Track List: CA Suite: Caravan BU2B 3rd Song of CA Suite (Like Working them Angels) 4th Song of CA Suite ( Instrumental) 5th Song of CA Suite (Like Faithless ) 6th Song of CA Suite (Epic Song) Unrelated to CA Suite: 7thSong (Like Far Cry) 8th Song (Like Armord and Sword) 9th Song (A smaller Instrumental like MalNar) 10th Song (Another Epic with Acoustic Beginning) 11th Song (Like The Way the Wind Blows) 12th Song (Acoustic Piece by Alex Like Hope) 13th song (Another Epic with A huge jam in the Middle) What are your thoughts? Last I heard, they were going for less songs, longer lengths. I believe they mentioned there were around 8 songs. So basically , you're saying to keep the two Unrelated Epics and the first 6 songs? Or like below: Caravan BU2B 3rd Song of CA Suite (Like Working them Angels) 4th Song of CA Suite ( Epic Instrumental like La Villa) 5th Song of CA Suite (Like Faithless but longer ) 6th Song of CA Suite (1st Epic Song) Unrelated to suite: 7th Song (Another Epic with Acoustic Beginning) 8th song (Another Epic with A huge jam in the Middle) I don't know. Just going by what I last read in an interview.

  4. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Feb 21 2012, 01:15 PM) The tour that will follow will likely be Neil peart doing some book tours and touring with his family while Alex and Geddy continue to write and record and tour under another name. Yep, i believe we're about to see Neil and Rush as a group's last tour Why? I mean it could be complete smoke and mirrors, but with a recent interview by Geddy, he said that Neil had more fun on the TM tour than any other tour before. The band is playing better than they ever have, and Neil also agreed that as long as he still has the skills to play, he should be out there putting them to use. (I forget who mentioned that. It was a friend of his. I'm sure other people will know what I'm talking about.) Or maybe I'm being too optimistic? Honestly though, I doubt Clockwork Angels will be their last tour.
  5. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Feb 20 2012, 07:18 PM) If Rush ever goes out with an orchestra, it will be the first (and hopefully only) time that I would stay home. I hate the way rock and metal bands are merging with orchestras. It's pure garbage and I won't pay a dime for it. I'd still go, but what's special about Rush is that it's just them 3 up there performing. I think having an orchestra behind them would kinda mess with that special magic in their music as being a power trio.

  7. QUOTE (Perchance to Dream @ Feb 13 2012, 06:49 PM) QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Feb 13 2012, 01:28 PM) Forgive me, but could someone point me to a good example of a Rush song that features Alex playing arpeggios? I probably would realize it instantly, but still. Broone's Bane is an arpeggio smorgasbord. Thank you very much! Yeah, I really love that. Now I know exactly what it is in other songs. Thanks again!
  8. Really? I thought he was better during the Time Machine tour. Seriously, he was amazing in NYC. I really wish they filmed there instead of Cleveland because Cleveland didn't represent his overall performance I think on this tour. Hell, I might just be biased since TM was my first concert seeing Rush, but I'd take TM any day over SnA.

  10. Geddy just handles the vocals better there, no shocker since it's 20 years ago. Rush plays better than they ever have live. TSS was one of the more challenging songs for Geddy's voice during the Time Machine tour. I still enjoyed the song very much when I saw them for the first time in NYC, and he was shining there compared to Cleveland.
  11. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jan 8 2012, 10:15 PM) Look the guys play for 3 hours! These songs only take uo 15 minutes! They are classic and to Newbies, these songs are essentials! They will be in the set weather you want them or not! I have heard them since signals and I've never gotten tired of them, If your tired of these songs go take a sh*t while everyone else enjoys them! Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if they played 5 songs from MP next tour! These songs are perfect and deserves their place in any setlist! Even if I don't listen to them all the time in the car or at home, I think every single song from Moving Pictures was phenomenal.
  12. Even though I saw Moving Pictures performed in it's entirety, I still would like to see Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Red Barchetta, YYZ, and Vital Signs. We all know they'll be playing Tom Sawyer till they retire, so that's set. YYZ is an excellent instrumental that really gets people pumped. Limelight is a classic, and so is Red Barchetta. Vital Signs is the only one that's mentioned because I'm being selfish. I adore that song, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that Rush have a special place for that song, at least back in the early to mid 80s. They seem to play it a lot. I would count on a few of those above, and maybe Witch Hunt if they do the Fear Series, but we'll see.
  13. I was a teenager when I began loving Rush. 21 now, so a young adult, but still. Classic rock is truly alive amongst my generation. And I know a few people who really enjoy Rush. Not to the extent I do, but there are younger fans out there, and growing every day.
  14. <---- Shame there wasn't Power Windows as a choice. It actually would have been a tight one for me. I think Power Windows is my favorite album, but my favorite song, The Enemy Within, is still number one from Grace.
  15. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Dec 30 2011, 09:10 PM) Great! But I just hope they drop and/or don't play: Closer To The Heart Tom Sawyer Limelight Dreamline The Spirit Of Radio Freewill Subdivisions Distant Early Warning Time Stand Still Count on all of those in bold. They're staples, and almost obligated to play those. Closer to the Heart they took it away, and then brought it back for TM. I think they'll keep it till they finish touring since it's a big song that casual listeners love, like my dad for an example.) Great news though! Can't wait to see them in tour again. They were amazing!
  16. Pretty crappy cartoon and I really didn't see the point of Rush's music in there. Just seemed like a Rush fan throwing in his/her favorite songs without any reason or purpose. Oh well, maybe I didn't give this a try, but I thought it was really poor.

