  1. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Feb 26 2012, 08:26 PM) QUOTE (Huge Ackman @ Feb 25 2012, 06:48 AM) http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Rush%202011%20Concord/IMG_0816.jpg This is a fine example of why I nickname Geddy "Mr. Dimples" Those dimples are beautiful...then again, so is everything else about him.
  2. I chose "Love it!" I've certainly warmed up to the album since I first heard it; a large part of my opinion of it is because of reading Ghost Rider. Knowing what Neil experienced prior to Vapor Trails, and all that he (and the band) had been through before that point, gave me a deeper appreciation of the album born from those hardships. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's mine.
  3. QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Feb 19 2012, 07:12 PM) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/sevenem/rushlol.jpg I absolutely loved this moment. Geddy: Guys, can we do the album shot now? *Geddy takes the picture* *Everyone starts laughing hysterically*
  4. I thought that I would share these again. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/ClYG2-1.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/ClYG3-1.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/ClYG-1.jpg He was so cute! And still is.
  5. Happy birthday, Christine! It's been great to be (online) friends with a fellow Rush and Harry Potter fan.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxflfBygfIs A very beautiful piece composed by Trevor Morris for the Showtime series The Tudors. This is played during the scene where Katherine Howard (played by Tamzin Merchant), King Henry VIII's fifth wife, dances for the last time. She is convicted of treason for carrying on an extramarital affair while married to the King; she is later executed at the too young age of nineteen.
  7. QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Feb 10 2012, 04:39 AM) QUOTE (Babycat @ Feb 9 2012, 01:18 PM) Courtesy of SavageAmy: http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n639/savageamy/GeddyBanner.jpg Hope you didn't mind, but I just had to post this..! Actually, that's not mine! I can't remember who made it... Kahme, was it you? It wasn't me, either; I believe it was Tery (HowItIs)'s husband. He made gorgeous banners for both the Alex and Geddy fans.
  8. I encountered something interesting today in my math class. I paired up with a classmate for a practice ACT test and sat next to her. The person who had been in the desk before me wrote "I Love Jews!" on it. When I read that, I was like, "I do, actually." Especially a certain someone here.
  9. You know you're a Rush fan when you wake up at 11:30 at night, having fallen asleep two hours earlier, moments before you hear your brother say the words "Alex Lifeson." My obsessed Rushian side is always awake, apparently.
  10. I was introduced to this British Alternative/Indie group by a fellow Rush fan, and have recently fallen in love with it. I love the classical instruments, especially the Celtic music influences, as well the lead singer's voice, which has the ability to be both ethereal and gutsy (to quote an iTunes review). Plus Florence is bloody gorgeous. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/AlbumArt.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/FLORENCE-AND-THE-MACHINE-CEREMONIALS.jpg Unfortunately, there are currently only two studio albums. Despite that, they are so full of addictive and unique music that I'm always enchanted whenever I listen to them.
  11. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/2012-feb.jpg This lovely picture is for the month of February on the 2012 Rush calendar. Green eyes!
  12. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/AliceBday.jpg Happy birthday, Alice! Keep being awesome, and keep being the King of Shock Rock. It's amazing to think that he's been doing this for forty years, isn't it? He just released Welcome 2 My Nightmare last year, and he's now 64.
  13. I feel like being generous. We need some more Geddy. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/GeddyRTB7.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/GeddyCounterparts4.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/geddyvt.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/Geddy2002-II.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/Geddy_Lee_-_Bassists.jpg That's an amazing birthday gift, right there.
  14. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Jan 30 2012, 09:28 PM) Happy Birthday Kahme! Did you get the piece with Geddy on it? Thank you again. I certainly did. That and the piece that said "From: Geddy Lee."
  15. My best pal 2112Oracle's birthday is today, exactly a year after mine. What are the odds of that? Happy birthday, Oracle! May it be full of Rush/Geddy/Alice/Snape/Liam goodness.
  16. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/KahmesCake2012.jpg This is the cake for my birthday tomorrow. It's full of so much win! It'll be delicious for more than one reason. I chose to have my first drawing of Geddy scanned for the cake.
  17. I freakin' love this picture. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/bass-face.jpg Oh, Geddy, you're so adorable.
  18. If I discovered that I was related to one of them, especially Geddy, I would either faint, burst out crying or be left speechless. Or any combination of the three. It would be epic.
  19. I'm so sorry for everyone involved, especially Andrew's family. It's never easy to lose a loved one. May he rest in peace.
  20. It seems that even I have begun to stray away from Geddy. There's been a bit of a drought in terms of fresh Rush stuff. We Geddycorns need a new album and new Geddy pics, methinks. That way we can enjoy how epic the music is and how lovely Dirk is. And speaking of Clockwork Angels... http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/time-machine-40.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/GeddyCA.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/time-machine-52.jpg
  21. Alice deserves a thread all his own! Outside of the world of Rush, I have become an official Alice Cooper fan in recent months. Much like Rush, Alice and his band's career spans over forty years and has created incredible music. Not only is he one of the greatest live performers, but Alice also writes about everything under the sun. Plus he has been with the same woman since 1976, despite struggles with alcoholism and a threatened divorce. From what I've heard people who have met him say, he's a true gentleman. Just an overall epic guy. The next time he tours here, I'm going! http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Alice-Cooper-alice-cooper-9586536-400-525.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Alice-Cooper-alice-cooper-9586505-320-320.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/71905707s600x600.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Alice_Cooper_Live-2.jpg
  22. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Jan 23 2012, 04:21 AM) QUOTE (Janie @ Jan 22 2012, 08:47 AM) For everyone's enjoyment: http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo228/LifesonPics/2129_f.jpg Why are those other guys in my picture of Alex!? That's what I thought. Methinks Alex is barefoot. That must be one comfortable studio.
  23. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jan 18 2012, 09:29 PM) There needs to be a shift in mentality. Skinny isn't beautiful, big isn't beautiful, healthy is beautiful. If we can change the mentality to promoting health, we'll be on a better track. All of a sudden, the underweight waifs wouldn't be thought of goals and overweight women might not feel the need to shed 20 pounds. You can be healthy and still be packing a few extra pounds, after all. As a guy, I'm just as turned off by stick-figure women as I am 300 pound women (and while I hope everyone here is rational, just in case anyone takes offense at that, I'll just remind the room that everyone has personal tastes and opinions about who they find attractive). There's a middle ground that I personally believe most men consider "normal", despite the stereotypes about us that say we only like skinny women with huge... tracts of land. And in that middle ground, you'll find healthy women of varying shapes and sizes. Yeah, what he said. You read my mind, Daniel. I agree 100%. To me, all women are beautiful; beauty is in the eye of the beholder and comes in many forms. Healthy is beautiful, and we should be promoting genuine health instead of extreme forms of "beauty." Society needs to snap out of it. And I loved the Monty Python reference.
  24. Happy birthday, Tery! May it be a good one. Ironically, "How It Is" appeared on my iPod's shuffle at the same time that I read this thread. It's playing right now. Perfect timing, eh?
  25. My photography teacher offered to play a Rush CD in class today, after he noticed how I include a picture of Rush at the end of my PowerPoints for the assignments, on a slide which says "Thank you for viewing!" I brought in Snakes and Arrows for him to play. My classmates didn't say anything, but I loved it. Even if they didn't take notice of it, I certainly did. Their loss. That teacher rocks.
