Lucas
Narps, the ironic thing is I first heard KISS while driving in the backseat of the family Vista Cruiser - it was Rock And Roll All Night, and I was immediately drawn to the vibe and energy .... I remember this like is was yesterday - I say to my sister "I love this song" and she says "It's that band that wears the makeup" - I had no idea what she was talking about, as I didn;t know what they looked like ... After a few days of hounding my parents, they took me to find a KISS album .. Alive ! had just come out ... I saw the album on display, and realized what my sis was talking about ... Needless to say, my life changed forever ;) Bwa hahahaha, the family Vista Cruiser wagon! With the moonroof! We also had one, a green one in the 1970's. We took it on trips all over the U.S. I liked to sit in the "way back" with the luggage because my two sisters bugged me otherwise. My dad loved it so much that after a few years he traded it in and got a newer one! Ours was green too !! ..... it had an "On The 8th Day, God Created KISS" bumper sticker :D I loved that car

MMCXII
I ordered this shirt a few days ago ... I know, it's not my design, but I liked it a lot http://www.oldskoolhooligans.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/r/u/russh_2.jpg God awful!!!! hope you didn,t pay much!!!!!!I ordered this shirt a few days ago ... Wouldn't wear it with the exception of as a pajama top. Maybe... :) My two favorite bands :DSomehow the fact that they are your two favorite bands just amazes me for some reason. I know there are big loyal Kiss fans out there but I will never understand the why. A great show is one thing but the music is another. Never could stand them... Couldn't have said it better! These bands are opposites! Kiss isn't even a band, they're just actors! like the Monkees..! They can act like a good band but Rush IS a good band! Kiss is like icing whereas Rush is the cake! Rush takes the cake! Better yet, Rush is the pudding but Kiss is that coagulated dry skin that sits on top of it.. That nobody wants... Ok that's all I got lol

Ok that's all I got lol What is unfortunate is the fact that I can think of no band EVER that was more dedicated to making music and bringing it to the fans than KISS circa 1973-1976 ... If you're not a fan, so be it, but their beginnings - along with Neil Bogart starting Casablanca Records and Bill Aucoin managing a band for the first time - was magical and it is unfortunate that people who are put off by their image don't know the story .. You don't have to like their music, but the "actors" comment is nonsense Whatever - I've been hearing this since 1975 anyway ;)

And that's when I was a fan! I had Destroyer, Dressed to Kill, Alive II, Hotter than Hell and I think Love Gun on Vinyl back in '77 or so. They were a wicked band, especially for a kid! But they're music is simple so it gets old fast..and Gene's personality sure doesn't help me like the band either!! I mostly pick on Kiss just for fun and get carried away lol. They're the kind of band that invite it for some reason.. Or maybe just Gene lol Edited May 25, 2015 by MMCXII
