  1. I was like 3, and my dad played "What You're Doing" on the radio and I was hooked.. No clue who the band was, because I was so little. But I listened to that song for like 2 years straight whenever I was in the car. Finally, when I was 5 or 6, I had this little stereo deal, and I played through the whole album and it was all downhill from there.
  2. As much as I love the band and the song, I feel like it would be really difficult to pull off.
  3. Do live versions count? I listened to Two Step by DMB from Central Park.. Best live version of any song ever.
  4. DMB at 25.. Love to see my second fave up there. The Music Radar poll from a couple years back is all you need to know, Rush as the #1 Live Act touring today. I believe that to be true.
  5. Hi! I'm from Fort Worth. Advice: Hot. Really hot. But, pleasant or cold in the winter.. Most Texans are really nice people. However, some are not.. And the select few who are not are really, really angry people. The radio stations suck. All anyone cares about is the Cowboys. That's pretty much it.. I'm actually moving away in 4 weeks for college.. Far away. But, I've lived here my whole life, so I have a good idea of what it is like.
  6. Dave Matthews Band has soared to one of my favorites, and Dave has had a significant influence on my own playing and singing as of late.. Saw this earlier today and thought how f***ing cool it must have been to be them.
  7. The thing that nobody understands about Alex is that his mic is there only to back up Ged's vocals.. So you rarely hear Alex because of the way it is set up..
  8. Good news at my post-op yesterday.. I'm coming along. Pain still in the knee though.. Can't really raise it up at all. But, my first PT appointment is scheduled for tomorrow. Holding out hope for a hot physical therapist.. Whoops. ;)
  9. It'd be cool if they refunded everyone who bought tickets, and gave them some sort of priority ticket, and proceeded to play a free outdoor show somewhere near Calgary to help everyone affected by the flood. The people with priority ticketing would have access to better seating..
  10. So sorry about your mom's passing. I know what you mean about the album meaning so much to you. As I've listened to it since my father's death it comforts me in a way, don't know how to describe it. Take care FountainofSyrinx, frippy Thanks for the kind words. I hope you're holding up okay. It doesn't matter how you cope, as long as you cope. Hang in there friend!
  11. Well, I think the main issue is that my whole leg from thigh to ankle is really swollen and painful. When I first tore it, there was no swelling or anything so it never was that painful. But the front side of the kneecap can be really really painful when I'm crunching around and like my shin is really painful. Is this because of the fluids in the knee?
  12. So, this is probably the most miserable week in my entire life solely based on the fact that this is the worst pain I've ever endured and I feel like I haven't done a damn thing with myself over the past 6 days.
  13. Damn, that's rough. But at least you kind of know what's wrong. But being passionate about running and not being able to run is not good. At all.
  14. Duck loves threads about knees Miss ya treeduck :hi:
  15. Thanks man. And anything with the feet does not sound bueno at all. Here's me wishing you all the luck. Doctors can't do much?
  16. You mean you didn't pay extra and get the real bionics? ;) ;) But seriously, I'm glad it went well. I still have nightmares about my knee surgery from long ago (when doctors didn't know squat about knee surgery)..... :o I'm in a bit of pain, but nothing too substantial. I think they did a good job, and I've got good people taking care of me afterwards so I'm in good hands.
  17. Well, I had my surgery yesterday. Everything went well. I'm now bed ridden for a couple of days, but the doc said I should be able to get around without crutches within a week, and lose the brace that makes my leg look bionic within a few weeks. :)
  18. Sorry if this has been discussed, but I have not seen such a thread recently. So, I've been listening to a ton of Dave Matthews Band lately, and i'm really fond of the idea that their setlists are completely random from night to night, and you have no clue what you are going to get when you arrive at the venue. Now, this would be interesting for the fans who complain about a the setlist over and over again. Think about it: you may get Working Man, Tom Sawyer, TSOR, or you might not get any of those, and you may get a set loaded with obscure tunes from a variety of eras. For me, this would be aweeeesome. But I know that it won't happen. The poll is simply asking if you are fond of the idea. So, discuss! Would you rather have the same set every show, or would you be happy if they explored totally random setlists from night to night?
