Jack Aubrey Posted November 10, 2004 Share Posted November 10, 2004 From Coming Soon Variety reports that DreamWorks has landed rights to make a feature film version of the long-running Baywatch TV series, about a phalanx of lifeguards who patrol a California beach. The studio is expected to dive right in and hire a writer, says the trade. The plan is to fast-track a film that will hit theaters in Summer 2006. The series started on NBC and segued into syndication in 142 countries and 44 languages, and is still playing in various territories. It is unclear whether any of the series regulars, such as David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and Yasmine Bleeth, will be involved. We all know the only reason why men watched it was for Pamela Anderson running around in a bathing suit (later Carmen Electra). Not that its a bad thing...
