Vapour Trails Experience by a hair. It helps that I have had plenty of time to warm up to not only the CA material but also the PWin material, that although still one of my least favorite albums those songs still sound absolutely great live. I hate to say it but Limelight was probably the most boring song for me last night compared to Grand Design. It means a lot that these guys were willing to come here on their own dime and play the full meal deal show for free just to help out some fellow canucks. It would have been much easier to do like Kiss and other Saddledome booked acts and just cancel. I just hope that they had 1% as much fun as I did, grinning away in the front row.
  21. It wasn't the Kick drum per say. It was the pedal assembly. I could see it from my spot. Broken spring I think becayse the footboard looked like it was stationary on the floor, therefore the pedal doesn't come back up for the next hit.
  22. Too bad the last 2 mins of Analog Kid was ruined by lack of Kick drum :(
  23. Amazing Show. Great Sound. I'm still smiling from ear to ear. Very special for us, first time ever being in the front row, right in front of Geddy. My ears are still ringing now. Manhattan Project. To the best of my memory the CA tunes were Caravan, CA, Anarchist, Carnies, Halo, Wreckers, Headlong, Garden. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or missed anything. Even though they started an hour late the didn't shorten the set, thank god. Although those of us driving home to Edm or Calgary after the show are probably a little tired this morning but totally worth it. They also ran out of pretty much all Merch. The Red Deer flood shirt ran out first, then I decided I'd try for the red sphere, but long gone. Almost everything was and the lineups just never let up
