Update:

So I saw my optician guy about my contacts today.

He is very pleased with how I am getting on with my new, soft lenses.

We talked about the surgery. He was confident that it will happen later rather than sooner as he believes my degredation won't be that fast....

However, he did point out that I may experience a downslide...

Despite still not knowing for certain, I still came away feeling kind of relieved.

I'm to go back in September.

Glad you're doing well with your lenses, Lyndsey. Hope all goes well for September. :)

That sounds really promising. I hope things keep looking up and you don't have the downslide at all.

UPDATE:

So I went back to the hospital todayto check up on my right cornea.

It turns out that it has got worse, BUT my eyesight is not yet affected by it, so I won't be needing a transplant just yet.

I am to go back for another check up in four months.

:)

Lindsey, I just came across this thread and my prayers and thoughts go out to you.

When I was 15 I had surgury on my eyes to correct some muscle issues--and the surgury didn't turn out well and made the problems worse. The double vision was manageable by prism in glasses and they decide not to risk another surgury--the Doc died a couple of year after and because the records were not computerized mine were lost forever.

I go into specialists now and they say my issues would be easily corrected now--but they don't want to touch my eyes because they don't know exactly what was done previously. If things keep progressing the double vision won't be correctable soon and they will either have to operate or patch one of my eyes.

I dread going ever 6 months--but hopefully the medical proceedure will become better and better.

I'm sorry you had such a tough time, Stone. :hug2:

One thing my doctor said 6 months ago is that the technology is improving and changing all the time and that we don't know what discovery they'll come up with next... maybe they might be able fix your problem in the near future with less invasive and risky procedure?

I hope it works out for you!
