  1. True - it's funny... Artists die every day, and of course it's sad... But every now and then one passes that - for some reason - hits me a little harder personally. Richard Wright was one... Ray Charles was one... Warren Zevon was one... Chris Squire is one.

Newbie? Hugs! Actually - I joined 4 years ago! As you can see though, I'm not much of a poster

    Vital Signs

Hello. My name is Tom (HI TOM!) Hi..... and I...... well......... Vital Signs is one of my favorite Rush songs... in fact... well........ it may be my favorite. There. I said it........... now you know my silent shame.
  4. We got setlist "B" in Boston, and I have to admit that I would have preferred "A" - Would have much preferred Red Barchetta over Camera Eye... And they played BTW when I last saw them on the S&A tour... Would definitely have preferred DEW. (Actually - would definitely have preferred Red Sector A, Afterimage or even Body Electric... but out of the 2, I would have preferred DEW - hadn't seen that since the HYF Tour)
  5. Not really a new Autograph thing... Just something that you might enjoy... That little dude up there ^ This is him (the one with his tongue sticking out) and his cousin on Tuesday night - waiting for the band to hit the stage! http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u176/TomD14/Nick%20rush3a_zpspokqparx.jpg
  6. Another vote for Rivendell... love the song, and would absolutely LOVE to see it live. Especially sandwiched between a couple of more rocking up-tempo songs.
  7. Walk up to them and say "Holy shit!! - Look everybody!! It's fricken Geddy Lee..... and some roadie!"
  8. Do they have kids sizes? Looking at Backstage and it looks like everything is either Adult-sized or Toddler-sized. I'm bringing my 7-year-old son to the Boston show, and he'll be completely bummed if he can't get a shirt.
  9. FWIW - I've sent to them twice, and both times had the mail arrive a few days before. Both times the items were fine and returned signed. Never got sent home with any wrestlers.
  10. This is kinda cool... A while back I had sent this to the guys to get signed (Maybe S&A Tour?)... Sent it out, got it back, framed it up... Hanging in his room now. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u176/TomD14/Nick%20Rush%20Signed_zpsizrtqjuh.jpg (and YES - they DO read the letters, BTW... Notice - No "H" in Nicolas) So anyways... This little dude is 7 years old now and headed to his first Rock and Roll concert on the 23rd - TD Bank Garden, Boston. I forget who's playing though! ;)
  11. I actually DID win something Rush related! - Off the radio even! Second or third time I saw them (third, I think... Roll The Bones Tour... maybe 4th) - I won my tickets off the radio. Balcony seats... Nothing great - but they WERE free! I did not, however, get to meet the guys. That was the middle of a "hot streak" for me on radio contests: in less than 2 weeks, I won Rush tickets, Rod Stewart tickets, my own "listener's choice hour" (where I got to choose all the songs the radio played for one hour), and a dinner at some restaurant... I've never won anything before or since...
  12. QUOTE (GeddPratLerxst @ Dec 26 2010, 10:19 PM) QUOTE (Nate2112 @ Dec 25 2010, 09:55 AM) Her's how it works: Think of something that rush would never do in either their songs, albums, or misc. i'll go first. What if Rush played rivendell at the clockwork angels concert? Imagine The Horror!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!?!?!?! Rivendell is an amazing song. I don't get why everybody hates it. One of my favorite Rush songs... To each their own - even if everyone else is wrong!
  13. QUOTE (garyg7133 @ Oct 3 2010, 12:51 PM) For anyone who intends to send items to be signed, Here's how mine was sent - Priority mail USPS to the venue. Address it to Liam Birt/Rush Tour Management c/o the venue. I enclosed a return USPS priority envelope with postage attached. I also enclosed the following : The pic that they signed, a letter to the guys describing my "fandom" and asked if they would be so kind as to sign the picture. I also enclosed several pics that I had printed FOR them and explained them. Good point... How it was sent. FWIW - I've sent a few times - had success on all. I sent to: RUSH c/o (insert Venue Name Here) Address With a note on the envelope: "ATTN VENUE: Please hold for Artist - Performance date XX-XX-XXXX" Everything I've sent has been able to be placed in a SASE (although sometimes it's a BIG sase) and then the Self-Addressed Envelope goes into a slightly bigger envelope addressed to the venue...
  14. QUOTE (robertrobyn @ Oct 1 2010, 11:44 PM) I would love to share a pic of my auto but im not very bright and can not figure out how to attach my pic. Greetings! - The easiest way to do it is to upload it to a Photobucket account (free photo/video hosting site)... If you're intersted, I'd be happy to give you step-by-step instructions... Or - actually - even easier... You could Email the picture to me, I'll throw it up onto my Photobucket account, and give you the URL (all you'd have to do is type the URL into your post)
  15. Just wanted to show the framed pic hanging in Nick's toy-room... And to add that the personalization request ("To Nicolas") was only written in the note that I'd included... So someone does indeed read the notes. (even spelled it correctly - no "H"...) Also thought I'd show a past postcard I made up and had the guys sign (think it was the R30 tour maybe?)... Hugh Syme's "Starman" guy is a perfect proportion to DaVinci's Vetruvian Man - 2 of my favorite images. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u176/TomD14/nickrush1.jpg http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u176/TomD14/R1.jpg
  16. Here is my list of venues that I know will hold items for artists... Of course, not all of these places are big enough to hold a Rush show, but it's good info to have! 17. FWIW... Not all venues will deliver mail to the performers. So if you didn't get an item back, it doesn't necessarily mean that the band screwed you over - there's a reasonable chance that they never got the item. I have a list of venues that I KNOW will deliver mail to the artist, so when Rush is on tour and I want something signed - I just match up the tour dates to my list, and bammo. There's usually only one or two corresponding venues, but at least I know I can time it, and I know I'll get my item back!
  18. I took this picture last summer when my son was - I don't know - 20months old, maybe? I thought it was the PERFECT shot to get signed by the band, so I made up the little poster, and sent it to Columbus... Just arrived back the other day and it's already matted, framed and hanging in the boy's play-room! http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u176/TomD14/NickRushFans1.jpg
