  1. Do you have a beer in the house? Unfortunately, I'm 19 and living (for the next three weeks) on my dry campus. I'd rather not take the chance. However, I have already planned a trip to a cigar bar tonight with a few friends if they do in fact clinch.
  2. The Dallas Stars can clinch with a win tomorrow night. Not entirely sure how to handle this.
  3. Nathan Horton, despite not playing in the game tonight, was one of the scores on the goal sheet for Columbus. He made NHL history by doing so. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/10759176/nathan-horton-columbus-blue-jackets-gets-goal-playing-game I told my dad this, he decides to put it on the AP wire, and it actually got used quite a bit. I'm a hero.
  4. If this happens, I'll quit. I do miss the classic playoff matchups in the mid-2000s between the two teams, though. Despite my really young age, I kinda comprehended what was going on. For example, Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg scared the shit out of me. I also hated Richard Matvichuk. Those two years where the Avs got the best of the Stars in the playoffs were disappointing. Good stuff, though. I prefer the Blues over the Avs. Colorado is too darn quick for the mediocre Dallas blue line. They've either played agonizingly close games or gotten beat handily by the Avs this year. They've been much more competitive with St. Louis. Big win for the Stars last night. Phoenix is starting to falter. Woulda preferred OEL not score with 14 seconds left, but oh well :P In the position that Dallas is in, getting the two points was the only goal -- doesn't matter if they're gotten in regulation or in a shootout. You guys doesn't have to worry about the ROW column or other tiebreakers. If you and Phoenix end up tied in points before that last game, you'll have more wins than them. It's your playoff spot to lose. Weird, weird game vs. Columbus tonight. Though the NHL is a score first, win first kinda league, being down 1-0 before the puck even dropped wasn't a huge deal. But then they gave up a goal in the first two minutes, and the game changed completely.. Gave up another in the first at the tail-end and that was basically the game. Lumbus just outskated the Stars. Probably the sloppiest they've been all year was tonight in the first period. Oh well. One win, one regulation loss for PHX, and they're in. This is the closest they've been since 2011 (when they dropped that win-and-you're-in game in Minnesota on the final day), and it's nerve-racking as hell.
  5. They've got both a sneaky good lineup and a sneaky good rotation. Would not be surprised to see them contend for a playoff spot.

  8. Hey, I just saw this. Thanks, pals. :')

  10. This hurts my heart. I love Matt Moore. Loved him ever since I saw him shut the Rangers down in the first game of the 2011 ALCS. He's a machine.
  11. Corey Hart's first HR: http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww13/VeNoM_rT/ScreenShot2014-04-09at122438AM.png Corey Hart's second HR: http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww13/VeNoM_rT/ScreenShot2014-04-09at124235AM.png You'd like Angels pitching would've learned its lesson: DON'T GIVE THE GUY BELT-HIGH FASTBALLS.
  12. Any surprise there? Got through what? Half an inning?
  13. Hector Noesi sucks. He's not a good pitcher. No surprise that CoCo Crisp's first career walk-off homers comes off of him. Oh well, 3-1 isn't a bad start to the young season. :) Maybe they'll push it to 5-2 or even 6-1 this weekend. Exciting.
  14. The NFL is a snooze-fest anyways. I'd be glad if it was irrelevant in ten years. I don't think it will be, though. Cuban just hadn't run his mouth in a few months and felt the need to say something noteworthy. With that being said, I love Mark Cuban.
  15. Gregg Zaun? DING! I'm pretty sure it was Limelight.
  16. Trivia: A former MLB player (fairly well-known, too) used a Rush song as his walkup song for quite some time. Who was the player, and what was the song? (I voted, by the way. Twice.)
  17. I just got my ticket for Friday morning in San Antonio. It's going to be a hell of a trip. Lincoln to San Antone in 24 hours.
  18. You're very lucky. I love my Mariners. ;) In all honestly, they're sure going to be a hell of a lot more exciting than they have been in the last ten or so years. The team might actually hit some home runs. If the injuries to the rotation continue, it's going to be a significant issue. But the lineup is going to be solid. Cano, Morrison, Hart (lol). Good additions. :hi: Are you from Seattle or just an M's fan? I love Safeco field. (Although, it's the only one I've ever been too.) There are not many things better than being at a game on a nice summer day. I have to add stuffing my face with a giant mustard-drenched pretzel and having a beer to the above food list. Mmmm, stadium food. The boys gorge themselves on bottomless popcorn and orange pop. Safeco is one of the best. I've been a handful of times. I'm just an M's fan, because I used to spend a majority of my summers up there... back when they were one of the league's best. I've been a fan ever since. I'm very excited about the upcoming season.
  19. mine is based on a Fountain of Syrinx located somewhere in Greenland, i think? no real relation. traveled there as a kid. place was riveting. haven't looked back since.
  20. i think he SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! i can't BELIEVE that anyone would pay HARD EARNED AMERICAN MONEY to go see this SHIT SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i saw them THREE TIMES on the CA tour and they SUCKED EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kid. He sounds great. I'm just glad it seems like they tailor the sets for his voice. It sounds better overall, and we all get to nerd hardcore on the 80s. I'd put money on a heavy Presto/HYF (HYF especially) influence on the upcoming tour. I'd kill to hear Prime Mover like seven times a night.
  21. We've pretty much decided to pass. I like the Mazdas a lot, but it's too much of a risk.
  22. So that's really something to avoid? Would taking it to our mechanic help at all? I am no car expert but taking a used car to a mechanic is always preferable prior to buying. At 41,000 miles the engine in theory is barely broken in so that is good. I would still want a pro to go through it due to its status. Also I would check with my DMV regarding the rebuilt title to make sure that doesn't cause you any problems now or later... Will do. Thanks for the advice. It's only two years old and pretty darn cheap, obviously because of the fire issue. Maybe it's something kind of like hail damage, where the price is driven down because of what happened, and the actual car is fine. I'll look a little more into it. It's hard to get information of the car without paying for a Carfax. But if it's something I want to pursue, it needs to be done. We've got a deal to sell my 2003 Suburban for $6,000. It's a great car, but it isn't fuel efficient and isn't practical for me living off-campus next year and ten hours from home. Something around 25 MPG would be perfect. If we could get the deal for $8500 or something like that, hopefully we could get a good warranty and keep the overall cost around $10,000 - or only $4,000 out of pocket (based on what we've got now).

  25. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tab=summary&recnum=&actLog=&listingId=600709323&paId=&listingRecNum=5&criteria=feedSegId%3d28705%26rpp%3d50%26isDealerGrouping%3dfalse%26sf2Nm%3dmiles%26requestorTrackingInfo%3dRTB_SEARCH%26sf1Nm%3dprice%26sf2Dir%3dASC%26stkTypId%3d28881%26PMmt%3d1-1-0%26rn%3d0%26zc%3d76118%26rd%3d30%26crSrtFlds%3dstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-pseudoPrice%26mdId%3d21446%26stkTyp%3dU%26mkId%3d20073%26prMn%3d0%26sf1Dir%3dDESC%26prMx%3d10000&tracktype=usedcc&pageNumber=&numResultsPerPage=&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE&certifiedOnly=false& Christ, that's a long link. Anyways, I'm going to get a new car next week. I really like the Mazda3's, and feel like it'd be perfect to last me through college and then some. They get really solid mileage, and they look really slick. I came across this one last night, and aside from the headlight fire, I feel like it's fairly solid. My concern is that there's something severely wrong with it. Would y'all (car people) even consider looking into this? Or should I find something that doesn't seem as sketchy. Thanks, folks!
