Didn't see this thread before today either! I hope your trip is going well!! My son did one a few years ago and we loved hearing his stories (and I'm sure his sisters heard some that we didn't. . . . )

Hahahaha... :P

I'm doing fine. I have had VERY LITTLE time to check in on TRF. WiFi is also very slow at about every hostel I've been at so far.

Tonight is my last night in Rome, leaving for Florence tomorrow. Will post a butt ton of photos after I get back to the UK

Got this in a local beer hall in Munich.

Schweinshaxen: fried pork knuckle, potato dumplings, and delicious sauerkraut. A contender for most delicious food I had on this trip

And what would a German dinner in a beer hall be without a half liter of Helles? One of their cheaper beers, but it was still very good.

Went to the famous Augustiner brewery for dinner later that night. Augustiner is one of the very old family owned breweries exclusively in Munich, and their food and beer did not disappoint in the beer hall.

Various sausages and kraut:

That wrapped up our last full day in Munich. The next day we got to Rome in the afternoon and had some proschiutto pizza for dinner at a local mom and pop restaurant:

We were in the Vatican on Easter Sunday. I'm an atheist by all means, but you can't deny that they don't fool around in the Vatican on Easter. This was pretty cool.

That and the two people I traveled with are Catholic, so I decided to make a nice gesture in going.

Besides, how many people, atheist, Catholic, or whatever, can say they had a holiday mass with the Pope?

Vatican guards wear funny hats:
