QUOTE (Rush-O-Matic @ May 24 2012, 07:23 AM) QUOTE (Alexmai @ May 24 2012, 06:12 AM) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007I2BZI...?ie=UTF8&n=5174 Is it worth another $30 to have it 2 weeks early? It'll take that long to ship it.
  2. QUOTE (shabadoo25 @ May 25 2012, 01:49 PM) Tampa has 3k tickets for sale in the back sections. No lawn for sale with so many of these left available. Maybe Rush's touring has hit the saturation point... How do you know how many tickets are still left?
  3. Opps, I guess it was Darn That Dragon. See what happens when you get old. Darn That Dragon
  4. QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 24 2012, 05:27 PM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 24 2012, 01:37 PM) I can take them or leave them, but the only one that's really made me LOL was the South Park one. Even now, the "riding on a raft with a black guy!" line and the "I'm Geddy Lee and I'll sing whatever I want!" lines make me chuckle. I don't know the Outtake with the "Real Fans" from I love you man was pretty funny! The South Park Intro has been the best intro so far through! I also liked the asian sounding intro to Distant Early Warning on the GUP Tour! The Ones with Jerry Stiller were funny as well! Not so long! I wish they make more like those! South Park was Okay. But That Darn Dragon... come on! It was classic!
  5. QUOTE (metaldad @ May 24 2012, 11:43 AM) QUOTE (Gompers @ May 23 2012, 06:20 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ May 23 2012, 04:09 PM) They will have Unfunny videos before, during and after the show What!?! You are kidding me. Your going to tell me you thought the vid's they had for the R30 and S&A tours were funny ? I take it you didn't like the videos. You'd be in the minority, at least at the shows I went to. But nothing tops That Darn Dragon.
  6. QUOTE (burgeranacoke @ May 24 2012, 08:40 PM)Point one.. The album is 66.6 minutes long. can you find more! I cannot wait to play it backwards! My buds and I had a few beers one night and started talking about Led Zep IV and 'if you listen very hard' blah, blah... So, we go upstairs, put it on my turntable and try it out. The first few times, it sounded like garbled nothing, then I must have gotten it just right because we heard something that made us all react, screaming, spinning our heads, making crosses with our fingers... we were all a bunch Monty Python loving kids and we didn't really think that much of it, but we just liked overacting and trying to crack each other up. But it was like a scene out of a cheesy horror flick--the first few tries, nothing, then BAM! It was this creepy deep voice and we went crazy--woke up my folks. Drunk high schoolers....
  7. I hope Clockwork Angels is great and I hope they finish their career with class--on a high note. And for god sakes, 5 years after the last show, don't release a Coda. No one wants to hear the outtakes and songs that never worked.
  8. I'm predicting HYF will not be featured this tour. S&A - The Mission TM - Time Stands Still There's other corners of the vault they need to tap.
  9. QUOTE (Joesaracer @ May 21 2012, 02:50 PM) The ticket prices skyrocketed from last tour to this upcoming tour. One guess is that there might be extra musicians to pay. Who knows? Could be anything. Fuel prices.
  10. QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 2 2012, 08:32 PM) I had to go with Losing It, Since its my favorite RUSH song and they've never played it live. This might be the only chance, if they are touring with a String Section. I went and listened to it -- you're right, that is a Gem. Maybe I shouldn't be so negative about the 'Never-played-live' stuff.

Every other song has been shelved at least once. There's NO reason any of those songs can't be shelved again. None. Source. Re: The 'Source'. I like that particular site for looking back seeing what Rush did in the past. But just today, a memory was jogged - and I looked back at the Signals Tour Setlist. I'm sorry, but it has some inaccuracies. Limelight was the closer. They didn't play La Villa. And the YYZ drum solo was before the encore. So, that begs the question, are there other inaccuracies in the set lists? I would imagine that the set lists from 2002 on are pretty accurate. And with all the bootlegs out there, I guess we could confirm. Where are you getting your information? About the Signals show? I was there. I remember that Rush concert better than most because I was not old enough to drink. La Villa was a song I fell in love with the previous summer, and I remember being disappointed they didn't play it. They played In The Mood last as they did on the first 3 tours I went to. Limelight was part of the encore (may have been a second encore). I remember making our way toward the door during Limelight because my mom was picking us up on Manchester Blvd. And the YYZ drum solo was definitely before the encore. With all due respect, and I'm not saying you're wrong - that was 30 years ago. I would say, at this point, if there's a question about the setlist that's posted over there, bootlegs should be examined (like you mentioned). Again, I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying... reputable website vs. 30 year old memory (from a then-teenager)... it warrants further investigation I think you're right. I just looked up several bootlegs, they have the setlist on the back cover, and it appears that I'm misremembering things. It looks like, from the times listed on one of the bootlegs, that Xanadu and La Villa were very abbreviated. Maybe I was bummed they didn't play all of La Villa. I'd like to figure out how to check out those bootlegs when I have more time. Apologies for the misremembering. I know for sure we had lousy seats and their were some biker dudes smoking pot near us.

