Posted twice for effect LMAO

Same here. ;)

Hahaha! Ok I will!

I really wish I was a bigger fan of Mercurys voice because the rest of the band is faultlessly entertaining.

I read an article about Bohemian Rhaposidy and the effort that went into it. Then I realised that bombastic rock like Queen lead in time to bands like Nightwish and others...bombast and classical pomp and theatricality...I suddenly sort of liked the song. I definitely don't hate it like I once did.

I might end up a late blooming Queen fan.

Knowing Segue like i do. Hot Space will become his fav and will lead to an essay on why it's the greatest achievement of the 80's, lol

Mick

It inspired Michael Jackson to create some of my favourite songs ever so I appreciate it for that!

you might n time get used to it.

I'm gonna say something that will probably get me exiled. i feel that way about his live voice. i generally prefer his studio work. i thought he was always way inconsistent live.

You must be the only person who doesn't like Freddie's voice. Never heard anybody complain about it before. What's your problem with it?

I find it irritating.

It rather did...I played ANATO earlier and the vocals were actuallu a high point for me.

But yeah...not my favourite voice at all. Not even close.

A lot less irritating than the Barry Manilow of rock Dennis DeYoung.

He is terrible. I actually can't listen to Styx much anymore...I used to like them a lot but his voice grew off me fast!

Kansas and Starcastle over Styx any day!

And I am starting to really appreciate Queen.

I never liked Stynx. Back in the day, like the late 70's/early 80's, metal fans and hard rock fans I knew used to mention Styx as a top band, especially the Pieces of Eight album. So I investigated and right away I didn't like their sound. Before I heard them, looking through their album covers in various record shops of the day, though they looked like a band I should like.

I like styx but can't Stand Deyoung. That faux british thing. used to think he WAS british. Made it worse when i found out he wasn't.

Freddie i've no problem with......though i do find he was hot and cold live.

but i love him.

I go to sleep for a while and suddenly Segue's becoming a Queen fan? Fantastic! This is glorious! Look what happens when I let other people start Queen threads, lol!

Segue, I have a strong feeling you actually will love Hot Space. What's going to be interesting is whether or not you like News Of The World. It's very different for Queen. Still totally Queen, but in a very different way.

He's seen what total admission of Queen fanaticism can turn into around here, ;)

Mick

You have to admit it was a killer way to open an album back in the day though.

Jazz is just a lot looser than they usually were, otherwise there are great ideas and the makings of a great Queen album, but all a little disheveled, which makes it feel undercooked to me.
