  5. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jun 26 2012, 08:04 PM) QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 26 2012, 11:54 AM) QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jun 26 2012, 08:47 AM) If I have a shirt of the band i'm going to see, I will wear it to the show. When the hell else am I gonna wear my new Iron Maiden shirt? When I go to visit my grandma? Out in public? I guess, but I just don't do that too much with band shirts anymore. That's why for me at concerts are the best time to wear them. Back in my teens and into my early 20s I used to wear band shirts everyday, but I haven't done that in almost a decade now. One of the main reasons for that is because I just don't buy band shirts like I used to because they're so damn expensive now. When I first started going to concerts 20 years ago, shirts were like $15 each, $20 at the most. Now at most shows shirts go in the $35-$45 dollar range, sometimes it's more than the ticket price and that's f*ckin rediculous. Why am I gonna pay more for a shirt than what I pay for the concert? It makes no damn sense and they're completely ripping peple off by charging that much now. If I really like the band I may buy a shirt online but it's rare now that i'll buy a shirt at a concert anymore. Yeah, I only buy a shirt at a show if it's a heavy hitter like Maiden or Rush.
  6. QUOTE (Nate2112 @ Jun 26 2012, 01:15 PM) Listening to "Faustian Echoes" now, I love it but It doesn't sound like Agalloch at ALL. Sign of a great band is constant evolution! I love the new EP.
  7. I don't dig it. Can we make this a thread for the thrash group? FORBIDDEN EVIL and TWISTED INTO FORM
  8. i wish i could meet a hot ass chick who's seriously into rush i mean, everyone knows tom sawyer and all, but i want a babe who strips to superconductor

  10. QUOTE (PolarizeMe @ Jun 25 2012, 09:04 PM) QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 25 2012, 11:26 AM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 25 2012, 10:22 AM) I saw the SIT tour and i thought he sang great. It was hard for him to sing the title track because he used to run around like a loon and did not have the proper time to catch his breath. Shame they won't be playing it agian , i love that song Seriously, they could modernize it a bit or change a bit of it to their liking or shorten it or something...it's one of my favorite Maiden tunes They played Moonchild without the playback intro they used during the 7th Son tour/Maiden England tour on the the SBIT tour, so yeah I see where you're coming from with the whole retooling songs to fit their liking. If Bruce struggled singing CSIT, then there's no way in hell he could sing Sea of Madness. The band's been on record by saying Alexander The Great is the best song ever that they've yet to play live, but according to 'Arry, Adrian doesn't remember the solo. I have a feeling that outside of Wasted Years and Heaven Can Wait, Maiden doesn't really like SIT that much, or at least they think every other song won't work live anymore. Not sure how anyone can dislike SIT, it kicks ass
  11. QUOTE (An Enemy Without @ Jun 25 2012, 07:29 PM) QUOTE (Tony R @ Jun 25 2012, 04:02 PM) Anyone who thinks ADKOT is a good Van Halen album is deluding themselves. It's like clapping when your grandad sings one of his old army songs, you clap because you love him not because he is good. Yes. Tattoo is embarrassingly bad, and ADKOT can't even compare to CA. (It's like Van Halen's Superconductor) Superconductor kicks ass!
  12. QUOTE (Ovningskora @ Jun 25 2012, 05:06 PM) I wore a Rush shirt of AFTK to the first Rush concert I went to... Since then I really don't care for band shirts. I've considered getting rid of the three them I have too since they're black, a bit tight, and uncomfortable. I think I'm the kind of person that wears a shirt of the band that's playing though. A bit unrelated, but I noticed that Iron Maiden shirts trendy among teens. Got to feel remorse for all the actual fans. I've got 9 Maiden shirts, and it's very shitty when I ask someone I see with a Maiden shirt what their favorite album is and they can't tell me an Iron Maiden album.
  13. QUOTE (CantStopThinkingBig @ Jun 24 2012, 12:03 PM) Wasn't Rush accused in the early 80s of being a right-wing band? In the late 70's yeah, Neil sparred with a British journalist.

    Test For Echo

actually I hate to say it, but a lot of Rush's albums from around GUP to TFE can be found in bargain bins Sometimes if you're in a more "hip" record store, any Rush album will be in the bargain bin, with the $100 autographed Pavement album above it.
  15. QUOTE (librarian @ Jun 24 2012, 06:59 PM) Never saw it. Never will Why would you willingly miss out on a great movie? The rape scene won't turn you gay, I promise.

  17. QUOTE (umoveme @ Jun 25 2012, 03:49 PM) Wow. I must be a dorkus. I always wear a Rush shirt when I see them. Who knew so much thought went into choosing a graphic T. I'm obsessed with band t-shirts, sorry
  18. I was into KISS and Motley Crue in elementary school, and from that period in my life I still enjoy and listen to Beatles, Zep, Sabbath, Maiden, etc. So I don't just like something for a year and give up...
  19. It's not so much growing out of as it is losing interest Rush have constantly evolved over their career and have continued to be interesting. Personally, I don't feel Motley Crue or KISS have done the same - the last KISS record I enjoy is Love Gun (or Alive II, one of my favorite albums ever, if their "live" albums count), and I don't like a full Motley Crue record after Shout at the Devil. Seeing them live would still be cool though, cause it's not like they're gonna play anything off of Asylum or Generation Swine or any of their many shitty records...
