  1. Not a bad job filling in for Rutsey the past 41 years. Hopefully they can still record and perhaps a mini-tour a few years down the road and if not, they went out on a high note.
  2. Referenced Wikipedia for confirmation... When it is necessary to capture audio covering the entire 20–20,000 Hz range of human hearing, such as when recording music or many types of acoustic events, audio waveforms are typically sampled at 44.1 kHz (CD), 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, or 96 kHz. The approximately double-rate requirement is a consequence of the Nyquist theorem. Sampling rates higher than about 50 kHz to 60 kHz cannot supply more usable information for human listeners. Early professional audio equipment manufacturers chose sampling rates in the region of 50 kHz for this reason. There has been an industry trend towards sampling rates well beyond the basic requirements: such as 96 kHz and even 192 kHz. This is in contrast with laboratory experiments, which have failed to show that ultrasonic frequencies are audible to human observers; however in some cases ultrasonic sounds do interact with and modulate the audible part of the frequency spectrum (intermodulation distortion). It is noteworthy that intermodulation distortion is not present in the live audio and so it represents an artificial coloration to the live sound. One advantage of higher sampling rates is that they can relax the low-pass filter design requirements for ADCs and DACs, but with modern oversampling sigma-delta converters this advantage is less important. The Audio Engineering Society recommends 48 kHz sampling rate for most applications but gives recognition to 44.1 kHz for Compact Disc and other consumer uses, 32 kHz for transmission-related applications, and 96 kHz for higher bandwidth or relaxed anti-aliasing filtering.
  3. The entire Rush catalog appears to be not available for those with a Canadian IP address. Question for the resident audiophiles....I'm picking up a portable Hi-Res media player and just curious if there's a noticeable difference between 192kHz vs 96kHz 24bit downloads or would it be too subtle for the average ear? Also, recently came across the High Fidelity bluray audio release of FBN, FTK & Signals....any comments good or bad?
  4. If I was trying to avoid potential RUSH spoilers then googling RUSH would be at the very bottom of my to-do list.....just sayin'.
  5. Bit more complicated....I bought two tickets from the pre-sale and the one that I'm not keeping is the one that disappeared.TicketsToday thinks a one dollar stamp with no tracking number is a competent business decision for a $200 item?!? If anyone can provide a phone number for TT I would be greatly appreciative....the e-mails just aren't working.
  6. Been over 3 weeks since my order shipped for Toronto. I live in an apartment where mail is misdirected quite frequently. I contacted TicketsToday and they will not re-issue the ticket....I have to pick-up at Will Call. My concern now is if the ticket has fallen into the wrong hands and what if they enter the venue before I make it to Will Call....then what?!?
  7. Been 3 weeks since they shipped but still hasn't arrived....not good. :(
  8. Passed on the 9th row gold package for $500/ticket....then passed on the 14th row silver package for $400/ticket....ended up with 17th row centre for $200. Can't imagine paying $200-$300 more just for the swag.
  9. LOL....you could actually here his footsteps. Like the guard said....faster than Britney Spears! Can anyone tell me whose playing the piano during the final few bars of Spirit?!?
  10. Brought plugs with me but never felt like I needed them...10th row floors.
  11. Usually the same price from my experience.
  12. Over the plate but a bit low....BALL ONE!!
  13. Got my Amex presale notice nearly 3 hours AFTER they went on sale....aaaaargh!!
