x1yyz
Not long after making a post in the thread "Prog Snobbery" I watched the BBC documentary "Synth Brittania." It is 90 minutes about the evolution of electronic and synth music in England, and has interviews and clips from the artists who made it happen. It delves into the roots of synth music, going all the way back to the early/mid-70s (a few years earlier than I had thought). They talk about some of the factors influencing this new style, including getting away from the "long hair and pretension in progressive music." Anyhow, I found it fascinating and I hope you do, too.

Ged Lent's sis
Cool, thanks. It was bedtime for me when I watched it, so I nodded off during the last 45 minutes or so, so I'll hafta watch again tomorrow. Much of the music therein is ick or meh for my taste, but there are diamonds in every little niche. I am glad that this movement came about.