QUOTE (English Muffin @ Dec 25 2011, 10:22 PM) QUOTE (GoToMan @ Dec 26 2011, 02:31 AM) QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Dec 25 2011, 06:54 PM) QUOTE (GoToMan @ Dec 25 2011, 06:00 PM) QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Dec 25 2011, 03:21 PM) I don't believe in the Aqua Oracle. I believe in the Aqua Buddha, though! I believe that, the Priests of Syrinx are the Establishment. The Aqua Oracle, are the 'Notes that fall gently like rain'. Interesting thing to is, you probably have not even read The Aqua Oracle. Chapter One is titled - Eveything is Happening for a Reason. You know, Yin and Yang, Cause and Effect, Action-Reaction. Aqua Budda must be the Anti-Aqua. http://www.theaquaoracle.com people like you are the reason Neil has security. Is he that insecure? I'm no expert but its probably something to do with psychos... Hey, I think you're onto something

QUOTE (HowItIs @ Dec 23 2011, 09:53 PM) QUOTE (trenken @ Dec 23 2011, 06:46 PM) There is no need to dig into this. We already know what the inspiration is, Neil's hatred for religion. BU2B says it all. He's written about this in many songs, and has decided to dedicate an album to it. You can tell from the name, Clockwork Angels. Why do some people pray for a miracle for a sick loved one just to see them die? Why do good things happen to bad people? And why do some people just get lucky? He guesses angels just come around to help when they feel like it, and let others suffer. I can rattle off many Rush songs that touch on this concept. He's been hung up on it his entire adult life it seems. He could have left it alone after Circumstances or Freewill. Sometimes shit happens, good things happen to bad people, bad things to good people. Noone is pulling anyones strings. Ok, we get it Neil. Nope, fast forward to Roll The Bones. MORE OF IT OH GODDD??!?!!!!?! And plenty of other songs in between, and now this. More religion bullshit. You can dig for other ideas if you want but its very clear whats been on his mind lately. Wrap your mind around this: CA is a story. The story is, from all I (and others) can tell is a Hero Journey. The song that frightens certain individuals so much is sang from the Protagonist's POV. Maybe "our loving Watchmaker" is a character in the story. Maybe it has nothing to do with religion but is about a dictator or ruler of a world that doesn't exist. But, by all means, jump to the conclusion that supports your hatred of someone who doesn't believe as you do. Neil has stated that the inspiration was a sci-fi book in the steampunk genre. People always jump to conclusions, but that's typical human nature.

(All while listening to Limelight) Amen!!! postscript: who else? And this has WHAT to do with Rush??? You posted this in the RUSH section of TRF - just because you had these thoughts while listening to Limelight doesn't mean anything. One time I thought about farting while listening to Tom Sawyer, but it didn't mean I could start an applicable thread about it in this particular forum. Just sayin'... A sad commentary on you, that on Christmas Day, you feel that a post recognizing the birthday of Jesus Christ, should not be allowed because it is not directly Rush related. Pathetic. Demonic. LMAO. Vulgar and vile, when Jesus Christ, the Creator of the Universe, created and is still creating the entity called, RUSH. Yet, I like it. It is the Anti-Christ Spirit, that gives distinction to the Spirit of Jesus Christ. It's nice to be on the side of the Creator of the Universe. http://www.butnotyet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/jesus-facepalm.jpg
  20. Off the top of my head: Leave That Thing Alone - Time Machine Tour (So much more energy on this one than on the album, plus the bass solo is amazing!) 2112 - Time Machine Tour (although, any tour with it tuned down is great. It's more darker and fits nicely) I know 2112 is gonna leave some people scratching their heads, but I love how they performed the song on the Time Machine Tour. It was a highlight for me.

    Fear trilogy

It's kinda funny for me. Ranking the four songs from favorite to least, it actually goes in order of the Fear Series. 1.) The Enemy Within 2.) The Weapon 3.) Witch Hunt 4.) Freeze 1.) The Enemy Within is my favorite Rush song and the song that got me into learning how to play instruments. That bass!
  22. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Dec 17 2011, 12:00 PM) QUOTE (grand phil-nale @ Dec 17 2011, 10:43 AM) Why does it really matter where they record? it will be poorly mixed by Chycki and brickwalled during the mastering process. they need to get rid of him and use someone else already..... Obviously he's doing something right for Rush to keep him.
