  1. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 13 2012, 09:02 AM) i'd like to hear neil comment on each of the songs lyrics and what they mean but i guess he saves that for the tour book. One can only hope. I'd love to hear his whole theory on the whole background/meaning of the words he's written. Except the Garden....I think Ged wrote that!

I have the fanpack one...which has the triangle design on it. And it's not in a sleeve like the Fan Pack is! I hate sleeves... Yeah, but that one looks like an actual digipak, which I hate. The fanpack had the hard cover, which is a million times better IMO! Agree and exactly why I splurged yesterday and bought the fan pack after the fact. I can't believe I'm actually considering going to purchase another one of these "regular" versions...just to have the different disc and booklet. No-one can tell me I don't spend money on the boys! I wanted to get the vinyl...But I was too late.
  3. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 13 2012, 09:24 AM) QUOTE (ShlappinDahBass @ Jun 13 2012, 10:21 AM) Well, let's set the tide on what should be a "radio-type" single! .....We attack at dusk, brothers.

Have any of you seen Dexter, The Walking Dead, or Breaking Bad? Fantastic shows. All of them have their own threads in this section, unless you're too lazy too look for them. Now to get back on topic I feel I should let you know that there's always money in the banana stand Hahah. True. Buster will always be my favorite character. He is so flippin' funny. My favorite scene, still, is recording himself dancing with the maniquin (sp?) then going off into a Star Wars lightsaber match against it. Don't forget he also studied Cartography, the mapping of uncharted territories. The reason that's funny is because I had never heard of that before the show. This show. Just gets better and better with every quote/fact spoken about it. Tobias - A marker....A MAGIC marker!
  6. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Jun 13 2012, 09:14 AM) I received my fan pack last Thursday. Same. We got our fan packs pretty early.
  7. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 13 2012, 09:10 AM) QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jun 13 2012, 07:42 AM) I suspect it will be, given it's mentioned on the CD packaging after Headlong Flight, the latest single. I'd bet on it. ^THIS The Wreckers is the most obvious choice for a "single". There are tons of amazing songs...but as far as a single goes, The Wreckers is really the only option IMO. The Anarchist would be pretty cool choice as well, IMO. The Wreckers, The Garden and The Anarchist are my favorite songs that aren't singles right now.
  8. What a champ! I love Geddy! Will always be my idol for humor and bass.
  9. QUOTE (presto123 @ Jun 13 2012, 12:23 AM) It's really a shame rock singles don't mean anything nowdays. I think both Garden and Wreckers would have possible top 10 chart potential. What was Rush's highest chart? I think it was New World Man at #24 if memory serves me right. I'm surprised, Tom Sawyer wasn't like...#1 or 2?

  11. QUOTE (gudbuytjane @ Jun 13 2012, 08:06 AM) You're all very welcome! Also, if you haven't seen it before, they were guests on Q in 2009, just after the documentary came out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt1YBFmsXSs I love how Jian Ghomeshi is clearly a Rush fan, talking about playing Rush songs with his band in garages as a teen. -Jane I love their interviews on the Q! Ged has so much humor.
  12. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Jun 13 2012, 04:37 AM) I am still absorbing it. On the 2nd listen my view changed. On the 3rd listen, it changed even more. I am still trying to figure it out. Wowzah! That's crazy. Such a deep album.
  13. I personally think NatSci is probably the best. Mainly because it was the last new Rush song I heard before Clockwork Angels came out. What an epic finale of a song to listen to after hearing the other 18 albums.

  15. QUOTE (GeddyLeeFender @ Jun 12 2012, 04:11 PM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 12 2012, 03:47 PM) What the "heck" is Metacritic and why would anyone care if they "score" Clockwork Angels or not? Metacritic is awesome. It averages reliable critics on a score out of 100. Metacritic has snakes and arrows and vapor trails, it blows my mind that they dont have CA. With time im sure it will. There you go...And them having VT and S&A. That's what is baffling to me.
  16. QUOTE (Gedneil Alpeart @ Jun 12 2012, 05:04 PM) Rush made an album of space and silence and wants us to imagine the songs. This....this post is a win.
  17. QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 12 2012, 10:06 AM) QUOTE (Unobtrusive Companion @ Jun 12 2012, 10:03 AM) Great interview. I keep wondering who's speaking when Alex is, he seems to be losing his voice Yeah sounds like he's getting over a cold. Haha, good ol' Alex. The Garden being played at the end was a nice emotional touch as well. Of course right after them talking about ever quitting...Gah.
  18. Just a guess, probably some kids that were visiting while he was doing the thanks. So, maybe they were messing around.
  19. I can't get the chorus from the Garden out of my head. That song has been permanently drilled into my brain.

Everyone, BUY THE ALBUM AGAIN off of iTunes! Why? #1 on iTunes for an extended amount of time? There yah go! That's the enthusiasm I was looking for!
  21. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Jun 12 2012, 10:05 AM) It will go aluminum Myrrh.
  22. If it got platinum. I bet it would be such a massive boost to morale. But, that is a long shot.

  24. That'd be awesome if they got all 3 members have a cameo instead of just Alex!
