  1. Clockworker Angels is the pinnacle of sonic brilliance for this band. I can't believe people are overtly critical of this effort in terms of sound quality and production. Listening through headphones I was b lown away.
  2. Would Werner Herzog's Nosferatu qualify as horror. I really enjoyed the movie, wasn't scary and only had one drop of blood. There is a heavy sense of forboding though, visuals were fantastic!
  3. The song is about wrecking a ship on the shore where pirates are waitin' for ya...the guitar evokes almost a sprightly feeling at beginning...doesn't coincide with seriousness of subject matter. Chorus sounds hopeless.
  4. The production is unquestionably beautiful and full of surprises. It offers everything a RUSH fan would want in a new record...it draws from the past and forges into the future. Like all the epic music that came before it, every song is fantastic and gets better every time you listen. There is not a dull moment on this record. RUSH is at the peek of their creative powers and used a producer who got the absolute best out of them!!! RUSH has not seen better days!!!
  5. Who cares if their gay or bi-sexual...what people do in their bedrooms is their freakin' business. I lived in the middle-east for sometime and it was not unusual for men to be seen holding hands while talking---word for the day--interdigitating...or arm in arm walking down the street. It was a weird to witness it but to that culture it means something different than how we interpret it. Brings a whole new dimension to brotherly love!!!

So many more layers and the only proper word that I can think of is "sprightly" Edit: And of course it's great to hear with all of the new songs to go along with them and "tie the room together" if you will. . . http://cityrag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/where-the-hell-are-we.jpg ??? It's probably a picture of him dressed as Captain Beatty from Fahrenheit 451, burning a pile of Vapor Trails CDs. Goobs is obsessed with the works of Ray Bradbury. I think Ray's death has sent him over the edge! Pourin' one out for Mr. B Obviously you guys have never seen The Big Lebowski. Oh well... Are you a little "urban" achiever?
  13. QUOTE (LyndseyG @ May 31 2012, 12:12 PM) I couldn't believe my ears when I heard HF for the first time. I was blown away. geddy's voice has not seen a more powerful and elegant setting. He is still kicking ass!!!
  14. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Feb 13 2012, 06:53 PM) QUOTE (Mara @ Feb 13 2012, 05:22 PM) My husband's definition is "I wore it for a half-hour." My wife is like that about most of her clothes and *all* of the kids' clothes. My 3-year-old can wear a pair of pants for an hour, and it might have the tiniest little smudge of whatever on it, and it *must* be washed as soon as he takes them off. My 6-year-old, same thing - my wife insists that all the clothes be washed ASAP. yeah what is that all about? My wife is the same way. I think it's an illness of some type!!!
  15. read USA Todays review...it is a farce. You can tell that they really didn't even listen to it.
  16. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Jun 11 2012, 03:10 PM) Watching your son pitching in his baseball game is so much more important than possibly meeting Alex and Geddy at the Q&A. I applaud your decision...a great Rush fan with a great sense of priority. ~Cheers, RGLT Amen!
  17. QUOTE (ShlappinDahBass @ Jun 11 2012, 02:43 PM) I just dropped 50 IQ points from just reading his grammar. yeah but he helped neil a lot!
  18. How close will this be to the "real" review that will come out soon? Anyone placing bets?
  19. Not that they'd give Rush their fair share of news anyway I agree...did you read the review they gave ClockWork Angels? No, uh oh. . . got a link?! Yeah it's in the rush forum. there's a post there near the bottom I put up...enjoy!
  20. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 11 2012, 11:20 AM) QUOTE (Everyday Glory @ Jun 10 2012, 10:25 AM) I was at CVS and looking over the magazine section, Rolling Stone had on the cover the summer of concert tours, listing every band this summer except RUSH What gives Rolling Stone? Not that they'd give Rush their fair share of news anyway I agree...did you read the review they gave ClockWork Angels?
  21. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jun 8 2012, 04:56 PM) QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jun 8 2012, 06:04 AM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jun 7 2012, 07:26 PM) PLEASE read my article on Popol Vuh I had published online a couple of years ago - it goes comprehensively into each album: The Transcendental Music of Popol Vuh Thanks for the link...I really enjoyed it! Been thinking about it...why don't you put this information on Wikipedia. I think it would be an excellent addition to whatever they have up there now. Personally, I felt the article was bursting with information and wonderfully detailed. have you heard werner discuss his relationship with the artists? On the commentary tracks for the applicable movies you'll find them...if you didn't already know! once again good stuff
  22. QUOTE (An Enemy Without @ Jun 8 2012, 08:50 AM) That was good, especially the last part. "Penis weasel" Man i'm glad you liked it...the people who haven't have really let me know!
  23. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jun 7 2012, 07:39 PM) Aguirre, the Wrath of God The monkeys!!!! The scene after the monkeys as he is going down the river and the camera circles...popol vuh playing...mesmerising, hypnotic
