rugen
I was listening the piano break played by Alex during the Garden, and he was struggling a lot. It was the newark show october 20th. Did he did that on others shows, because i didn't feel anything so emotional like the studio version.

got rush?
It was a little off in ATLANTA to me. Being a outside venue the sound didn't seem near loud enough. In Universal City, CA the quality of the entire show was outstanding. The free drinks (VIP) could have had a lot to do with it.
Mieko8
Alex didn't play it on the record. Most of what you hear live is the pre recorded playing from the record. He only plays the single passing chords live.

rugen
probably that my bootleg source didn't have the sound on a high volume, so i didn't catch all the notes...

Rush-O-Matic
Alex didn't play it on the record. True Most of what you hear live is the pre recorded playing from the record. Mostly true, but not sure which parts you mean. He only plays the single passing chords live. Not true. He plays the little runs, too. (You can scan through various versions on YouTube.) I've been to just two shows this tour - he nailed it in DC, but bobbled them in Atlanta. I like the OP comment . . . i didn't feel anything so emotional like the studio version because you're absolutely right. Jason Sniderman really does a nice job on the record. Alex wrote the piano part, but he's not a pianist and knows it. It's pretty cool how Alex can technically play the exact same notes, tempo, etc and yet it won't have the nuance of a gifted pianist.
