A poster over at RIAB says that a lighting director said there are SIX different set lists comprising a total of 37 songs. I'm excited...and terrified....

I assume none of those amps onstage were plugged in, right? It was just for show...? They are still using their speaker emulators?

To me, this trailer brings back the epicness of the Exit Stage Left video. The voice overs, the boyz walking to the stage, the style, etc.

It's been said many times before (in just the last couple of days...heh), but this remix is a glorious revelation! Expectations wildly exceeded....it does indeed sound like a new album.

I just listened to the song "Virtuality" for the first time in years. I don't understand the Wesley Crusher-level hate of this song! Sure, it has "net boy, net girl," but it also has a killer crunchy guitar riff, catchy melody, and it's filled with classic Alex textures and sonic tweaks. Also, the lyrics seem very prescient given that it was written in 1996. What's the dealio?

Anyone have a linked to a YouTube video of this that subtitles a translation of Alex's speech? (I'm sure someone's already created this!)

Curiously, "Some of the honorees are expected to attend the announcement event" according to this story. If so, wouldn't that mean that some or all inductees have already be informed? Could Rush already know that they are inducted, and could they even be enroute to L.A. as we speak to be at the announcement?

I can also confirm that Alex recorded Headlong Flight in open-E tuning. Jammit just released the isolated tracks for Headlong flight, along with super accurate tablature. You can see it clearly here:

Other than the mastering/loudness debate, this is an interesting thread. I really do think the "nostalgia factor" is enormous. There is simply nothing that Rush could record today that could compete with the nostalgia we all have for the "classic" Rush tracks - there is simply too much emotional "baggage" (in the good sense), attached to the classic tracks. There is a "magic" attached to the classic tracks that is a function of 1) the age of the tracks, and 2) the age of us, the audience, when we first heard those tracks. Even to rabid fans like ourselves, music is just not as big a part of our life now, compared to when we were 16. That doesn't mean that CA is not one of Rush's best albums ever (I believe it is). Can't wait to see most of this amazing record played live!
