I've been working on a pretty extensive project at work the last two weeks, been going in early and staying late every day. It's going to be distributed later this week, so I'm thinking I'll take some time off Thursday and/or Friday... When I have a little more free time, I'm going to put all of our scores in an excel spreadsheet to validate everything... I've sorta been adding things up on the fly, and its getting a bit cumbersome.

 

Understanding all of these unexpected challenges will only make this game better if we play it next year. I love the format and would only tweak a few things.

Ok gang, I've got some bad news and some good news. I've validated and rechecked all of this year's results so far, and I've come across a few issues, but the good news is they're easily fixed.

 

Between the five of us, we've used Martin Truex 7 times this year.

 

Mr Blues first used Martin Truex at Martinsville and again at Kansas. The default driver at Kansas in this case would've been Matt Kenseth, who is luckily still available in Mr Blues' roster.

 

Cygnus 2112 first used Martin Truex at Kansas and again at Charlotte. The default driver at Charlotte in this case would've been Ricky Stenhouse, who is luckily still available in Cygnus' roster.

 

The RacerX roster has been updated to correct a few discrepancies.

 

Everyone's scores have been updated, a sad testament to my ability to add things up on the fly. The apple cart hasn't been upset too much comparatively, but I really should've been using a spreadsheet from the get go. Sorry for my lack of organization.

And one last thing, before we get there...

 

I don't think I've been very clear on how we'll handle the chase.

 

Since we didn't get 8 players, we're not going to reset points for the chase. But we are going to reset the driver rosters for the last ten races. So as we wind down toward the cutoff, use up what you've got left.

 

You'll get a roster reset after Richmond, at which time you'll be free to use the field once more for the final run to the title.

At the moment he is torn between wishing good health for Dale Jr. and also wanting to see Jeff Gordon race at the Brickyard one more time!

That was my question as well. If we already used Dale Jr., (Mr. blues and I did) , can we pick the 88 again, or not, since it has already been used in a way? Whatever you decide is OK. Just read this article that says Gordon will be in the 88 the next two weeks, Indy and Pocono. Keeping my fingers crossed for Dale Jr. Article says he is having balance problems. Are you kidding me? I would retire right away (I know, they're not me, obviously.) The fact that he went to Pitt means he is pretty aware of his health; that is the original place where they discovered TCE and concussion syndromes, etc. I think it's smart that he went directly to good people and I hope for returned good health soon!
