laughedatbytime
The Jags have lost 4 games, by 26, 10, 28, and 34 points. Can they tie the 08 Lions at 0-16? Can they achieve the margin of defeat of the 76 Bucs at -20.5? They have 31 points in 4 games, on pace to score 124 points. Can they break the Seahawks record for fewest points in a 16 game season at 140?

laughedatbytime
When David took on Goliath, at least he had a slingshot. When the Jacksonville Jaguars head to Denver next Sunday to face the Broncos, they’ll be armed with no such weapons. And so it is that the Week 6 game between the Broncos and Jags could feature the largest point spread in NFL history. Pregame.com founder RJ Bell tweeted about the possibility of a four-touchdown spread earlier this week. Depending on who you ask, the largest point spread in NFL history is either 23.5 (49ers over Bengals in 1993 and Patriots over Eagles in 2007) or 24 (when the two-time defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers played the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976). Either way, the Broncos seem poised to set the mark in Week 6. The Las Vegas Hotel & Casino put out an early line this week, giving the Jags 26.5 points. That was quickly bet down to 26, which would still be a record. For reference, the Seahawks easily covered a 19.5 spread against Jacksonville earlier this year. And in Week 5, the Jags are 11.5-point dogs to an awful St. Louis Rams team. The spread isn’t set in stone, of course. Things can change on Sunday. Denver could struggle with Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys. Peyton Manning could get hurt. Blaine Gabbert could go to the same Chinese restaurant as Manning and they could accidentally exchange magical fortune cookies that cause them to switch bodies for the day (aka the Freaky Friday scenario). Jacksonville could beat St. Louis on Sunday. Well, let’s not get too far-fetched. As it stands, unless Tony Romo gets the best of Peyton Manning or Jacksonville wins against St. Louis, expect the biggest point spread in NFL history next week. And even if it’s 26, it’s still too low. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/10/broncos-jaguars-spread-odds-biggest-nfl-history/
