All ABC wants to show is Lane Kiffen. Ugh.

Musberger's in Auburn, so it would at least be safe to show his wife...

Valiant effort by Mountaineers. They are very much improved on offense, and have nothing to be ashamed of. Just a few plays made the difference.

Thanks for the updates. I can't watch that game and see that smug a**hole on the sidelines.

Carolina and Clem5son both get slaughtered by 24 margins on victory. Both opponents' coaches tell the QB to take a knee inside the 5 yard line. Clem5on and Carolina both should have lost by 31, each.

Both teams lack leadership and are woefully out of shape.

Jawja has 4 capable running backs and a great OL. As much as I hate them, you have to admire and respect their playing style and physical nature of play.

Jawja will demolish Carolina, in similar fashion, in 2 weeks, en route to an SEC East division championship.

OK, these picks are just for funsies, as an experiment I'm doing with LAB**T:

Odds are the Consensus VI, @ around 9:30pm, EDT, on August 24, 2014

Picks are against the spread.

Texas A&M @ South Carolina(-10.5) Very easy pick. Loss

Ole Miss(-10) (NS) Boise State Easy pick. Win

Temple @ Vanderbilt(-10) Tough pick. Win (Temple by 30?)

UNLV @ Arizona(-23.5) Easy pick. Win

Penn State (NS) Central Florida(-1) Very easy pick. Win

Miami, FL @ Leweyville(-3.5) Hard pick. Mon

Utah State @ Tennessee(-6.5) Easy pick. Sun

SMU @ Baylor(-33) Very easy pick. Sun

LSU(-4.5) (NS) Wisconsin Very easy pick. Loss by half a pt.

Florida State(-17.5) (NS) Oklahoma State Very easy pick. Win

Southern Miss @ Mississippi State(-28.5) Very easy pick. Loss

Washington(-15.5) @ Hawaii' Very easy pick. Loss

Fresno State @ Southern COW(-21.5) Very easy pick. Win

Iderho @ Flawrida(-35) Easy pick. Postponed

clem5on @ Jawja(-7.5) Hard pick. Loss

Arkansas @ AllBarn(-21) Tough pick. Win

Alabamer (-26) (NS) West Virginia Tough pick. Win

Appalachian State @ Michigan(-34) Easy pick. Win

UCLA(-21.5) @ Virginia Easy pick. Win

Ohio State(-14) (N) Navy Tough pick. Tough loss

Colorado State @ Colorado(-3) Easy pick. Loss

Rutgers (NS) Washington State(-8) Hard pick. Loss

Yeah, I look like an idiot picking Navy to cover the spread, but the game is in Baltimore, Navy runs that triple option and consumes a lot of clock, they almost beat Ohio State, last time, and Braxton Miller is hurt.

I'm HOPING West Virginia's defense is good enough to keep from getting embarrassed by more than 26.

I have no idea why Central Florida is favored.

I have no idea why Florida State and UCLA are favored by that much.

***Georgia wins the game by 2 points***

So, how are you doing???? 10-8 so far with three games to go. Good job! That'll win you $120 total if you bet $100 on each game.

We don't know that.

Two weeks away is an eternity in cfb, and in any case the winner of the SEC east will not be determined until many weeks later

It is a mistake to draw overly sweeping conclusions from the opening week of cfb.

Anyway, as SC fans, better not to think about Georgia at all right now, but instead focus on beating East Carolina.

None of the so-called top rated teams impressed me all that much, in this opening week of cfb.

They all looked quite vulnerable.

Nobody looks like a clearly dominant favorite to win the NC.

Baylor and Tennessee get me to 12-8.

As for my losses:

Obviously, I thought Carolina would cover.

I never thought Miss. State would score that many points in a season opener(BTW, that's my SEC West team!)

I really thought the clem5on and jawja game would be very low scoring. I would have taken the under in that game.

And, Navy didn't come through on my upset.

Except for Carolina and clem5on, I'd pick those the same way, if those games were played next week, after what I saw.

I probably have no business picking the west coast games, because I always fall asleep when they're on.

Thanks for calculating the w-l record for me.

I'll give you this: we always make it look close against Georgia. But, they looked like a machine, Saturday.

We're 15 point favorites against Ruffin McNeil and his Purple Pirates.

Meanwhile, the bulldogs have two weeks to lick their chops.

Nothing like "play by play" on a Rush message board.http://mentalfloss.com/sites/default/legacy/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/baby-yawn.jpg Maybe just watch a game and keep track of the scores there?

I'm not sure I really understand this post. I guess you're saying we should "chat" during the games, instead of posting in here?

LOL.

I know 2 teams that claim to have the "greatest entrance in all of college football" who got hammered this weekend.

Maybe it's time to be more like LSU and Georgia, who don't have flashy entrances, but have great finishes.

You could be like the Hoosiers...run into the stadium at home games, then the players look around at the stands and wonder "where is everybody?"

Unless they play a team that travels well.

A friend of mine, who works for US Foodservice, had an opportunity to work in Bloomington, quite a few years ago, and Michigan came to town. He said the ticket was easy to get, and there was no one there, and no one cheered when the Hoosiers ran out onto the field. He said that he's see more enthusiasm at high school games here in SC. He said Michigan hammered them.

But, like many of the other schools that aren't so good in football, y'all make up for it in basketball.

Yup. Sounds like the DiNardo years. When we have a good team, Hoosier fans might outnumber the Michigan or O$U fans in Bloomington.

But IU has some of the best basketball crowds in the country. Maybe THE best. During the first three years of the Crean era after Sampscum killed the program, the Hoosiers went 28-66, and still sold out every home game and the fans were as enthusiastic as ever.

Well, it wasn't my intent to watch the games, this weekend, but my wife was back in the hospital, so I ended up watching the games with her. I guess I can try to pick some games, again, although I hate doing it against the spread.

This is based on the Consensus 6, around 7:30 pm, September 1, 2014:

Florida Atlantic @ Alabama(-40.5) *Really? ONLY 40 points?*

Kansas State(-12.5) @ Iowa State *NDSU dominated the cyclones*

Did my wall video influence your EMU-Florida pick?

Because Fla couldn't have scored 38 vs a HS team last year...
