  2. A.J. Brown : 3 years, $96 million, $84 million guaranteed Brown is now the highest paid NFL player who is not a QB or Nick Bosa.
  3. Moving the Draft to prime time was a money-making dream come true. It is now a game show / Reality TV drama, and the fans and media are loving every minute. It’s made the NFL more popular, but it has also made it more corrupt.
  4. The 2024 NFL Draft is underway! Unlimited drama and excitement and intrigue! (Well…..maybe not….)
  5. Cicadas are emerging — and they’re so loud, some called the sheriff By Anumita Kaur - The Washington Post Merry Turner thought the noise she heard Tuesday from her home in Newberry County, S.C., was from construction — the low, deep rumble of machinery toiling nearby. Meanwhile, Lee Foster, the county sheriff, thought it was from yardwork — maybe a neighbor attacking weeds bright and early. The sound didn’t stop. It grew louder. It climbed to a crescendo Tuesday — an unceasing alarm reverberating through the county. Soon, residents began calling the sheriff’s office and flagging down deputies. They needed to know: What was that noise? It was the rise and mating call of the cicadas, Foster and his deputies told them. The winged insects that spend most of their lives underground are emerging across the country in the spring or summer to molt into their adult forms, which lead to those infamously loud courtship calls. Their brief lives are spent mating — in a manner so noisy that at least a dozen Newberry County residents called the sheriff’s office in alarm this week. The cicadas’ din in the South Carolina county is a snapshot of what a swath of the U.S. will experience over several weeks this spring and summer, as billions of cicadas, from two different broods, are emerging at the same time — the first time this has happened since 1803, The Washington Post reported. The cicadas in South Carolina are of the Brood XIX variety, which emerge every 13 years across the Midwest and Southeast. I called the sheriff Cause I don't know bug biology I called the sheriff Cause I don't know bug biology All around in my home town They're swarming to bring me down They say they want to bring me in guilty For not learning bug biology For my hate of bug biology But I say....
  6. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of social media, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of text, or of memes; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and stare at their phones, and to petition the Government for a redress of revenge porn.
  7. Wiress: Tik Tok....Tik Tok.....Tik Tok.... Katniss: It's a clock!
  8. Yes, he's earned highest honors in his profession. He's really, really good at his job, so he should be paid accordingly. We can also say that, in professional sports, "earning top dollar" has become nonsensical. Ability and performance have taken a back seat to "the market". Your huge contract comes from the "market"; your team pays you because they don't want another team to sign you. If your team can't afford your market demands, they let you go, even if you're the best player/coach in the world.
  9. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was rich, but now he is richer.
  10. [Meanwhile, at the Cannibal Restaurant....] Server: What can I get for you, sir? Cannibal: I'll have the albino salad. I'm eating light.
  11. "You're done!" Wendelstedt said. "I don't care who said it. You're gone!" "What do you mean you don't care?" Boone screamed as he rushed out onto the field. "I did not say a word. It was up above our dugout. Bulls---! Bulls---! I didn't say anything. I did not say anything, Hunter. I did not say a f---ing thing."
  12. Brewers' catcher William Contreras got away with a phantom tag on Michael Taylor, who bunted just in front of home plate. Contreras grabbed the ball with his throwing hand and tagged the confused Taylor with his empty glove. Umps didn't notice.
  13. The payroll for the entire cast was reportedly $14 million. Jackson got $7 million of it. He'll revive himself.
  14. No hard feelings, Nova Man! The Brewers-Cardinals rivalry is strong with the Force....
  15. Brewers 2 Cardinals 0 1st inning: Brewers center fielder Blake Perkins robs Nootbaar of a 3-run homer. Brewers finally get to a dominating Sonny Gray in the 7th inning. Brewers SWEEP the evil Cardinals in St. Louis. I LOVE BASEBALL.
  16. No urine test, hopefully. You'll have to study all night for that one! (Weak attempt at humor to cheer you up!)
  17. Threw together some diced onions & green peppers, leftover rotisserie chicken and rice, all in a pan with some olive oil. Heated it up, put some cherry tomatoes on top. Two slices of toast. Not too bad for a Saturday morning breakfast!
  18. When I entered high school, I got my sister's hand-me-down calculator with no multiplication button. Times were hard back then.
  19. Wordle 1,035 1/6 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Yes, I do amuse easily.....
  20. Yes! I go to the cinema ! Specifically, the La Crosse Cinema in La Crosse, Wisconsin! A cinema is also called a theater and a movie theater. A film is also called a movie, a motion picture, a moving picture and a flick. I really miss my old Minolta 35mm film camera. When I was in Europe, I took 36 rolls of pictures. That sure was a lot of film to develop!!
  21. I'm sick of trying to discuss a great film only to have someone bring up a Simpsons spoof of the film. I want to hurt them....
  22. Elephant in the Room: "Wow...so that's how to get noticed! I have to go outside!"
  23. What the Hell is going on out there?!! Yesterday's bizzarro BS starts right where it left off.....bloop single, then a single, then a bunt that the Brewers flubbed, then a smash off of pitcher Wade Miley's leg, then a 3-run homer, then a throwing error, then Angel Hernandez calls a phantom balk.....
