A Solid album- The Quest for RUSH

I believe that beyond the "good 5 minutes" song, The quest for RUSH it has been to create a solid album.

Everytime they hit the studio since 74 they were trying to bring That album , D Album to life.

Here I dare to introduce my personal impression about it

Open to read your own

Rush- solid, straight, guitar is free as a bird, a complete meal.

FBN- solid but rather intelectual

COS- Not solid, mistic, dark and magic

2112- Solid as it gets

FTK- Not solid, breaking a different ground

HMS- Master piece of craftsman but not a solid album

PW- Solid Record

MP- Solid as Gold

Signals- its a serious effort to improve but the eclecticness and the previous record set a high bar to make it solid

GUP- Through time this might be the MOST solid record, it has balls from A to Z.

PW- Solid but lighter

HYF- not solid as a whole concept

Presto- not solid

RTB- Great effort almost a solid record

CP- not solid on the grunge B side

T4E- not solid

VT- solid sound, too many unnecesary experiments, 8 songs would make it

S&A- not solid- like butter in too much bread (by Bilbo)

CA- solid album

I think that's a pretty good assessment there.

I agree with you on this...Rush have always been about making solid albums. They aren't content to put a half-assed effort into anything, and their albums reflect that.

Even Rush's "worst" or, as you have labelled them, "not solid," are far better in every respect than most bands' best.

As for your specific ratings...I actually find they align pretty well with mine, although I would consider CoS, Hem, HYF and CP to be solidly solid.

They're all quality albums or at least "solid" to me...just on different levels. Some are just more satisfying to my particular tastes than others.

AFTK - Not Solid?right if you are a Synrinx Priest you might felt this was not exactly 2112 reloaded

Hemispheres Not Solid? You dont have a solid album with 2 large concept songs and the the other two made by the same structure of middle growing brakes

Roll the Bones - Almost Solid? Great rock spirit but sound recording didnt quite ignite

Power Windows - Solid? Try to play any song on bass and then come back to the blog dude

Lost credibility with those.
