  1. Congrats! I already have all that stuff hanging up in my room. Except for the CD and magazine of course.

I don't know how the man does it every tour, but seems with this tour in particular, he's gonna wipe himself out with the vocals on top of everything else he handles Neil and Alex always do their thing and play incredibly, but it always amazes me watching Geddy handle everything. Dude is without a doubt one of the most talented musicians in the history of rock and roll. "How can Geddy still hit those high notes?" "Voice of an angel" "I swear to God he must drink a lot of tea-" "Totes" "Or at least hot water with lemon. . ." The fact Jason and Ryan are massive Rush fans have made me love those two more than I already do. They portray fans so flawlessly that it's not even funny. Wrong- it's not just funny, it's hilarious! Totes Maaa-ah-aaah....goats. > Sup, bro? You wanna go to the Rush concert tonight!? > Oh no, that's tonight? I have board game night with my fiance... > Dude...IT'S F%@&ing RUSH.
  3. Enjoy listening to this masterpiece. And congrats!

Whoops. Yes! Paul*...lol. My bad. It was late last night.

  6. QUOTE (UltimoGuitarist @ Jun 10 2012, 11:07 PM) Those who say carnies is no good obvious don't have an ear for talent, and are bums. no offense. lol EDIT: Having said that, I agree with your statement about The Garden. VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRICKEN overrated. I've listened to the song several times at this point trying to find what people are freaking out over, and its just generic slow melodic typical boring Rush. I'm all for the softer side of Rush, I love Power Windows and simlilar sounding songs, but The Garden is not anything special. So I don't get it. Maybe it's the orchestra and piano? Those kinds of instruments usually get to me. Plus, mixing that in with the trio. Such beautiful sounds.

  8. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 10 2012, 09:08 PM) He's truly a one man band up there! Doing just about everything a human being can possibly handle. Wait maybe thats it. Maybe they aren't human at all. Maybe RUSH are the three aliens they salvaged at the Roswell Crash back in the 50's. Gave them instruments and sent them on their way! No wonder they are so good! They're not even human...It is THEIR'S to understand!!
  9. QUOTE (cygnus_thegodofbalance @ Jun 10 2012, 04:52 PM) And those are Wish Them Well and Carnies. WTW because it's WAY too repetitive, and Carnies because it's just a wall of sound without any cohesion or linear guidance. It's just a mess. AND I think The Garden is vastly overrated on here. All in all though, a great album! Caravan - 8/10 BU2B - 9/10 Clockwork Angels - 9/10 The Anarchist - 9/10 (great opening riff!) Carnies - 6/10 Halo Effect - 7.5/10 Seven Cities of Gold - 7.5/10 The Wreckers - 9/10 Headlong Flight - 8.5/10 BU2B2 - 8/10 Wish Them Well - 7/10 The Garden - 8/10 (great, just overrated) Just because you have a picture of Buster as a part of your signature...I won't judge you. lol

  11. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Jun 10 2012, 10:52 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jun 10 2012, 10:34 PM)QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 10 2012, 08:31 PM) Tears is a slow one, but everything else is all kinds of kick ass for me. Those vocals by a young vibrant Geddy in the chorus of Lessons, yeah sorry that alone just gets my blood running faster than anything on CA, and that's not even close to being the best track on that album which of course is the ridiculous opener. CA is a very strong album for a very old and aging band, but Im not going to get stupid and start comparing it to albums like 2112 and Moving Pictures. Come on now. It's fresh, that's why everyone is calling it the best in 30 years...blah.. etc...etc....In the long run CA doesn't stand a chance ranking up there with the classics amongst the majority of fans..... I love when people use the word 'classic' as if by some product of magic over 30 years, the albums from 2112 to MP have somehow become unmatchable ever, by anything because they are so perfect. Come on, people, they're just albums. Killjoy.
  12. QUOTE (NYM86 @ Jun 10 2012, 04:04 PM) Freeze is long overdue IMO. Song's on fire. Lol...I see what you did there.

Hahah, I love memes. That one isn't even a good one either, all the variations on that page are better than this one.. I think what I love most about this one is his ridiculous hair.
  14. QUOTE (Alexmai @ Jun 10 2012, 03:54 PM) In my opinion, CA is already better than 2112 and Hemispheres (as albums, not single episodes as LVS). Only Moving pictures and probably Permanent waves are currently better... but give it time Whoa! Now, I love this album. But Hemispheres is an almost flawless gem by these guys. Very bold thing for you to say, my friend!
  15. I love VT in general. I would love to listen to a cleaned version! But this is going to sound kind of random.....but I'm enjoy Feedback a ton because of this album.

  17. Give it time! Maybe it might come to you. Even 20 years. It took my dad 15 years to actually like Grace Under Pressure. Hopefully the same thing happens for you. It's not like your opinion is wrong, man! Much respect.
  18. QUOTE (FoxxiStarr @ Jun 10 2012, 11:57 AM) QUOTE (alphseeker @ Jun 10 2012, 12:26 AM) I purposely did not listen to "The Garden" for the last 4 days just to see if i would feel the same after taking a break from it and maybe get a little different perspective perhaps - I just listened to it 20 minutes ago - Same Goose Bumps, Same Choked up feeling in my throat that i had the first time I heard it - This song is extraordinary - For me, the measure of a truly great song is if it moves me emotionally. On every level possible, The Garden does this. It is simple in its construction and Ged's voice without the layering is raw and I agree that Lerxst's solo is one of the most moving he's ever done. The La Villa, Limelight, and The Garden solos are probably now part of my favorite solos ever.
  19. QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Jun 10 2012, 01:56 PM) Was Fear ever called a trilogy by the band? I would enjoy hearing any and all of those songs. I have been wanting TEM and TW for years and I can listen to WH any day as well. This would be fantastic to hear all four parts. I think Neil states it as a trilogy during an interview. I could be wrong, though.

LOL....Anywho, yes the new Shins album is superb. The Rifle's Spiral is a fantastic song along with Fall of 82'. By far one of my favorite albums by them.
  22. While his vocals are superb in this song. Let's not forget the bass. He is RIPPING THE BASS UP in this song.
  23. QUOTE (Flying Finn @ Jun 10 2012, 07:29 AM) Well 2112 is like 10th best Rush album imo. It suffers from so called Tarkus syndrome which means great A-side and lackclustering B-side. I do like A Passage to Bangkok though. Completely agree. While I love 2112 and if it weren't for the album...There honestly wouldn't be anymore Rush right now. But I actually really love listening to this WHOLE 66 minute album (CA) rather than just loving the song, 2112, and then kind of skipping over the B-side other than Passage to Bangkok and Tears.
  24. QUOTE (boz @ Jun 10 2012, 12:57 AM) witch hunt is one of there great songs,I never get sick of listening to it Yes! This is why I love this forum.
