A few nights ago, I dreamt that I saw Geddy and Alex on the street. Geddy was giving away his tour clothing! One of the things he gave to some lucky fan was his grey blazer that he wore years ago. (Does anyone remember which tour that was?) Anyhow, I didn't get there quickly enough, so didn't get any clothing, but I did get to get Alex a big hug. He was there wearing a black leather jacket and looked like a biker. It was like hugging a big teddy bear, and he gave me one of his great smiles, but didn't say anything.

What Rush song is stuck in your head today?
On TheRoad To Adventure replied to Rush Cocky's topic in Rush
Actually I've had the entire setlist of the Time Machine Tour in my head for a week now. The Portland show is still fresh in my mind. For some reason, though, it's Territories at the moment, which wasn't even played. -

This is Rush's final tour
On TheRoad To Adventure replied to nealpert's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Well, this has been an interesting thread, so I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. Football sucks. Hockey is the best sport. Regarding Rush's touring, I think they'll hang it up after touring the Clockwork Angels album. Quietly, without fanfare. Just my feeling. -
QUOTE (liddybuck01 @ Apr 20 2011, 07:41 PM) Yeah the few friends i have my age dont get it lol at least i have my husband, but i still think im a bigger fan lol Most of my friends don't get it either. You either get Rush or you don't. I think I'm a bigger fan than my husband too.

QUOTE (liddybuck01 @ Apr 20 2011, 06:22 PM) I was noticing that I'm one of the younger female fans on here. I mean, age doesn't really matter, it's just interesting. a lot of the ladies Ive met are a little older than me. or maybe I am old and just don't realize it lol I just hate that people assume my parents got me into Rush, or my other favorite bands, for that matter. I'm only 24, but sometimes I feel 45 lol I've had the reverse experience. Everyone here seems so young! Most of the women here seem to be a lot younger than I am. I'm almost as old as the members of our favourite trio. But I'm young at heart! I'm a relatively new Rush fan compared to my husband who was a fan in high school in the 70's. It doesn't matter, though. Everyone on this board loves Rush.

NEIL CORNERED IN A HOTEL LOBBY
On TheRoad To Adventure replied to tapermike's topic in On The Lighted Stage
QUOTE (tapermike @ Apr 15 2011, 06:25 PM) I HAVE THIS ODD DESIRE TO CORNER NEIL IN A FINE HOTEL AND FORCE HIM TO MEET ME. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK WOULD HAPPEN? I'm going to apply for a job as Geddy's bodyguard. I'm female and a lot shorter than average, but I think I have a better chance of success than you do. -
QUOTE (DigitalDan @ Apr 13 2011, 06:41 PM) Years ago I think I would have really wanted to meet them enough to pay $3K. But now I'd love to just party with the from the front row for 3 hours. 11th row is the closest I've ever made it since I started seeing them in 1991 and that was this past weekend in Hershey. Might splurge on the next tour for first 3 rows if available. If anyone has any tips for getting first 3 rows without knowing someone I'd love to hear it. Ditto for me. I've got 13th row for Portland this year, and that's the closest I've ever been. How anyone can get the first few rows without paying an arm and a leg to a scalper, or by knowing someone is beyond me.

Geddy Lee: My Favorite Headache

I think Geddy has one of the most amazing voices on the planet, but I know from listening to other aging singers that everyone's voice goes as they get older. I just hope he doesn't push himself and do damage to his vocal chords. He's already had surgery once on his vocal chords; I don't think they can do it again. That's why I wish he wouldn't try to sing songs like Freewill anymore. I won't miss it, and his voice still sounds fantastic when he sings the lower songs.

Mine is Fly by Night: misheard lyrics: Changes are coming and I just can't pretend correct lyrics: My ship isn't coming and I just can't pretend I was SO sure I was right about this one, I lost a bet with a husband on it. I couldn't believe it when I read the correct lyrics.

so where are the real spoilers?
On TheRoad To Adventure replied to hughes&kettner's topic in On The Lighted Stage
QUOTE (hughes&kettner @ Mar 23 2011, 08:38 AM) about a year ago, before time machine leg 1, there were real "leaks" to setlist and stage setup...not a lot, but enough to wet the appetite. isn't there someone who has the new info? c'mon now!?!! i can't wait for the 31st to see what changes they are making. and i'm betting a 12pack (to those 21 and over only please) that there will be 2-3 songs changed from the first leg... someone... anyone...??? real info , not BS like my post about spoiler or the huge f-ing spoiler on a car.( i know i'm only asking for smartass-estry.) I think you'll be buying someone a 12-pack because Alex has said there will be no setlist changes. I am over 21, but I won't bet because I don't like beer. Here's a quote from a Feb 2nd interview: .. We've decided to do exactly the same set that we were doing last year. We talked about changing out some stuff. Certainly we wouldn't add any other new stuff because we haven't really developed it yet beyond sort of that first stage of writing and arranging. But we thought it best to keep the show as it is. .... And here's the link to the audio clip of the interview on the rushisaband site: http://www.rushisaband.com/display.php?id=2459 -

Too many hands on my time

I never seem to have any nice dreams about Rush. They all seem to be bad dreams. I remember one where I dreamt that I met Geddy's wife and mother somewhere and they invited me to their house. I was having a nice visit with them. (They didn't know I was a Rush fan.) Suddenly Geddy came into the room and saw me. He seemed to know right away that I was a fan and accused me of using his family to get to him. It was so important to me that they know I wouldn't do that, but no one believed me! Everyone was angry at me. The women felt betrayed and they were angry too. What a nightmare! I was so relieved to wake up and realize it wasn't true.

Welcome to TRF! I'm relatively new here too. I like it a lot so far.

Unless you're willing to share your secret, please don't brag about it. Unless you're in the music industry, it's impossible, in my opinion. who's bragging, pal? this isn't 'secret' information, it's pretty common knowledge if you're interested in meeting Alex, Geddy or even Neil for that matter, put 5 minutes of thought into it, you'll arrive at the answer I did 24 years ago I live almost 3000 miles from Toronto and can't afford to fly there, so that rules out that idea. Okay, I've thought for 5 minutes and can't come up with any other ideas! I shouldn't have assumed you're bragging, but I've encountered some other braggarts online, usually people with "connections," but I shouldn't assume you're one of those. It's actually not as important to me as it used to be. Cheers Okay, my interest is piqued now. Common knowledge? Does anyone know what Ghostworks is talking about? I am pretty sure ghostworks stalked them. Camped out outside their hotels each and every night of a tour until he finally "accidentally' bumped into them. This was on the Hold Your Fire tour. He did some time in prison and Rush has a restraining order that prevents him from getting within 50 miles of them. This is the answer he had arrived at 24 years ago.. I don't camp, and I've never been incarcerated but you're getting there... Thanks for all your responses. If I can't have a decent conversation, I think I would rather not meet them. The music is what matters to me anyways. I consider myself fortunate to be going to a show this summer, and getting closer seats than I ever have. Rush on!
