  1. Xanadu also had lasers. Blue single lasers, made an awesome "cave" around the band for the beginning.
  2. I think you're wrong and Clockwork isn't even their last album.
  3. OH GOD not Jack Black he is terribly not funny, he ruined Beyond the Lighted Stage for me. Plus we'd probably have to hear a couple of his bloody power chords and awful singing.
  4. QUOTE (Dscrapre @ Sep 19 2012, 09:26 PM) On this tour Geddy seems to be playing a bass that I don't think I've ever seen before. It's the white one that he uses on Halo Effect, Headlong Flight, The Wreckers and The Garden. I'm not sure if it's on any others. The point is, why? I know that he changes basses when performing songs in alternate tunings, so, does that mean that those songs are all in a non-standard tuning? If so what are they in? Curiosity, man. It's a different year than his others, different pickup setup, he must think it sounds best for the new songs that's my guess. It's not white either it's mint green
  5. QUOTE (Territorial_Game @ Sep 18 2012, 02:05 PM) SW posted another video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tepmJdFYiqI The watchmaker keeps to his schemes. Its seriously a great time to be a Steven Wilson fan
  6. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Sep 13 2012, 09:24 AM) My wager is that there are two tours left after this one... *R40 *Farewell Tour ...yet, another reason I don't care what they play. I'm just enjoying every opportunity I have to see them live. why is everyone predicting their demise, shut the f**k up and quit doubting them! This is like me saying I think my mother has two maybe three birthdays left. I think people doubt them way to much, they love what they are doing, why the f**k would they stop.
  7. QUOTE (fansince1979 @ Sep 13 2012, 01:06 AM) http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=420147 The link above to another tapers recording of Manchester is MUCH better sound quality than the recording in this thread, it has a lot more "in your face" sound, plus better high end and low end. It was just uploaded to dime today. Lots of positive comments in the thread, like this one.... "blackout at 2012-09-13 03:17:06 GMT Great recording! We've found the gem so far. Thank you very much for posting, I can't imagine anyone having a better version. Everything is nice, deep and clear." AND THERE GOES ALL MY WORK
  8. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Sep 12 2012, 09:44 PM) My point is I don't think Rush wants to continue that way...having to play 80's songs and soft stuff because it's easier. Maybe I'm wrong...you just never know. I want to soak up every second of the concert because I definitely feel like we won't get much more of this as someone who plays both Guitar and Bass I find it funny you think the 80's stuff is easier, it's much harder than most things put out in the 70's I'm guessing the guys from Rush are just playing it this tour because it's really related to the meanings of Clockwork Angels and the 80's are a great balance to the kick ass second set. 80's Rush is best Rush..
  9. QUOTE (Animate @ Sep 12 2012, 04:12 PM) Downloaded CD1, converted to MP3 etc. I am really amazed at how great these sound! Will you upload these onto youtube ASAP, because the sound quality of the different video clips on youtube is, ahem, "lacking" (understandably, being recorded with cell phones etc), and it is only fair to give people the opportunity to hear these. Can't wait to hear CD2 and CD3! Go ahead and upload it with cover art if you want, I really can't continue to work on it for now. I go to school from 7:20 to 2:25 and then I'm at work from 3:00 to 9:00 so sorry! I really wish I could dedicate more time to this, but I'm done with everything friday at 2:25 so I'll work on it all friday night and get CD 2 up on Dropbox.
  10. QUOTE (greg2112 @ Sep 12 2012, 06:22 AM) From what I recall, the lawn section in DC was almost completely empty just before showtime, a rare site for bigger acts that play that venue. Same with Maiden, but it packed up rather nicely around 3 songs in.
