  1. Blues Traveler - Hook One of the most awesomely meta songs ever, lyrically. Not too different from This Song by the quiet Beatle.
  2. Queens of the Stone Age self titled
  3. Zoot Suit Riot - Cherry Poppin Daddies 17 year old me had no idea what that name meant. I was in for a surprise when I found out.
  4. I'm still holding out for McAdams. Lil Dicky was on to something. Speaking of which... 2016 - Doctor Strange Like Natalie in Thor, a wasted girlfriend role for an actress who deserved better. Love Charlize but she would have killed it as Clea.
  5. Smashing Pumpkins - Pinwheels Oceania has grown on me. I dig the similarities to the Zwan side project and Mike Byrne isn't too bad on drums especially since Chamberlain is a heavy influence on his drumming. He was even in his early 20s back then so he was kind of a prodigy like Frusciante with RHCP on Mother's Milk.
  6. Blue and Lonesome, even if it's a blues cover album. I recall John Fugelsang saying how it's just the Stones being a good band instead of just trying to be The Rolling Stones. In that case, I'd say Mondo Bizarro by Ramones was a nice return to form. More on the xennial side of old, since I'm the same age as Brandon Flowers, Pressure Machine was a very pleasant surprise for me. Best album by The Killers since the awesome one two punch of Hot Fuss and Sam's Town. They've been hit or miss with me since but I love the stripped down sound. As far as solo artists go, Heathen by Bowie and Magic by The Boss.
  7. Out of Time - R.E.M. Which I listened to yesterday, oddly enough.