Limelight was not the closer (at my show anyway). It wasn't even in the encore. They played both La Villa and In The Mood in the encore, if I remember correctly. Re: La Villa. You could be right, but I totally remember being bummed they didn't play either La Villa or Xanadu.

  14. None. It sounds like CA is old school RUSH, let's save the keyboardy stuff for R40.

QUOTE (Joesaracer @ May 24 2012, 11:05 AM) http://www.bravewords.com/news/184118 Glowing. Wish Them Well is gonna be divisive, I tell ya! The takeaway for me that each song stands alone. Meaning we won't have to have 5 song trek on the upcoming setlist. These can be sprinkled in as needed. And perhaps leave some for the R40 Tour.
  16. Touring with an orchestra is expensive. Besides, I got the impression the new song just had a cello or a small string section.

  18. QUOTE (richellis1974 @ May 23 2012, 03:09 PM) Hi guys/girls!!! LONGTIME rush fan!!! NEWBIE to forum!!! is it me or did Pearts playing PEAK on Hemispheres???? and seemingly NEVER quite hit those heights on ANY album since??? Also has anyone else seen him sitting in with Buddy Richs band in 1991??? Truly abysmal!!!!!! I AM A HUGE FAN OF THE MAN but do wonder what has gone on........ I guess you're not a drummer...
  19. Some fans will never be happy no matter how much money and time RUSH puts into creating a unique rock show experience.

  21. In the Mood Working Man Finding My Way One of those 3 should be part of any Rush encore. My perfect encore would be R30 By-Tor Xanadu Working Man
  22. QUOTE (USB Connector @ May 23 2012, 12:05 PM) We've known the track list and it's quite clear that the CA story will take up most, if not the entire album length. The news has been out there for some time but initial reactions can be changed with time. Personally, I'm glad that Rush are taking this chance. They really haven't tried anything this massive since Hemispheres or 2112. I think it's great because while Rush have made some great songs since their hiatus, I they haven't made albums that really compare to Moving Pictures in quite some time. Clockwork Angels might not turn out to be such a great album, but if they can pull it off and make the album as great as it can be, then we might be left with songs that might be considered classics in the future. Sure, Far Cry might go on to be a classic but that's only one song on one album out of at least 3 albums (since Test for Echo). My point is, whether it flops or not, I'm really happy that we have an indication that Rush is still trying to produce great albums rather than making one just to tour and make money. Who knows, maybe we'll be left with an album that we really can compare with the best. I'm not a trekkie or a comic book reader, but I always enjoy a good sci-fi thread. Great sci-fi has social and political commentary. Great sci-fi is filled with allegory and metaphors for contemporary events. It's sounds like in the CA story, NP is writing about himself and his journey.
  23. QUOTE (Gedneil Alpeart @ May 21 2012, 05:32 PM) Subdivisions, Analogue Kid, Digital Man, The Weapon.... Listened to this 4 headed monster today and it ate me up and spit me out.. ....man....the musical power and awesomeness of these 4 tracks blows my mind..... The middle sections of AG, DM, and TW in particular are some of Rush's most finest and most powerful musical mid sections of any song.....the atmosphere....the playing....the intensity......simply sosring......Alex's guitar solos in these tracks are phenomenal!!! He may have started to take a back seat to the keys overall starting with this album, yet he sure shines brilliantly with these solos. I BOW to these tracks!!!! Agreed, it's time for the Kid to show up.