  11. QUOTE (zappafrank @ Sep 11 2012, 10:47 PM) My group had 4 tix in section 216. When we went to enter to go to our seats, we were told that we'd been upgraded since our section was tarped off. We ended up getting section 105, so we paid for lowest priced seats but got the next level up! But we did wonder why so much was tarped off, and it looks like even the nosebleeds that were kept open weren't filled. I'm really at a loss as to why this show might have undersold. Everyone else's loss, who decided not to make it! I've been to Consol a few times and they usually do this if the bottom section doesn't sell enough and VIP reserved seats aren't claimed, I'm sure it was probably like 55% sold out which is really good these days especially for Rush.
  12. QUOTE (A rocket that ignites itself @ Sep 11 2012, 07:18 PM) Yeah, I'd say Kentpilot pretty much rules...thanks a hundred times over for sharing! Sounds excellent! No problem! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE THANKS EVERYBODY! I'M SORRY I CAN'T DO IT ALL FASTER. I'VE HAD SUCH A SHIT DAY. I have severe acid reflux so I was up all this morning vomiting spitting out my lungs. I went to look at a Dodge D-50 Sport truck, on the way there got a speeding ticket(75 in 65) I guess that one is my fault but I mean the traffic was going 75. So i'm pretty pissed gonna sit down and watch Snakes and Arrows live, sorry guys
  13. QUOTE (cygnify @ Sep 11 2012, 11:40 AM) QUOTE (kentpilot @ Sep 10 2012, 12:31 PM) So I'm thinking I'm going to leave out the Encores and make CD:III Middletown Dreams The Pass Seven Cities of Gold Dreamline Tom Sawyer The Spirit of Radio 2112 that would be cool - but also neat to hear Alex mess up the solo in TS in Manchester. He mouthed to the guy in front of me : " you play? you're better than me! I stink!" Then proceeded to smell his arm pit, plug his nose, etc. He really botched the beginning of the solo! He f*cks up a few chords in territories, yeah I'll use the Manchester Tom Sawyer best one I have.
  14. QUOTE (rocketom @ Sep 11 2012, 07:32 AM) Power Windows was my Favorinte 2 hour Rush Tour, So I'm happy with the set list. It's a fantastic setlist. I don't believe it's Geddy is taming himself, I just think they wanted to play some good f***ing songs, and they did exactly that!
  15. Best Neil solo, perfect intro for Red Sector A, this thing took me on a whole new plane of existence, absolutely f***ing love it.
  16. QUOTE (billybobjoe1881 @ Sep 11 2012, 12:22 AM) Or does RUSH start right at 8 and play for three hours? Three hours like every tour since Test 4 Echo. WHICH I LOVE!
  17. QUOTE (Todem @ Sep 10 2012, 10:43 PM) He has had some canned guitar parts since as early as the T4E tour. It is underneath for layering and adding some flavor. Listen to Bravado. It's there. And I could give a rats ass. They sound awesome. In this day and age.....and after all the touring they have done...they can use the freedom to have fun and let loose on stage. Remember the HYF tour? Geddy was buried behind the keys....could not move an inch.....check out Turn The Page....insane. They love to embrace tech and no reason they should not to enhance our listening pleasure. Turn the Page would be great live any year, but this is the best set list rush have every played live I mean my friend saw them last year and he's going to the show on the 20th and he gets to see 20 new songs he's never seen. That's delivering! Seriously Iron Maiden is my favorite band and seeing Rush put out a setlist like this makes them look shitty, which I'm pleased hopefully we get a tour like this from them next year. Obscure non single tracks.
  18. QUOTE (Shreddy Lee @ Sep 10 2012, 05:40 PM) "Bass solos annoy me"? I don't understand this. To those who have said that, are you also annoyed by guitar and drum solos? If not, what is so different about the bass? A good solo is a good solo. I would LOVE to see Geddy play a piece where he just plays alone for a while, like Alex gets to do. Yes until this tour I loathed Neils (I like the short ones on this tour especially the one before Red Sector A) solos i'm sure they are cool live but I always skip them, except the big band part, and Guitar solos especially annoy me!
  19. Still not feeling well guys going to take another break City Council meeting tonight and all that.
